Educating our community about the COVID-19 vaccine and booster:

• The Pfizer vaccine is safe and effective in preventing serious illness caused by COVID-19, making the Pfizer vaccine fully FDA

approved for ages 12+.

• Emergency use authorization (EUA) continues for ages 18+ by Moderna and Johnson & Johnson. • The CDC recommends booster shots for select recipients of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine, six months after completing vaccination. • Eligibility includes those ages 65+ and those ages 18-64 with underlying health conditions or at high risk for occupational or institutional exposure. • There are now booster recommendations for all three available COVID-19 vaccines in the United States. Eligible individuals may choose which vaccine they receive as a booster dose. CDC’s recommendations now allow for this type of mix and match dosing for booster shots. • ChapCare is committed to Improving vaccine confidence with a public education campaign in partnership with local and regional community partners and leaders achieving equitable conditions for health. • Available data show that all three of the COVID-19 vaccines approved or authorized in the United States continue to be highly effective in reducing risk of severe disease, hospitalization, and death, even against the widely circulating Delta variant.
