Ingredients

(makes 12 bars) 200g old fashioned rolled oats 100g butter
Introduction

Fuel their back-to-school adventure with these one-bowl, easy bake bars that are ideal for lunchboxes and full of natural goodness.
Top Tips

• Ensure your finished granola bars don’t crumble by packing down the mixture well in the pan before baking and leaving to chill in the fridge for an hour after. • Add an extra depth of flavour to your bars by toasting your oats and seeds first. Simply place them in your clean, dry baking pan and place in the oven for 5-10 minutes watching carefully in case they burn.
Method Step one Heat oven to 160C/fan 140C/ gas 3. Grease and line the base 16

2tbsp flax seeds 2tbsp chia seeds 3tbsp honey or maple syrup 1tsp dried cinnamon until golden in colour. Wait for the pan to cool entirely before cutting into 12 even bars. Granola bars can be stored for up to a week in an airtight container.

LINK-MAG FLEETWOOD MUSEUM (Charity No. 1168613) on Queens Terrace is housed in the oldest used building in the town, Grade 2 listed, designed by Decimus Burton and opened in 1838 as the first Customs House. We are open Tuesday - Saturday weekly 10.30am - 4pm.. Our shop, within the reception area, has numerous local interest books on sale, Fleetwood postcards, children's pocket money toys and unusual gifts. Why not pop in to look round? There is no entrance charge to use the coffee house or look round the shop, but a small entrance charge £3.00 Adults, £2.00 concessions and free admission for children up to 16 years of age applies for viewing the museum galleries. Unfortunately, due to steps and stairs, the museum building is not accessible to people with mobility difficulties. Our new exhibition this year is 'This Lass Can' featuring Fleetwood Women over the years who have made an impact in the town. We are grateful to the 'Friends of Fleetwood Museum' group who have sponsored this exhibition. Due to our short season last year we are continuing with our Fisherman's Friend 'Take a Deep Breath' exhibition, sponsored by Lofthouses of Fleetwood, which proved very popular. Also on view in our deep sea gallery are some artefacts from Fleetwood's heritage trawler, 'Jacinta' which has recently been scrapped. We are looking for new volunteers to help in front-of-house areas of the museum. If you are interested, please contact the museum. Supporter’s world record attempt for Trinity Hospice A charity supporter who last month jumped out of a plane and reached an incredible £10,000 in fundraising is about to embark on a recordbreaking challenge.

At the start of the pandemic, David Kay set out on a campaign to raise £10,000 for Trinity Hospice in two years. He spent months performing fundraising skits in fancy dress and putting on raffles, and, just one week after jumping out of a plane, he reached his target nine months early.
“I’d already put the wheels in motion for the space hop when I hit the £10,000. But I’m absolutely committed to this challenge, as I am to the charity.
But David, 54, is not giving up now. Later this month, he will attempt a world record for the longest distance travelled on a space hopper as he bounces the 20km between Fleetwood and Lytham. David, who lives in Singleton, said: “Before I reached

For 2021, the event will take place with revised dates and a new launch-pad. The stunning displays, which are set to music, will take place over the beach in front of The Blackpool Tower on alternate Saturday evenings starting on September 11 and continuing on September 25, October 9 and October 23. The countries that will compete for the title in 2021 are Germany, Russia and Ireland, with the fourth Saturday a showcase event by one of Europe’s leading fireworks companies, Titanium.
