1. Park - in - Transition Academic Production Period:

2020 Fall Thesis Studio / 4 months Individual work Instructors:

Prof. Bruce Hinds Prof. Dan Briker This project predicts a post-pandemic park challenge: its insufficiency to welcome dramatically increased visitors. Using post-WWII national parks in the United States as a historical precedent and national park's Mission 66 as a policy reference, this thesis asks if Ontario's park can seize the postpandemic era as an opportunity for revitalization. How can we use this new surging popularity for outdoor activities to set a new vision for Ontario's provincial park system? With the goal of re-animate circulations, this thesis proposes three sets of architectural interventions within Bronte Provincial Park - the first 'experimental urban park' in South Central Ontario. By programming these architectural objects interventions, they not only move the body but situate it within the region's broader sense of place.

2. Habitation Under a Bridge Academic Production Period:

2018 Fall Core Studio I / 4 months Individual work Instructor:

Prof. Stuart Reid Sheltering within public infrastructures is a universal phenomenon for homelessness, but those residences do not hold fundamental rights of privacy and comfort. This project takes the intersection of Toronto Gardiner Express Way / Spadina Ave as the site, and examines the "tent" city in Toronto as the site condition. This design process aims to find micro-architectural mitigations for a macro phenomenon that is the housing crisis. Begins by positioning myself as the user of this micro habitation.

3. Collective Play Academic Production Period:

2019 Winter Core Studio II / 4 months Individual work Instructor:

Prof. Martin Liefhebber This proposal envisions a community gathering space that invokes 'play' in our collective imaginary landscape. If architecture can invoke a sense of play through schematic programs, then it participates in the possibility of curating new cultures that arise from 'play'. Located at the intersection of King Street West / Dufferin Street is the heart of Toronto's Parkdale neighborhood. At this moment, the site is occupied by a fast-food chain store. This project proposes to replace the fast-food chain store with a community center that responds to different group needs during various hours in the day.

4. Farnsworth House Analysis Academic Production Period:

2018 Winter Core Studio I / 2 months All images and ideas have done in complete collaboration with: Sophya Barraza, Chalisa Polpanumas Instructor:

Prof. Rosalie Dawson An architecture investigation on Mies van der Rohe’s Farnsworth House. Above: a re-make of a 1:100 model base on preserved documentation of the house's plans and sections. Below: our interpretation of the house’s spatiality is expressed in a conceptual model - made with aluminum, oakwood, and acrylic - connected using the traditional dovetail joint method.

5. Tree elves and Interventions Academic Production Period:

2017 Fall Core Studio I / Three weeks Individual work Instructor:

Prof. Rosalie Dawson This sculptural exploration uses three tree roots found in the Ontario forest as the foundation, then uses plaster molded objects to represent human interventions. This project set the tree roots as the unmoveable pre-condition and proposes human interventions around the tree roots. This exploration asks: How do we live upon nature? From left to right: A lamp, a nest, a table

6. The gentle Gateway Professional Production Period:

September 2020 - Ongoing All images and ideas have done in complete collaboration with: Khalid Hassan Project funded by Kolab Project (Long Hot Summer - Extended Play) Presented by OCAD U Office for Public Worx This experimental object situates the COVID-19 pandemic as an urban choreographer of sorts. With social distancing taking over the urban psyche, how has it altered how we move through public space? This work proposes a gentle nudge towards organizing humans safely and purposefully within the public realm. As opposed to the new normal of “semi-circling” around others, this intervention aims to reintroduce linear modes of movement within the urban realm. Left: Conceptual diagrams illustrating the evolution of urban space circulation from pre-pandemic to socially distanced. Right: Conceptual model of the proposed public space installation in Grange Park, Toronto.

* The project is set to be built by February 2021

Approved by the city of Toronto and Grange Park Committee

7. POP - UP! Professional Production Period:

May 2019 - August 2019 / 4 months Internship Role: Model making Produced under the office of Breathe Architects - Martin Liefhebber and Associates This digitally fabricated model is based on architectural and construction plans. This project combines the digital world and our haptic reality using the laser cutting method with everyday material - paper. This project seeks to curate a light, tangible, visual model to assist the client and the practice's communication process. Left: Derivative kinetic calculations based on office plans. Right: a kinetic 11" x 7" paper model for the actualized house.

* All measurements and designs are based on Breath Architects construction and design plans
