Port Rowing is open to all athletes from any school district!

Two and three-year-olds learn soccer with the Centennials.

The Port Rowing men’s and women’s high school teams traveled to Saratoga Springs in May to wrap up their regular season at the New York State High School Rowing Championships.

Leading the way for Port was the Men’s Freshman 8+, who took home golf and another New York State Championship for the Club. Other notable finishes included a strong 2nd place finish from the omen’s 4-, two bronze medal finishes by the Women’s 1st and 2nd Varsity 8+ boats and 4th place finishes by the Men’s 1st Varsity 8+, men’s 2nd Varsity 8+ and Women’s U16 4+x. Both scholastic and club teams compete at the New York State Championships which featured 63 teams and more than 600 entries across all events.

The Women’s 1st Varsity 8+, Varsity 4-, and U16x+ also represented Port Rowing at the US Rowing Youth National Championships on June 8–11 in Sarasota, Florida. This year’s regatta was the largest ever Youth National Championship featuring more than 4,000 athletes. The Women’s U16+x capped off a strong season with a 5th place finish in the B Level Final (13th overall). The Women’s 4- and 8+ faced fierce competition and raced well, finishing 22nd and 27th respectively. This was the team’s 9th consecutive appearance at the National Championship. The Port Rowing club team represents high schools throughout Long Island’s North Shore and beyond. Rowers come from Garden City, Great Neck, Port Washington, Roslyn, North Shore, Friends Academy, Jericho, and Herricks.
