Confirmation Camps Confirmation Camp allows students to experience the Christian faith as well as learn about the Christian community in a fresh and fun context. Students are able to build stronger relationships with each other, with their Pastor/Leader, and with God – all while experiencing the fun of being at camp! All confirmation programs involve the students in regular camp activities like swimming, hiking, campfires, crafts and games, while also setting time aside for confirmation-specific learning. All confirmation programs require that a Pastor or Adult Leader from the congregation attend with their students.

Confirmation at Lutheran Memorial Come together with groups from a number of other congregations, as confirmation-specific sessions are combined with other camp activities. Week One (June 17-22) will follow the “One in the Spirit” curriculum, primarily led by LMC staff. Week Two (June 24-29) campers will be immersed in the story of Exodus; LMC and pastors partner in developing and planning your time at camp. Confirmation campers will have an opportunity to experience the Climbing Wall, Zip Line, swimming, outposting, and other traditional camp activities. We welcome, in fact encourage, input and involvement of the pastors in attendance for this program to compliment confirmation at your church. LMC: June 17-22, June 24-29 Fee: $375 per person online at anytime or with the paper group registration received by March 31 or $425 individual paper registration at anytime or group registration if received after March 31

Campfirmation at Mowana Grow together as a group while learning together about the faith. Each Pastor/Leader has their group together for a confirmation-specific session each day. The rest of the campers’ time is spent in the Shining Stars program. Campers from the same congregation are normally assigned to the same cabin group. Campfirmation campers also go canoeing on the Mohican River. Mowana: June 17-22, July 8-13, July 15-20, July 22-27, August 5-10 Fee: $390 per person online at anytime or with the paper group registration received by March 31 or $430 individual paper registration at anytime or group registration if received after March 31

Confirmation at Mowana Confirmation Camp at Mowana offers an in-depth experience focusing on a specific aspect of the faith. Experiential activities help campers deepen their faith in fun and creative ways. While Pastors/Leaders plan and lead many of the activities, campers also enjoy many staff led activities including the Challenge Course and canoeing the Mohican River. Cabin groups are made up of campers from multiple congregations. Contact Camp Mowana if you are interested in participating in this program. Mowana: June 24-29 Fee: $390 per person online at anytime or with the paper group registration received by March 31 or $430 individual paper registration at anytime or group registration if received after March 31 5

Church groups will qualify for the lower listed fee if the congregation mails in their group registration to the LOMO office by March 31 with: • a completed individual registration form for each camper that includes their parent/guardian’s signature • a completed church group registration form • a completed registration form if a Pastor/Adult leader will be attending (required for confirmation) • one check that pays for all youth campers in full (and the Pastor/Adult leader if attending)

Youth Leadership LOMO’s Staff-in-Training (S.I.T.) program is designed to help senior high-age youth develop leadership skills, as well as prepare for possible future summer employment at camp. While S.I.T.’s are still campers, they have the opportunity to learn about and experience what it’s like to actually work at camp. S.I.T.’s receive basic leadership training, have the opportunity to lead hands-on camp activities, and work alongside an experienced camp counselor.

Staff-in-Training (S.I.T.) With so many youth attending the 2012 ELCA National Youth Gathering, we are giving prospective S.I.T.ers the summer off. But stay tuned… Because, coming in 2013, we will offer an expanded and improved Staff-in-Training Program! We’ll see you in 2013!

This is a ‘family friendly’ experience that puts teams to work on specially planned projects. A suggested donation of $40 per adult and $25 per student helps to purchase supplies, as well as cover the cost of meals. Contact ryanricketts@gmail.com to register.

Mowana Servant Week, June 10-15 An opportunity for individuals, families or youth groups to help get Mowana ready for summer. Come for all or part of the week. Youth groups need to be accompanied by one adult supervisor for every four youth, with a minimum age of 13. A $25 per person registration fee helps cover meals. Contact Mowana at mowana@lomocamps.org to register.

Lutheran Memorial Work Days, June 1-4 Come for any or all of the time! Your help is needed in a wide variety of areas including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, gardening, trail maintenance and more. Volunteers will be matched-up with skill level-appropriate work projects. There is no cost, but you are asked to register by contacting LMC at lmc@lomocamps.org or 419-864-8030.

Luther Special Projects Week “Plus”, May 18 – May 28 Come experience a servant week dedicated to renovating and repairing the facilities. We can always use volunteers for plumbing, roofing, electrical work, cleaning, gardening, painting and cooking.
