Board of Directors
Happy New Year, everyone! What a fast and fantastic 2015 we had! I can’t believe it’s been nearly a year since I joined the Museum team. It’s been fun to be a part of everything that has made this place a staple for Lincoln families for over 25 years. December was especially busy with our first ever total sellout at U-Stop’s Holiday Spectacular and Candy House Funshop. With lots of new people joining the LCM team in 2015, it was a big year for brainstorming and fresh ideas. We are excited to start rolling them out in 2016.
That won’t be the end of the fun as every Sunday we will host STEAM Sunday. Looking to the future, we see the importance in including as much science, technology, engineering, art and math into your child’s play as possible. Every Sunday, groups from around the state will be hosting fun activities that will expand your little ones’ minds. Super Saturday and STEAM Sunday start the weekend of January 16. In the meantime, check out the fun science project below you can do at home to help pass the cold winter days.
Some of the new changes you will get to participate in right away is an expansion of our favorite past events! Every Saturday in the spring, you are invited to be a part of our new Super Saturday! Each weekend you will get to experience either Creature Feature (formerly Zoozeum Day), Movement & Melodies, World Wonders (formerly Passport to Play), or Show & Tell at no extra cost!
Do you have new ideas for the Museum for the New Year? Reach out to us by filling out the “Contact Us” form on our website or message us on Facebook. We would love to hear them. Thanks for being a part of the fun over the past year. Hope to see you lots during the winter months!
