Ljubica Grubić

Ljubica Grubic studied sculpture at University of Arts in Belgrade, Serbia, where she lived and developed her practice collaborating with local artist-run groups until moving to Aotearoa in 2023. Ljubica’s works are inspired by organic looking patterns and rhythms in nature. Her practice tells a story of an ever-changing quality of physical transformation – being demolished and built again. Playing with oxymoronic nature of materials she incorporates found materials such as plastics and textile in her artmaking process combining them with ceramics, wood and concrete. She has exhibited work in Serbia and New Zealand.
