Automobile registration After you have established residency in Ohio, your vehicle must be inspected (at most new car dealerships). Then take the inspection form along with your out-of- state driver's license to the title office, to obtain an Ohio title. The new title can then be taken to the BMV to register the vehicle. Driver's License After you have established residency in Ohio, you must pass a written test about Ohio traffic laws and signs at the local Ohio Highway Patrol Driver Examination Station. After passing the test, take the results to the local BMV with your current driver's license, a second form of identification that verifies your Social Security number and date of birth. The cost of a regular driver's license is $23, a commercial driver's license is $42. Dog Licenses All dogs (including house dogs), three months of age or older, are required to be tagged in Ohio. Dog tag prices are $10 per dog through January 31st and are $20 after February 1st. To purchase a tag simply supply the following information about each dog: age, sex, color(s), whether long or short hair and the breed of each dog.
