Summer News

e Representing our Warrior FFA chapter at the 94th State FFA June convention at Alliant Energy Center, Madison, were Hank Goessling [St. Paul, Fort Atkinson] and Paige Lester [St. John, Waterloo].

e Summer Operation Go teams are out and about! Our New Orleans team went to Trinity, Abita Springs on July 16 to help with vacation Bible school.

e Our D2 track & field state champions were honored at a Brewers game on July 7 as part of a “Champion Spotlight” series. The team and coaches were invited onto the field for some pre-game acknowledgment of their success.

e Our Warrior Band participated in the Calgary Stampede Parade in front of 300K in-person spectators as well as an international television audience. We’ve heard from a number of parade spectators from the whole trip who have been thoroughly impressed! One wrote in to share: “I would just like to thank your wonderful band for coming to Belle Fourche, S.D., on July 4th and marching in the downpour. I know they were soaking wet but just went on with their intricate maneuvers and impressed our town with their professionalism. Kudos to their director and the chaperones and everyone it took to bring them here. They are a credit to your school and to the Lord. Thank you again!!” All told, our marchers were in 7 parades on their So. Dakota/Canada trip. This school year begins a new 2-year theme that takes your LLHS through the 2024/25 school year. Impressed continues a decade+ tradition of one-word reminders for our students, staff and families that emphasize our Christ-centered core value. While there are many “impressive” things always going on at Lakeside, from academic and co-curricular successes to campus updates and additions, the one lasting impression we want for students is Jesus. Mrs. Amanda Brock

Front Office / Attendance Secretary soccer. “I love working with high school students. They bring a unique perspective to the classroom which is both challenging and fulfilling,” he says. “Lakeside is a wonderful school, and I am excited to see how together we can grow the science department.”

His wife, Cindy, is teacher and A.D. at Trinity, Waukesha. Sons Alex, Liam, and Bryce “are very busy and active in sports.” Justin will commute while the family continues at Trinity for at least a year.

Mrs. Brock joins the front office staff 4 days a week as Attendance Secretary and Admin Assistant. “I am excited to start meeting more Lakeside families and I’m looking forward to the student interactions,” she says.

Amanda and Adam have four children: Madelyn (LL ‘24), Connor (LL ‘26), Alaina (8th grade), and Henry (6th grade). They are members at St. Paul, Lake Mills. Amanda, who shares “the same birthday with my sister, but we’re not twins,” went to Winnebago Lutheran Academy, Fond du Lac. She enjoys cooking, baking, and reading, as well as spending time in her garden and fishing with her kids in the summer.

Mr. Justin Gut | Science Dept. >>> Mr. Gut (say “Goot”) will teach upper level science, including Chemistry, Physics, and Environmental Science and coach JV boys

Growing up in Wausau, he attended Northland Luth. High School. While he began at Northwestern for pastoral studies, he graduated MLC with a degree in high school science. “I have since taught in several settings from principal of a two-room school in Otsego, Mich., to teaching science at Hope High School in Milwaukee.” He has a masters in instructional technology from MLC. Outside of work, he enjoys singing in choir and watching soccer. Interesting life fact? He shares that he’s “seen the inside of a Jamaican police station.” We can’t wait to hear the rest!
