Erin made the trek from Orange County to Los Angeles where she had arranged four appointments in one day at various bridal showrooms. Her sister, Amber, and two of her bridesmaids, Karina and Jacquelyn, joined her. Her last appointment of the day was at Grace Loves Lace, an Australian company with a bohemian boutique in Venice. They served the girls endless Champagne and berries. Erin tried on dress after dress but it was starting to look like she wouldn’t find the right one that day—then she spotted it. It was hanging in a corner, something she wasn’t sure she would like at first, covered in French lace with a long train. As soon as she slipped it on, she immediately knew. Waterproof mascara is a must on the day of—if you’re trying to fight happy tears, it’s proven to help if you always look up and breathe in through your nose. 4. Reduce frizz and blemishes by jumping into the ocean for perfect hair and skin. 5. Always carry an elastic hair band around your wrist in case you need to throw your hair up. 6. If you don’t have face blotters, toilet seat covers always work as an alternative.

The Florals THE DUO BEHIND THE BUDS Q: How many weddings have you done or how many do you do per year? Rene Larios and Paco Limon: We do over 100 weddings per year. The most popular time is between March and June. We have done more than 8,000 weddings over the years. Q: What was the most unusual request you had from a bride? RL & PL: We had a request for...a surprise birthday party from the wife to husband. The request was for as many flowers as possible, including flowers and petals for the private pool and balloons everywhere. The hard part was to do something so stunning in only one hour!

Q: How do you communicate with the bridal party? How do you make sure they will love the flowers if they only see them by email? RL & PL: We love to have phone calls and get in touch with the bride and groom so we can chat and make sure we understand their vision. Most of the brides will already [have] a file with pictures they downloaded from the internet or a Pinterest board, so we ask to see it and based on the pictures they share with us, we send the flower proposal with our own work similar to the vision they have.
