Human-Centered Sustainable
Airport Terminal The proposed approach to Airport Terminal Design addressed in this project will put the needs of the user first. Previously, the design of public spaces in airports has been an afterthought with the air traffic space taking the main priority. For many, flying induces fear and anxiety. Sometimes simply being at an airport can trigger those feelings. It is our responsibility as designers to create a space in which the user feels comfortable, safe, and calm. The proposed spaces that will be developed are a short term airport hotel, a flex lounge (quiet zones, meditation room, cafĂŠ lounge), a honeybee apiary, a farm-to-table-beestro, and an urban garden
Sustainable/ Biophilic Design Sustainable, locally sourced materials (where possible) Elements found in nature Balanced Inviting, calming
Brain Stimulation Finally, to further enhance the user’s experience a learning zone will be implemented. With the proposed learning zone which incorporates nature, comes an opportunity for the user’s to be stimulated and entertained.
Wayfinding Logical signage easy to navigate Visual and audio cues Proposed terminal will include an app that aids you to move through the space. If a passenger does not have a smart phone they may rent a device for the duration of their stay

Airport Hotel Private and Semi Private Accommodations Too often, flyers find themselves in situations where they are in need of a last-minute hotel accommodation due to delayed flights or missed connections. This can be an extremely frustrating situation. To avoid this issue, the proposed Airport Terminal will offer private and semi-private sleeping accommodations.
