INTERVIEW WITH

CELESTE ALEXANDER SPACES PLEASE INTRODUCE THE CELESTE ALEXANDER SPACES TEAM:

As a young person, not seeing my profession anywhere in the neighborhood with people of color, was extremely difficult. I always knew I wanted to be an interior designer though I didn't know what it was called. I just knew that I wanted to make everyone's house beautiful and welcoming. I'm a sole business owner, though I do have an assistant and a team of subcontractors that work alongside with me to accomplish my vision and client goals. TELL US ABOUT YOUR EFFORTS IN RAISING ENTREPRENEURS:

These efforts were a priority because I knew that's what made me successful in my 20year journey of being an entrepreneur. I may work some 10-hour days, I may have 3 days off or even leave for a week to enjoy vacation at my leisure. However, through all of my trial and errors, I was able to pass the lesson on to my children who are now in real estate insurance and life estate planning. Once I realized that Georgia was a right to work state and that wages were not competitive with other states, I realized that I had to give my children the gift of entrepreneurship. I had to teach them to believe in their gifts and talents and have faith in God. I also took them along with me to networking events and taught them not to be afraid or standoffish, but to take an interest in other people's interests, so they would in return, take an interest in them and use their contacts to leverage business relationships. Lastly, I taught them to take the emotions out of business, so that things were done properly and not out of reaction.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU SHARE WITH YOUNG WOMEN THAT ARE INTERESTED IN ENTREPRENEURSHIP?

The advice that I would give is to learn all that you can from seasoned business owners. Don't let people take advantage of you because you're new, know your worth and understand what value you bring to the person's life or situation. Lastly, know what separates you from the next and always plan your next move. WHAT IS NEXT FOR YOU IN 2018?

We are compiling a digital magazine of interior design and lifestyle for the African American community. Also, we strive to have more speaking engagements, more mentorships and just making sure that I enjoy my life to the fullest. HOW CAN READERS CONNECT WITH YOU ONLINE AND THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA?

Readers can find me at www.CAspaces.com, on Instagram @CelesteAlexanderInteriors, on Facebook at Celeste Alexander spaces and my email is decoratingsista@yahoo.com. My direct line is: 7703107793.

INTERVIEW

SAMANTHA DELOACHE WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO BECOME A MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKER?

My love for talking has truly been the catalyst behind me becoming a motivational speaker. I have always enjoyed making conversations and oftentimes as a child got in trouble for talking too much in school (lol). I have also received a lot of practice in public speaking by doing the announcements in my different churches since middle school. As I got older, I realized that I could use my voice and my words for a greater purpose and meaning. I didn’t want to just talk, but actually have something meaningful, powerful and perhaps, even life-changing to say. I want to be able to encourage and inspire others to believe in themselves and embrace their individualities. I want to be a speaker that I would in fact, want to listen to and learn from. Whenever I speak, I try to find ways that I can make the message personal and heartfelt, while still addressing the topic at hand. I feel the most important thing as a speaker that you can do is to connect with your audience and help them realize that you care about them. In a world with so much negativity, I want to be a positive force who is able to engage her audience and leave them wanting to hear more! WHERE DID THE ACRONYM "M.O.D.E.L" COME FROM AND WHAT DOES IT STAND FOR?

I created the acronym M.O.D.E.L on Easter Sunday this year. I was sitting around the table after dinner with my sister and was thinking intently on how I wanted the word "model" to mean more than its standard definition. I wanted to express to the world that anyone can be a model. A model doesn’t have to be reserved for a certain look, style, or body type. We all are models in our own right. M.O.D.E.L to me means a Mindset Of Daily Excellent Living. That means everyday everyone can make a decision to be better than they were the day before. We can all make choices to ensure that we are living our best life each day. There are more detailed ways that you can “model” these steps to living an excellent life that I do discuss, but if you want the full details you need to go to my website so you can invite me to your next event and I will be glad to share more with you! www.samanthadeloache.com

WHAT IS YOUR ADVICE TO SIMILAR WOMEN LIKE YOU WHO ARE ON A CAREER PATH COMPLETELY UNRELATED TO THEIR PASSION OF GETTING INTO THE MODELING, ACTING AND ENTERTAINMENT WORLDS?

The advice I would offer to women that are on a career path completely unrelated to their passion is to stay consistent, invest in your dream and be ok with having to do it alone or with individuals you don’t know. Consistency is so huge because things don’t always happen right away and we give up too soon before we can really start gaining momentum. The only way you are going to really break ground and make progress is if you keep moving. Remember, that slow progress is still progress! You can have 5 years of solid work and it can appear like nothing is happening on the surface and then in year 6 experience your breakthrough! WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN THE NEXT 5 YEARS?

Prayerfully, in 5 years, I will be able to have completely transitioned from my work as a full-time pharmacist and be working full time as an entrepreneur/model/actress. I also would like to be in a committed relationship that is heading to marriage, if I am not already married, and beginning to grow my family. HOW DO YOU BALANCE BEING A PHARMACIST AND YOUR MODELING CAREER?

I balance my career as a model and pharmacist by setting my schedule that includes weekly and monthly goals. Each month I know what my expectations are and I try my very best to achieve them. My schedule can be very hectic on certain days and leave not much room for anything extra, but I have learned to maximize my time fully and take advantage of that downtime. I rely heavily on my calendar to keep up with appointments, auditions, and meetings. HAVE YOU EVER BEEN DISCOURAGED WHILE VENTURING INTO THE MODELING INDUSTRY? IF SO, HOW DID YOU GET OUT OF THAT NEGATIVE MINDSET?

Oh yes! I have definitely been discouraged while venturing into the modeling industry. I felt like I was too old, not the right body type, and unsure of how I would stand out in the crowd of so many other models! I have felt just about every negative emotion that is possible when it came to pursuing my dream. I just had to make a conscious decision that what God had for me was for me. I had to come to the realization that I had something unique to offer the world that only I can bring and that I had to give it my all. We have many fast food restaurants offering the same menus but they still have their faithful customers and their OWN success. I had to learn to love my flaws and my uniqueness and stop comparing myself. When I truly began to embrace and fully love myself, I gained a lot more confidence and courage in my ability. WHAT WAS THE ONE EXPERIENCE THAT CHANGED YOUR LIFE FOR THE BETTER?

What has changed my life for the better is truly not just one experience. I’ve made a collection of good decisions that have shaped and improved my life for my advancement. My story is still unfolding and still being written. The most exciting thing is that the best parts haven’t even made it to paper yet! I’m still anticipating, praying, preparing and doing my part to watch it be the best it can absolutely be! I do know that whatever will be the ultimate outcome, I will be able to look at all of my life experiences and be satisfied because I gave it my best shot! HOW DO YOU REMAIN POSITIVE AND MENTALLY HEALTHY IN TODAY’S WORLD, WHERE SO MUCH NEGATIVITY SURROUNDS US?

I remain positive and mentally healthy in today’s world because of my faith. I attend church regularly, pray without ceasing and am involved in many activities that promote reliance on God and not my own strength. I also unplug from television and social media for periods of time because often the imagery we put into our minds from those sources can be overwhelming and affect us negatively. So, I am always aware of what I am subjecting myself to and when I feel depressed, anxious or very negative, I change the environment. I also try to surround myself around encouraging women and platforms (such as Glamambitious) that promote the positivity of women and a sisterhood.

INTERVIEW

COACH JASS INTRODUCE YOURSELF TO OUR READERS AND TELL US ABOUT YOUR BRAND:

My name is Jasmine Nicole and I'm an established life coach out of Decatur, Georgia. Growing up, I found myself helping, guiding and being an accidental activist. I would feed and clothe the less fortunate and march for rights. As time passed, I noticed the world, especially young people, needed me for guidance. I could no longer sit back and wait for someone to save my neighborhood and the people that look like me. So, I went back to school, became a Certified Life Coach and launched a non-profit. I am now known as 'Life Coach Jass' or 'The Savvy Fempreneur.' WHAT KEY TIPS WOULD YOU SHARE WITH WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS AS IT RELATES TO BECOMING MORE SAVVY IN THEIR BUSINESS EFFORTS?

Research and Study. Do not depend on someone to give you the information or keys to success. Master your gift because it’s your gift. Pitfalls, obstacles, loss of friendships, missing the fun events and more will happen. Stay the course of love. Your season will not miss you. I remember wanting certain things and it not happening - I later learned that I wasn’t dreaming big enough. My purpose was greater and so is yours. The money is already being printed. The next step is finding something that has value and making it work for you. I believe in you. WHAT IS NEXT FOR YOU IN 2018?

In September, I will be launching my Social Club and mentoring program for high school girls. This program is called Savvy Girls Club (SGC). We will be preparing young women for adulthood and help them navigate them through the present. We are currently accepting members and partnerships in Atlanta and surrounding areas. Our signature program is the Savvy Business Bestie program. I love this coaching program because it is very detailed and intensive. It is customized for everyone. During that time, we will make sure you are clear about business and you leaving running a profitable business. You will be business savvy.

INTERVIEW WITH

SHANTAQUILETTE

DEVELLE

INTRODUCE YOURSELF AND BRAND/BUSINESS TO OUR READERS:

My name is Shantaquilette Develle and I’m the Editor and Chief Of Style Follows Her, a media and creative design company that inspires, educates, unites, and entertains real women with a creative spirit. Through our content, events, and products, we enable women to use creativity to shape their future and live a purposeful life through traditional values and modern-day ideals. I’m also an interior decorator, event stylist, and image consultant. I’m the founder of the Pink Peppermint Project, a 501c3 that empowers women affected by breast cancer with a compassionate and practical approach to their emotional, physical and informational needs through our M.I.N.T model Motivate, Inspire, Nurture and Transform. I have an MBA in Forensic Accounting with an emphasis in Economic Fraud and Financial Analysis. By trade, I work for the Department of Treasury.

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO PURSUE THIS AREA OF INTEREST?

I’m driven by the passion to empower and inspire women. I wanted to take women by their creative hands and get them out of their comfort zone and use creativity to live their best life. It’s important to me that women create their own path, be accountable to their goals and make dreams happen. WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU SHARE WITH LADIES REGARDING TAKING THE LEAP TO PURSUE THEIR PASSIONS?

Step out on faith and take a risk!

God would never give you a vision without the tools to succeed. Not taking a risk has the same exact outcome as failure - you end up right back where you started. If you don’t try, you’ll never know how your dream could have turned out. Your life could really transform. Take that risk. Chase your dreams and don’t spend your life thinking about the things you could have done!! WHAT EFFORTS ARE NEXT FOR YOU IN 2018?

In August, I’m hosting a party for Nordstrom’s, debuting an exclusive fragrance for Chanel and we’re also planning our 2nd Annual Glamcon experience catered to breast cancer survivors and supporters, giving them a day to reinvigorate, rejuvenate and transform. INTERVIEW WITH

DANIELLE TUWANO WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO LAUNCH YOUR FILM COMPANY, ONE2TEN FILMS?

Launching One2Ten Films in 2015 was a leap of faith. After spending a few years behind the scenes assisting on multiple production sets as a PA and script supervisor, I decided to BOSS UP! I wanted to create and produce compelling content all while creating endless opportunities for aspiring writers, producers, and directors. The launch of One2Ten Films, in addition to our debut film Good Girl, opened bountiful doors for both our cast and crew.

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO PURSUE THIS AREA OF INTEREST?

As a multi-hyphenate: wife, mother, entrepreneur, writer, motivational speaker and influencer, I wear many hats. Underneath those hats are my truth. My truth and willingness to be transparent encouraged me to be a motivational speaker. I realized that things that we go through in life are not always for us, but for the betterment of someone else to take a leap of faith towards success. WHAT TOP TWO MESSAGES DO YOU CONVEY TO AUDIENCES?

1. Be Sure of Yourself: Being sure of yourself eliminates you having to seek validation from others. Your YES is good enough! 2. Be Confident: You can go to school for a lot of things but there is not a confidence course. Confidence lies within, and ultimately results in quality work and outcomes.

AS A SUCCESSFUL ENTREPRENEUR, YOU KNOW WHAT IT TAKES TO RUN A BUSINESS. WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO OTHER ENTREPRENEURS WHO ARE EXPERIENCING A CURRENT LOW IN THEIR JOURNEY?

My advice to anyone that is at a current low on their journey is to know that wins and losses are a part of the process. Do not give up or lose hope, but instead enjoy the journey of entrepreneurship. There will be highs and lows but consistency is key. Great things take time. When you rush things, you ruin things.

WHAT IS NEXT FOR YOU AND YOUR BRAND IN 2018?

As an ongoing effort to educate, inspire, and empower, I will be adding author to my growing list of titles this year. My guide book will provide tips and strategies on how to become a successful entrepreneur. I strongly encourage everyone to #DiscoverDanielle and stay connected with me by signing up for my newsletter at www.DanielleTuwano.com. You may also follow me on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram @DanielleTuwano.

INTERVIEW WITH

NIKKI

PAYNE

INTRODUCE YOURSELF AND TELL US WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO BECOME A BEAUTYPRENEUR?

In a time where the side effects of international cosmetic surgery and black market procedures are being brought to the forefront, I wanted to introduce the option of affordable non-invasive procedures. WHAT SERVICES/PRODUCTS ARE OFFERED THROUGH VAIN BODIES BY NIKKI?

Vain Bodies by Nikki offers non-invasive lipo cavitation, laser lipo, skin tightening, buttocks enhancements and cellulite treatments. HOW WOULD YOU SAY SELF-CARE AND SELF-CONFIDENCE GO HAND-IN-HAND FOR WOMEN?

Low self-confidence can be the result of how a person views themselves. Self-care allows a person to take some form of control over their appearance which results in higher self-esteem. THE DEMANDS OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP ARE HEAVY, WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU SHARE WITH READERS FOR MAINTAINING POSITIVE MENTAL HEALTH THROUGH THEIR JOURNEY AS A SMALL BUSINESS OWNER?

The advice that I would share with small business owners is to always schedule yourself a lunch break and at least 15 minutes in between clients (if possible). Weekly, you should also try to take half a day where you do nothing work related. This will ensure that you will be mentally capable to handle the duties of your business.

WHAT IS NEXT FOR YOUR AND HOW CAN READERS CONNECT WITH YOU ONLINE?

Next quarter, I am going to begin to offer post-op services for people that have gone through traditional liposuction, tummy tucks, Brazilian butt lifts, breast augmentations, etc. You can connect with me online at www.vainbodies.com or on Instagram @vainbodies_bynikki.
