The 5th annual Roswell Wine Festival returns on Sunday, October 1st and is expected to attract a record-breaking crowd to Canton Street in historic Roswell. The festival has become a flagship event for the city drawing people from the entire metro area and beyond. With the festival around the corner, here are 5 reasons why this year’s event will be the biggest and best one yet. 1. More wine and wine enthusiasts than ever before. The 2017 festival will include over 1,600 attendees who will have the opportunity to enjoy a relaxing Sunday afternoon as they sip wine and stroll along Canton Street. Restaurants Osteria Mattone, Table & Main, and Vin25 are returning as platinum restaurant sponsors of the festival. The event will feature over 150 tasty wines from around the world, as well as a few made right here in Georgia. For the first time ever, the festival will host a tasting table with hand-selected favorites from past festivals to commemorate the event’s fifth year. 2. Coming together to give back. Festival co-founders Peggy Robinson and Dwight Cunningham had three tenets in mind when establishing the annual event - host a fantastic event for the city, support the local business community and benefit a local charity. It is an event that brings the community together for a common good and has become a can’t miss fall activity. While the festival is entirely sold out, one set of general admission and VIP tickets will be auctioned off for charity on Ebay in September. Proceeds from this year’s festival will support a special project with local nonprofit Keep Roswell Beautiful. Proceeds from

prior festivals have benefitted ArtAround Roswell, Friends of the Roswell Parks, the Roswell Fine Arts Alliance, Bert’s Big Adventure, and more. 3. Music and Wine – the perfect pairing. It’s been a banner year for soulful, blues act The Alex Guthrie Band who will headline the event for the first time. Earlier this spring, Guthrie appeared in a viral video commercial for American Family Insurance with singer Jennifer Hudson, as well as performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Fans of Guthrie’s will be able to see him perform his signature act during the festival. The festival will also feature local favorite Monica Spears who has been a long-time favorite at the event, and was the festival’s first musical talent. 4. Local Business Support The wine festival is proud to introduce two new platinum business sponsors this year, Hennessey Jaguar Land Rover North Point and Cruise Planners - Michael Consoli. These local businesses and all the wine festival sponsors are instrumental to the success of the event. In celebration of the 5th festival, all ticketholders will receive a special swag bag with wine goodies sponsored by local businesses. 5. Wine is not the only fun thing on Canton If that’s not enough to love, there other several new editions to this year’s festivities. With such a growing trend toward repurposing, the festival commissioned a local artist, EcoGlass studio to design exclusive jewelry which is made from wine bottles served at last year’s festival. Other new retail items will be available such as limited-edition t-shirts and custom-made wares from local artists. First time participants, Roswell Ghost Tours will be hosting a special tour after the festival. As has been done in the past, ticketholders are encouraged to stay for dinner after the festival and support one of the participating restaurants.
