ELEMENT Co-Working Office Space Individual Project Fall 2019

I was given the task to design a co-working office space located at 709 6th St, Strawberry Hill, Kansas. The goal of this project was to develop an innovative co-working space that will attract startup companies, creatives, freelancers, and independent business owners. I have designed a space that works with multiple types of businesses by providing lounge seating, permanent desks, offices, meeting rooms, and support spaces including a recreation space, multipurpose space, a kitchenette, and more. By providing a conceptually strong design plan, efficient programming of the space, and high quality fixtures and furnishings, I have created a new and advanced co-working space. I used home elements to create a modern reinterpretation of the traditional home to reinvent the idea of working from home. By adding interior structures and using the existing, open floor plan, I created a simple, functional nature of past home elements. It is known that people work harder when they are more comfortable and there is nothing more comfortable than being in your own home; I wanted to portray this feeling of warmth throughout my space.
