elcome to our Focused on the Future Spring sale. As you may know it is our 20th year in the Limousin business. I once again pulled from the heart of the herd for our sale offering this year. You will find that I’m selling some older cows that are super productive, you will find that they are selling with great show heifers at side and most bred back to CFLX Woodstock and Smack down. These show heifers, along with consignments from our partners DeMar farms and Garrison farms are all eligible for the 4-States Limousin Assoc. “Run for the Roses” heifer futurity with a $2000 purse this fall. Several of our CFLX and DeMar farms heifers are also eligible for the 2016 Lone Star Shootout with an estimated $10,000 purse. These heifers will be notated in the catalog by a rose or Shootout emblem. We are excited to offer semen on Air Force One, a Limflex bull that remained undefeated during the 2014 show season. We purchased full possession of this bull during the 2015 National Western Stock Show in order to benefit our program moving forward. We will make this bull available for viewing on sale day, and upon seeing him we believe you will like him as much as we do. Therefore we are offering semen packages for purchase up until sale day and then removing him from the market for a full year. In addition, I wanted to do something special for our 20th anniversary year, so we are offering a highly valuable whitetail buck hunt on our ranch in Madisonville to be used during the 2015-2016 hunting season. Blane and I have been managing our wildlife since the purchase of the ranch and you will see the results are here. You will see the last two trophy bucks taken off the ranch by Blane pictured in the catalog and I think you will agree this could be exciting for one lucky buyer! Each time a lot is purchased in our sale the buyer’s name will be put in the hat for the drawing that is to be held at the conclusion of the sale. glossary of the SAle
Listed below are the descriptions and definitions of the terms that are used in this sale catalog and will be used from the auction block sale day. Please read them closely so that you will be familiar with the meaning of the terms used in the sale. OPEN - This is a virgin heifer that has never been exposed to any bull by any means or in the case of a cow, she has not been exposed to a bull by any means since the birth of her last calf. BRED - Female has been served by a bull or artificially inseminated to a bull but does not mean this female is safe in calf to that service. PASTURE EXPOSED - Female has been running in the pasture with the bull and has been exposed to the bull for a period of time as stated but does not necessarily mean that this female is safe in calf. SAFE IN CALF - Female has been palpated and diagnosed pregnant at the date of examination by a licensed veterinarian as per the accompanying signed veterinarian certificate. HEALTH PAPERS - Proper health papers furnished on all animals in the sale resulting from TB and Bangs test. A. TB TEST - animals have been tested for TB and found negative within 30 days of the sale, both males and females with the exception of young calves. B. BANGS TEST - animals have been tested by licensed veterinarian and have met the requirements for a negative test of the state in which animals sell. This includes all males and females except those exempted from this test due to age, calfhood vaccination, or certified Brucellosis free herd status. BREEDER - The owner or lessee of the dam at the time the dam was served to produce the calf.

PUREBRED - Those animals that are 94% or more Limousin. A. American Purebred - Those upgraded purebreds that are 94% or greater Limousin, and 6% or less other breed as indicated by the breed codes. Registration numbers beginning NPM (North American Purebred Male) and NPF (North American Purebred Female). B. Fullblood - Those purebred that are from 100% or full French ancestry. They have registration numbers beginning with NFM (North American Fullblood Male) and NFF (North American Fullblood Female).
HOMOZYGOUS POLLED - Individual has been DNA-tested to genetically “PP” or proven by parentage to be homozygous thus not carrying the “p” horned gene. LIM-FLEX - Denotes the Limousin-Angus hybrid that may vary in composition from 25-75% Limousin and 25-75% Angus or Red Angus with a maximum allowance of other breed or unknown genetics for 12.5%. EPD - Expected Progeny Difference - A user friendly way of summarizing performance information for quick reference. % RANK - Percentile breakdown that allows for quick reference when comparing individuals to current sires of the most recent calf crop recorded with NALF. MMIG TRU-POLLED TEST - MMI Genomics, Inc. of Davis, California, has recently offered their DNA test for the polled trait. Every animal has two copies of each gene. One copy of each is inherited from the sire, the other from the dam. Polled is the dominant gene, meaning animals with one or two copies of the polled gene will be phenotypically polled. Animals having two copies (Homozygous) for the polled gene with produce only phenotypically polled offspring. TruPolled results are reported in one of the following categories: - Homozygous Polled = Two (2) copies of the polled gene - Heterozygous Polled = One (1) copy of the polled gene - Horned = Zero (0) copies of the polled gene - Inconclusive = Test cannot determine if the animal has copies of the polled gene. Some homozygous polled cattle are results of both sire and dam being homozygous, thus they are marked homozygous polled (ped). The seller warrants that test samples have been accurately drawn and submitted and that all published results are accurately reported. The MMIG service is based upon scientific, biologic analysis and assessment of statistical probabilities. MMIG believes that there is a range of probabilities and does not assure 100% accuracy. The MMIG service may fail from time to time, and either not be able to make a determination or make an incorrect determination.

CFLX Zaida 415B is one of the brightest stars in the Lim-Flex portion of the breed. The February heifer calf is homozygous polled and homozygous black, from some of the richest and most successful genetic lines in the industry. Her phenotype is superb, and the female can handle some of the most difficult competition in the show ring. She combines all the best in the industry of both the Limousin and Angus breeds, and she sells as a most unique breeding piece to the most critical and determined breeder. The EPD balance and trait-leading genetic linkage is impressive and curve bending. She paces the breed EPDS for weaning, yearling, maternal, ribeye and marbling. Few individuals in the breed can match her profile and trait balance. Her dam, PSRF Zaida 238, is one of the most impressive donor females in the Counsil And Tubmill Creek programs. The first daughter that sells here can chart a new course of Lim-Flex and Limousin history.

Open CFLX Cookie Cutter 615B is the April heifer calf that is the full sister to CFLX Woodstock 784W. The uniquely constructed female has one of the most striking patterns in the offering. The heifer can be a competitive female for the most dedicated showman, and she has the genetic backing to continue the success that has been attained by her family members.
The progeny by DHVO Trey 133R have been some of the most competitive individuals in the breed. Countless champions have been won by his sons and daughters. Her dam, AUTO Cookie Cutter 295R, has become one of the face card donor females in the industry. The daughter of BR Midland is evident in many of the most competitive pedigrees in the breed. “run for the roses” futurity All “Z” model heifers except CFLX 011Z and CFLX 012Z are “Run for the Roses” Futurity eligible to show at the East Texas State Fair in Tyler. The Open Limousin Show will be held in September 2015. There will be a $2,000 purse with a $1,000 payout to the Grand Champion and $500 to the Reserve Grand Champion. The remainder of the money will be divided among the remaining females at show. Heifers must sell in the ring to the buyer listed as the owner at the show in September. This is an open futurity for juniors and adults.
texAs lone stAr shoot-out Several of these heifers are also eligible for the Texas Limousin Associations “Lone Star Shoot-Out” Futurity. This event will be held at the Fort Worth Stock Show, Junior Heifer Show in January 2015. Only open to Texas 4-H and FFA members.
