Swimming & diving team wins 20th consecutive County Championship
Coach Anne Sullivan with the County Champs! The Garden City girls varsity swimming & diving team finished the regular dual meet season undefeated at 8-0 and then took that momentum into Divisions and in dominating fashion won the Nassau County Division A Championship. Garden City then moved on to the Nassau County Championship Meet on November 2nd & 3rd. Showcasing their outstanding versatility and depth, the girls came through again
and triumphed, taking home their 20th consecutive Nassau County Championship! The county championship kicked off with preliminaries on Friday November 2nd. Swimmers had to qualify to compete at this level, and each team had a maximum of four swimmers per individual event and one relay team per event. No points are accrued during preliminaries, but the top 20 finishers in each event earn

their spot at finals, which were held on Saturday, November 3rd. Garden City was a force to be reckoned with at preliminaries, and as a result, placed many swimmers to participate in finals the next day and score points for the team. The team, supported by a large and energetic cheering section, came out firing on all cylinders at finals. The girls set the tone for the day immediately by taking
first place in the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:51:02, which qualified them for the New York State Championships. The Medley Team consisted of sophomore Katie Lew, sophomore Lauren Kuzma, senior Olivia Ragusa, and sophomore Sophia Boccio. Next, Junior NY State Qualifier Mia Bonvissuto followed up with a 2nd place finish in the 200 Freestyle, while junior Alana Brown and senior Elizabeth
