DEPTFORD GOTH FEEL REAL

It’d be easy to pigeonhole Deptford Goth, easy to lump him in with any number of hoodie-up-nightbus-blues merchants. But this is different; an innately pop heart beats within these almost painfully personal tunes. No more so than on ‘Feel Real’ which we’ve crushed so hard on all year, regardless of time and place.

TENNIS

MEAN STREETS The moment Tennis really delivered on their promise: It’s the pacing that nails it, holding off from the chorus for just exactly the right amount of teasing time. Does it sound like Tennis have ever seen a mean street? Dude, it just doesn’t matter, this is pop music; perfect, dreamy, wonderfully realised, pop music.

DENA

THIN ROPE There's something about DENA that just makes you want to be her best friend. Maybe it's the slightly awkward, offbeat stylings of Thin Rope, maybe it's her amazing Bulgarianvia-Berlin accent that fits the track perfectly, or maybe it's just that she makes really fun music. Whatever it is, this track still has us hooked.
