About us. Our history In 1993, the first timber plank was cutted in one of our factories in Eastern Europe. Since then our products have been sold on different markets like: Austria, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Denmark, France, Greece, Germany, Italy, Japan, Romania, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey and United Kingdom. If when we opened, our factory was operated by only 10 people, these days more than 100 families are taking home a monthly wage. In our early stages, we were manufacturing small garden sheds for the German market and then log cabins. We must give them credit that these days we know how to manufacture a proper garden building at the highest quality standard, and in the same time to deliver all our products in time. Each year our factory was attracting customers from all over the Europe, and in 1998 due to high demand, we have opened our first branch abroad, in Greece. It did’t took too long to realise that Italians love our log cabins as well and we had to open a branch there as well, which we did in first half of year 2000. In 2012, we were working with 6 different companies from the UK, when we decided to help them a bit on delivering the products much quicker to the final customer, therefore we have opened our own company called Timber World Ltd, a company that aims to deliver high quality log cabins, directly to the final customer using a dropship system that will allow our agents to concentrate on sales rather than the logistic side of this business. In 2013, we’ve decided to allow other companies to buy our products as well and we’ve started a campaign to increase the number of agents we have in the UK. Currently we work with over 100 different companies for which we deliver standard and bespoke log cabins and residential log homes directly to their final customer. By 2015, we aim to become one of the leading manufacturer and importer of log cabins for the UK market. 4

About us. Factory news Every year we invest in developing new range of products or in a system that will help us to stay one step in front of our competitors. In 2013 we’ve dedicated our investments and attention to the United Kingdom market. Due to high demand for fully pressure treated log cabins, we’ve increased our capacity for treating wood under pressure and as the market was asking for, we’ve started to design and manufacture fully pressure treated log cabins. We are now able to say: “YES, we can do fully pressure treated log cabins”.

Our presence in Europe At the moment our log cabins are delivered in countries like: England, Denmark, Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, Austria, Bulgaria, Greece, Cyprus, Portugal, Turkey and Spain. For each country we have developed a range of products specific to its own market and legal requirements. Therefore all our log cabins manufactured for the UK are fully compliant with Building Regulations and designed to suit the final customer needs, for example generous size outwards opening windows and door, or weatherproof log cabin kits.

6

Drop shipping in the UK We offer a full drop shipping service for the UK market that includes import, storage, delivery to the final customer, after sale customer support and all these... Raw Materials Every year we import thousands of cubic meters of wood from Scandinavian countries like Norway or Sweden. All the timber we import is made of spruce and it’s FSC or PEFC approved. It’s not as cheap as pine, but in the end is the quality that matters and as we are looking to manufacture high quality log cabins, then spruce is the only option left. Commonly referred to as whitewood, spruce is used for many purposes, ranging from general construction work and crates to highly specialised uses in wooden aircraft.

Kiln-Dried Timber Because we export all over the Europe our log cabins, and each market has different requirements when it comes to moisture we use our own kiln-driers. For example, in Spain the wood needs to have a very low moisture level, while in England, due to the pouring weather and high humidity the moisture needs to be higher. All our timber goes through this process, which also allows us to take the timber into our four face planners which will give a better finished quality.

Four Face Planer The utility of this machine relates to woodworking fourface planer which is composed of a movable platform, a fixed platform, a lifting mechanism, a feeding mechanism, a cutting mechanism and an electric power system. This machine has the advantages of enlarged processing range, raised processing precision, small size of the planer, light weight and low cost, is suitable for processing various log cabin components like: floor boards, roof boards, walls with thicknesses from 28 for up to 120 mm, floor bearers or roof beams. 8

Finger Joints Most of our UK competitors do not use finger jointed wood in walls or floor boards, nor do we. However, as the impact on cost of the building with so much wood wasted will be massive, we’ve tried to find a better solution and to reduce our environmental impact. We recover all the wood left and transform it into laminated roof beams, which prevents the sagging bending far better than the massive wood beams used by our competitors. We’ve managed to reduce the cost per building and create roof beams that can resist up to 300 Kgs/sqm.

ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY Laminated roof beams

Joinery Machine - Hundegger

One of the best machineries ever invented in the wood industry, the Hundegger K2i is no longer just a joinery machine, this is a robot. A robot with modern CNC systems, that manufactures end-to-end components and is highly automated using computer-aided designs (CAD). Within the numerical systems of CNC programming we manage to reduce the waste of wood, to maximize on quality of our products, precision of cuts and also to manufacture very quickly any type of log cabin or timber frame building.

Joinery Machine - RS1 Because our market share was growing from month to month, in 2010 a German manufacturer has designed especially for us, one of the most robust interlocking machine, able to work 24 hours a day, which enabled us to process all sort of log cabin walls much quicker than ever before. Because is using CAD drawings and is cutting all the elements to size, this machine helped us to eliminate any human error among the manufacturing process, to improve the quality of the finished products and to reduce our waste raw materials. 9

Joinery Machine - R2 We’ve tried for years to come up with a better joining system for big length walls, and as nothing was available on the market and what our competitors designed was awful ugly, we’ve decided to use a German manufacturer to design our own joinery machine. We wanted something like never before, something to enable us to manufacture engineered waterproof joints, and in 2010 we had our R2 delivered. This machine is also helping us to do all the roof beams saddle notches with a maximum precision.

CAD & CNC When you send us a bespoke log cabin is first designed in Autocad where 3D images are generated for the building. We then send you the drawings to confirm the dimensions and every detail. Once yourself or your customer will confirm the plans, same drawings are then sent to our performant machineries where every component is cut to the exact dimensions and with to the required thickness and profile. Once the log cabin has been manufactured we do the final checks by building the log cabin in the factory to make sure that everything is joining perfect.

3D Images We deal in a professional manner with every bespoke log cabin request no matter how small or big it is, you’ll first receive a quotation with all the costs involved in the project. If we agree over this part, all we need for time being are some hand drawings with estimated sizes, eaves height, ridge height and the front and side overhang required. With these details we will be able to generate professional non-branded 3D images which you can then present to your customer. At Timber World we aim to supply this images within 3 working days. 10

Quality Control Every single component is checked by one of our quality control staff. They check that all the saddle notches are where they need to be, they check the length, the width and the thickness to comply with the drawings and any special customer quality requirements. Also, at this stage we check once again the moisture of the wood which is recommended by the area where the log cabin will go. For example in Spain, the moisture needs to be much smaller than in the UK due to the hot weather.

Bar Codes Each component of a log cabin whether we are talking about bearers, floor boards, walls, rafters or roof boards has a code generated by the design software we use. These codes are then exported in bar code format and they are printed on small labels that are applied to each piece of timber once the moisture and measurements are checked. On the label you can find the component name (Floor board, roof board, etc.), the dimension, the alocated code that will match the drawings and the bar code.

Prototyping in the factory No matter if it’s a standard or a bespoke log cabin, small or big, we have one rule: All products are pre-fitted in the factory yard before they are shipped to the customer. This is our 5th quality control filter where we make sure that all components fit each other, they are cut to the right size and the final customer won’t have any problems with our product. Indeed, the labour will cost us much more than if we won’t do this, but if we have to do anything to make the final customer happy. That’s what we do! 11

Walls

NO FINGER JOINTS

As we have the latest technology available in the industry we can manufacture at the highest quality standards all sorts of wall systems. Each market is very different, same like our sollutions. The minimum thickness we do for the UK market and supplied as standard is the 43 mm, however the customer can pay an extra charge if they want a thicker wall or an insulated one. We have an option for 43 mm twin skin log cabins but also, for insulating the walls with a special cladding system. The cladding can be built on the exterior side of the cabin or on the interior based on customer prefferences.
