Our Primary School encompasses students in the Foundation Years (Prep-Year 2) and Intermediate Years (Years 3-6). We believe that developing the whole child within a well-connected community is key to ensuring each child has rich learning opportunities to thrive in their own unique way, while making a positive contribution to the world around them. Social, emotional and spiritual wellbeing is valued throughout the Primary Years as we seek to support students in their application of character development.

We aspire for all students to enjoy and apply learning across a variety of subject areas. As such, we offer a broad range of core academic subjects and co-curricular activities delivered through the context of a Christian worldview. Some of these include Design Technologies, Livingstone Arts Academy, Chinese, Physical Education, Music, Drama/Film Media and Screen Acting, Digital Technologies, and Visual Arts. Additionally, there are a collection of lunchtime and afternoon Clubs for students to enjoy including Choir, Praise and Worship, Elite Running, AFL Actors Alliance and Chess. All students in our Primary School are encouraged to strive for academic excellence and Livingstone’s differentiated curriculum effectively aims to meet the diverse range of students’ learning needs, which are supported by the College’s Enrichment department.

Secondary

Our commitment to nurturing students to be Christ centered young people of good character who desire excellence is at the core of the programs in Secondary. We aim to develop confident citizens, leaders and employees of tomorrow - in academics and industry who have the capacity to care for others and the environment.

Years 7, 8 and 9 is a period of significant change for young people. Students are provided with opportunities to reach their potential and to explore subjects to best position them for their future pathway choices. Subjects are based on the Australian Curriculum and are delivered through a Christian lens which educates for eternity and provides a spirit of intellectual honesty and inquiry.

Students in Years 10, 11 and 12 are provided opportunities for increasing responsibility for their individual future academic program and personal development. The College is committed to offering a breadth of opportunities to students in order to meet the varied needs of young people, the conditions of the Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) and tertiary entrance requirements, as well as alternative training pursuits and apprenticeship or traineeship entry.

Whilst the focus is on developing a strong academic culture, there is also a desire to develop young people of good character. Students in all year levels have opportunities to participate in camps, leadership programs, clubs and performing arts events. We recognise that every student can achieve success and share the responsibility with families and students for assisting each student in attaining their individual goals.
