Section 5: Organization Officers

Executive Officer Descriptions

Recognized Organizations must have the following officers in order to maintain recognition. Adding additional officers is at the discretion of the organization in accordance with their bylaws

President: Leads the organization, sets short term and long term goals, and maintainsawareness of all organization matters, delegates tasks, attends student leader retreats,meets with Advisor/LIU Promise on a regular basis, runs Executive Board meetings, etc.

Vice President: Acts as President in their absence; assists the President in the leadership and management of the organization, follows other duties as assigned by thePresident.; Runs General Membership Meetings

Secretary: Manages administrative tasks including: scheduling processes for meetingsand events, taking and uploading meeting minutes, distributing minutes to members, advisor and LIU Promise, tracks attendance at organization meetings and events.

Treasurer: Manages financial aspects of the organization including: keeping track of allfinancial records, maintains accurate account of funds, and gives reports to necessary

Each officer is responsible for their specific duties; however, all officers and members shouldwork together to benefit the organization and each other’s development. Each organization may also have additional officers, provided the position descriptions are unique to the respective organization.

Executive Officer Eligibility

Student leaders must maintain at least a cumulative 2.5 grade-point-average on a 4.0 scale. LIUPromise withholds the right to remove Executive Officers that do not meet these eligibility requirements from their respective office.

Organizations whose Executive Officers are removed by Promise will have a maximum of onemonth to fill the vacancy. Clubs that fail to fill the vacancy will run the risk of being placed on probation with LIU Promise.
