Bon Hiver My “Must Have” Winter Accessory As Chicago’s winter winds sweep across the city, it can be difficult to stay warm while maintaining a fashionable, yet functional wardrobe. Ugg Boots and puffy North Face's aside, there has to be a way to look chic while fighting off frostbite. As a fashion student I have found that the best way to make my couture commute from suburbs to city, while still managing to keep hypothermia at bay, is by accessorizing with my “must have” of the season, an oversized, chunky scarf. You can rock this look any way you want, dress up your everyday skinny jeans and black v-neck with a rich plum cashmere, or head out for drinks after class in a deep emerald wool blend. Play with textures and patterns, opt for a luxe, fringed knit in heather gray, or wrap up in a bohemian inspired two tone. If you are just as sick and tired of being bitch slapped by February’s negative temperatures as this city girl, then do me a favor...as you layer on your sweaters and thick wool socks, lace up your fur lined boots and head to Starbucks, remember it’s up to you to keep the chill out of Chicago, one stylish scarf at a time.
