The Warrior Legacy: Cooper Jensen

Lakeside has given me many opportunities to show my God-given talents, whether on the golf course or a robotics field.

Being able to play varsity golf all four years was a blessing, it allowed me to meet new people and grow as a person. Another thing that’s great about Lakeside is the opportunities outside of sports, such as for me, robotics. My freshman year I got cut from the basketball team and I was a little bummed about it, but then my friend told me about robotics and I was hooked. Being able to build and code these complicated machines was right up my alley, and allowed me to grow in knowledge about technology.

If it wasn’t for Lakeside having this path available for me, the robotics team and I wouldn’t have gone to state for four years in a row! My coaches in both of these programs inspired me to be an educator so I can have the opportunity to guide kids just like they guided me.

Cooper plans to attend Martin Luther College in the fall to study Elementary Education. He and his family are members at Bethany, Fort Atkinson.

Cooper is pictured with Ted Turnquist (‘85) who awarded the Morgan Turnquist Memorial Warrior Scholarship to Cooper for demonstrating a Warrior spirit to persevere through personal trials.

In addition to golf and robotics, Cooper was part of the A Cappella Choir his senior year. Along with 45+ other juniors and seniors, he worshiped at more than 15 area congregations through out the year, adding his voice in praise to the Savior.
