PLANTING A TREE FOR NVIRONMENT Jericho District shields news of investigation
BY GEORGE HABER
Declaring that a school-related issue involves "personnel" and is therefore protected from disclosure, Jericho School Board president Jill Citron said the results of a months-long investigation of an incident in the district would not be made public.
“The investigation has been completed,” Citron said, “and appropriate action is being taken.” She added, “Since this us a personnel matter nothing more can be said about it.”
"This is mind-boggling” charged Kevin McKenna, an independent reporter and founder of a cable news channel that covers Nassau County politics and events.
Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino congratulated Jackson Avenue Elementary School student Siddarth Yohan Natarajan, who took first place in the Town’s Environmental Poster Contest. As part of his first-place recognition, the Town planted a tree at his elementary school. Supervisor Saladino spoke to students at the school about the importance of protecting our environment and how choices they make every day impact Mother Nature and local communities. Supervisor Saladino and Siddarth are shown with Siddarth’s teacher Mrs. Spina and Jackson Avenue Principal Dr. Rivera.
