My Philosophy
memories to last a lifetime
From the moment I picked up my first SLR camera at the age of fifteen and started capturing the details of my life, I knew I found my passion Capturing those fleeting moments on film before they are gone forever, was the perfect precursor to my career today.
From the beginning of my studies at the National Art School in 2001, I knew I found my passion in photography I looked at the everyday moments that often get overlooked, and created a real and raw story of life My dreams to capture more memorable moments for others ultimately led me to my career as a storytelling photographer. After all, what is more special to capture than the love between two people, especially on your wedding day?
I have been photographing for over twenty years as an artist, exhibiting my work both in Sydney and regionally. When I'm not caring for my two energetic children, spending time with my hubby Brendan or walking my crazy dog Wookiee, I am still photographing all the little moments in my life that I hold dear
And, just as I started capturing for my family and friends over a decade ago - I look forward to creating unique, beautiful photography with you. Which will act as a window back to your special moments for years to come - and all with a passion for photography, art, and capturing your love for one another
I’d love to tell your story
"My husband, Kyle, and I fell in love with Jade’s photography as soon as we first saw her incredible work. We didn’t waste a second when it came to inquiring about having her capture our wedding day.
Jade made us feel comfortable from our very first meeting and that was something that we were looking for in a photographer - someone who made us feel at ease and comfortable when being photographed - Jade well and truly ticked that box It was like we had known her for years even though we had just met
Jade has a knack for capturing people’s raw emotions and connections and each image tells a different story She has an incredible attention to detail She is knowledgeable, experienced and on top of all that she is a beautiful person Nothing was ever too much trouble and no idea was ever too wild
We absolutely love Jade’s work and have had multiple portrait sessions with her since our wedding day We look forward to Jade capturing our story as it continues to unfold We love being able to relive and reflect on special moments of our life through her images."
Allowing 50% more time for hair and makeup than you originally anticipated alleviates the number one reason wedding schedules end up running late This will ensure you have plenty of time for all the portraits you want to take before the ceremony
Have food delivered to your getting ready location. It may be hectic, but take the time to have a bite before the wedding since it will be a while before you have the opportunity to nourish yourself during the reception
Have your hairdresser and make up artist come to your getting ready location - This allows you to enjoy the process, and not feel like you are running from place to place.
When the years pass and memories get blurry, you’ll turn to these images and reminisce about the amazing life you’ve created together.
little glimpses
Every couple is completely unique and we spend time to get to know you both so we can tell your story in the best possible way - one that represents you Give us the time and freedom for creativity and we will make beautiful images for you to remember forever.
Your story should be captured for future generations When the years pass and memories get blurry, you’ll turn to these images and reminisce about the amazing life you’ve had together. To share with your children, grandchildren, and generations afterto see your story and their history
We believe that we all need to do our part to sustain this beautiful earth that we have, and reduce our impact as much as possible We are therefore committed to using environmentally responsible products and services for every aspect of our business.
L O V E I N A L L W A Y S
The time you both commit to each other. This is the moment you ' ve been looking forward to It's easy to get caught up in all the preparations and planning. However, remember the most important thing is, this is the beginning of your lives together. Savour this moment!
The usual ceremony lasts approximately 20-30 minutes, but if you want to include any specific traditions, I'd recommend giving yourself an hour.
One important tip is asking your officiant to move out of the way before the first kiss so they aren't in the background of the photo
Find out what the rules for photographs are at the ceremony location. All venues are different, some restricting the location of photographs and even the times in which they are permitted.
"If we had to give a rating out of 5 stars our rating would be 50 Jade was above and beyond anything we could have ever hoped forchoosing her to capture our wedding day was probably the best choice we made out of the entire wedding
From the minute she arrived she was straight in to capturing every small detail, while being so easy to be around She made us feel completely at ease and comfortable and the result was pure magic
My heart bursts every time I look at our photos and I never thought they could be as truly beautiful as they are She left more as a friend than someone we hired and I really think that anyone would be lucky to have this beautiful, talented lady as a part of their day. We are 100% your biggest fans!"
“The most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or touched, they are felt with the heart.” the little prince
Here at little glimpses we pride ourselves in capturing the most natural, candid portraiture possible. This style showcases your day as it was, helping to bring your personalities forward and documenting your day for a lifetime of memories While we shoot the majority of our images this way, it's also very important to capture traditional portrait groups as well
We like to photograph the bridal party images at the beginning of your portrait session Giving us time to capture intimate images of you both together alone at the end of your portrait session This alone time is so valuable, and is generally the first moments you have together to talk as a married couple
As time permits, we love to include a picture of the bride with each of her bridesmaids and the groom with each of his groomsmen, since each person has been invited due to close, personal ties with the couple. We often try to capture these images during the 'getting ready' time.
Another piece of advice is to bring something to throw to the wedding tribe celebrations! Perhaps a bottle of bubbly for that dramatic spray shot (but keep it inexpensive because you'll lose most of it), or some eco-confetti. There is something about popping some bubbles and throwing confetti that puts a smile on everyone ' s face - a physical expression of how you are feeling!
Pets at weddings.... Yes please! I adore all kinds of animals It may help you limit your options, as some venues aren't as dog-friendly as others! It shows another aspect of your relationship, and allows you to take some cute family shots! We all know that a person ' s pets are always an important component of their relationship!
It's party time! Now that you ' re married, it's time to celebrate! I'll shoot some candid and group shots during the reception, so if you have any friends or extended family members you need photos with, now is the time!
During the reception, a lot of things happen, therefore I'll photograph everything And yes I'll be on the dance floor!
You have the freedom to make the reception your own! The possibilities are endless!
HERE ARE A FEW THINGS I OFTEN CAPTURE AT RECEPTIONS:
Detail images of your reception decorations and table settings Cake, etc.
Images of your guests - both portraits and documentary style
Documentary style images of events that happen during your reception that I am present for (depending on your reception timeline):
your entrance speeches
cake cutting
first dance parent dances
bouquet toss games
dance floor shenanigans
grand exit

I have been capturing wedding for over 10 years And have been honoured to tell the story of hundreds of couples
DO YOU OFFER ENGAGEMENT SESSIONS?
Yes, I love engagement sessions. They are a relaxed way for us to get to know each other, and get some casual images It is also a great way for you to feel more comfortable being photographed on your wedding day, as you'll already know what to except.
I’M UNSURE ABOUT TIMING OF THE DAY.
I help all my couples out with all of this - from to best time to get into your outfits, to when sunset is on your wedding day.
DO YOU HAVE BACK UP GEAR?
Yes, I have 4 camera bodies that I take to all weddings Along with a large variety of lenses, flash equipment, and more than enough memory cards for your day! All of your images are captured on two memory cards in each camera for safety back up reasons
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET OUR PHOTOS BACK AFTER THE CEREMONY?
I like to get you a sneak peak within a few days of your wedding. You will then receive your private online viewing gallery within 6 weeks It will have your edited images on it, along with a slideshow of your day
I would love to organise a meet and greet with you both and discuss your wedding plans and photography. As I am with my clients their whole wedding day I think it is so important for us to get to know each other before we sign any contracts and plan any details
I catch up with all my clietns before their wedding day - we plan the timeline, locations, family photo listings, everything! I don't want to be asking you questions on your wedding day. You enjoy the day and I already know what you want - we are all on the same page with everything
We fill out a contract, agree on details and start planning the whole thing! I'm available for you through-out the whole process, and have helpful tips and templates to help you with timelines, locations, and lists
This is the most fun and memorable part of the whole process, when we actually get to create together
When you marry the love of your life, you ask all of your closest friends and family to be there to rejoice with you and witness your union You want them to be there to share this special moment with you; you want to see their faces, their grins, their tears of joy and excitement as you walk down the aisle. You don't want to glance back down the aisle and find people taking shots of you with cameras and phones covering their faces
I've witnessed many situations where a guest's phone is sticking out into the aisle, obstructing not just the moment but also the images I'm capturing as your photographer. I strongly recommend having an unplugged ceremony to avoid phones dangling down the aisle and to allow guests to be more present
There are a few ways to inform your guests if you decide to have an unplugged wedding Tell them early through the invite by adding a line that says, ‘We would love you to be there, so we are having an unplugged wedding, please no photos during the ceremony ’ You can also request that the officiant make a brief announcement requesting guests to turn off their phones and refrain from taking photos
Based in Port Macquarie on the Mid North Coast of NSW, I specialise in lifestyle wedding and portrait photography Seeing intimate moments and capturing them creatively is what lights me up inside. I can show my clients how beautiful these interactions are, and give them images to remind them of the love they have for each other
