Message from Mrs. V
Dear students, Suddenly and without warning, our lives and plans have been interrupted and we have been forced to adjust, if only temporarily, to a new way of connecting, learning, and living. We realize that this comes with many disappointments and feelings of loss. Its OK for you to express those feelings. We certainly feel the loss of not seeing you all daily. Hearing our students on campus, listening to your stories, and just doing life together is the best part of being an educator. We miss you! However, I refuse to sit in a place of sadness. I am looking for the good in the middle of all this. A popular quote by Martin Luther King Jr. says “Only in the darkness can you see the stars.” I see those stars when I see your teachers putting in long hours to find ways to teach you and to connect with you, when I see pastor JO finding creative ways to keep us connected and not alone. I see stars when I see our students finding ways to reach out and stay connected with each
other. What stars are shining brighter in your life right now? Are you spending more time with loved ones? Are you reading or spending more time with God? Are you getting to rest in the middle of a crazy busy school year? You may not have noticed the stars yet; maybe you have noticed the darkness more. I invite you to look up, there is goodness to be found even now.
The apostle John wrote about Jesus saying “the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” This current darkness, will not, and cannot overcome the light that God shines into our lives. We will be OK. God is with us. This time will pass. We will come together again, we will be stronger and more connected. We will celebrate your accomplishments. We will celebrate our Seniors. We will find ways to see the good, and when we look back, we will know that God has been by our side, even when His footprints were unseen.
Keep looking for the stars! Mrs. V
