Day 2 Hit the trail early with a hike up to ROYAL ARCH in Boulder’s CHAUTAUQUA PARK. This relatively short—3.5 miles round trip—yet notoriously challenging hike—gains elevation of 1400 feet. Due to its popularity, it is imperative to hike early. Your reward? Stunning, uninterrupted views of downtown Boulder. Local’s tip: be sure to walk through and around the arch. On a clear day, you can see all the way to Denver.

Round out your trip with a show at the historic BOULDER THEATER. The theatre’s art deco facade and neon marquis are almost as iconic to Boulder as the Flatirons.

Stroll the Pearl Street mall, letting a variety of musicians and street performers entertain you. Shop among the historic storefronts, dine at buzzed-about restaurants, sip coffee, throw back a microbrew or simply people-watch.

With Boulder’s variety of fun-filled activities in every season, you’ll be planning your next 48 hours in the eclectic city sooner than you think.
