BLOTTER A suspicious vehicle parked outside the Islamic Society of Denton late Saturday night led to the discovery of drug paraphernalia, according to a police report. The incident occurred in the 1100 block of Greenlee Street when an officer spotted the suspicious vehicle backing into a field behind the parking lot of the Islamic Society of Denton. Police reported contact was made with the individuals in the car who began acting nervous and weaving stories that didn’t match. The officer on scene asked to search the car, but the driver refused, leading to the arrival of the University of North Texas Police Department’s K-9 unit. The drug dog performed an open-air search and alerted officers to some kind of illegal substance inside the car, according

Other reports 4500 block of Fox Sledge Lane — Police are searching for a 25-year-old Hispanic woman who was reported missing Saturday afternoon. The woman’s husband told police that he and his wife were trying to reconcile their relationship after more than a month of separation. She’d been home about a week when another argument ensued and she left. For three days, they argued via text message, in which she led her husband to believe she was suicidal, police reported. A missing person report was

filed. 3000 block of Paisley Street — A 58-year-old woman was found dead in her home Saturday afternoon, according to the police report. Police reported that the woman’s roommate had called 911 after discovering the victim cold and not breathing. When an officer arrived on scene, fire department personnel determined that the 58year-old woman was deceased. The cause of death is still pending, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s website. — Christian McPhate
