An Expedition to an Unknown Planet

A Journey to a Secret Planet The day finally came. I was so excited about going to space. I haven’t travelled a lot in my life, but going into space to an unknown planet made a weird feeling in my stomach. I got up early that morning. I couldn’t sleep!
I
dressed up and actually ran towards NASA laboratory. When I finally got there, they dressed me in some funny white clothes. They introduced me to some other kids that shared a rocket with me. We bacame friends very fast. After we were given all the instructions, we were finally able to fly into the space. We got on the rocket and they shot us up to a secret planet. It was pretty dark on the road but we could see a lot of funny things. I remember I saw something in a shape of a cow. It was made from gas and it looked funny, we all laughed. We also saw the Moon and it was so big. My friend actually fainted because she was so happy and excited. When we arrived to the planet, we were all kind of surprised because it was so small and the rocket could barely land on it. But as we were exploring the planet, we found a pair of socks and an empty bottle. After about an hour we got back into the rocket and flew back to the Earth. I asked someone from NASA if someone else was living on any other planets apart from the Earth, and he said that this would be impossible because there is no oxygen in space, but they are still researching. I believe they will find someone out there some day, because it just seems logical. Anja Artiček
Planet Gumba Hello NASA, I am going to describe my trip to planet Gumba, how it looks and if there is any life in the galaxy except on the Earth. The trip was great fun but dangerous too. There were a lot of asteroids that could blow my ship up, so I had to evade them. But I almost got hit and after a while I finally got there. The planet was light blue with purple speck trees that grew from the planet and you could see them from space. There were some strange clouds circling the planet and some strange satellites with a couple of moons. As I landed I saw a city with alien type structures with some weird rock. I saw the residence with soldiers, and me and my crew decided it was too dangerous to land so we went back home to tell the story. We have the proof we are not alone in the universe, so we might meet these beings from the other planet one day. I believe it’s only a question of time how long it will take them to find us, or how long it will take for us to find more planets. Rok Ţavski
The Cosbyson We went on a mission to discover a new planet sometime in the past. The idea was that we would fly to New York by plane, where we would be transferred to a spaceship which would launch early in the morning. A lot of media was talking about it and it was really hyped. We had a lot of pressure on us and a lot of determination to find that planet. We left the Earth and entered the stratospheric atmosphere. It was really beautiful up in space because you could see your planet from uptop and it really looked great. We also saw other planets like Pluto, Mars, Saturn and Jupiter. They were all very pretty and I liked them. We were randomly floating in space hoping to find a new planet when Bill Cosby said he saw a little dot in the distance. We didn’t believe him because it was Bill, but we went for it anyway. From a distance it looked like a bright yellow planet with its own moon. It looked just like Earth, but different colours. When we approached the planet, it was very freaky. The gravity there was like the Moon’s one, so we were just floating in the air when we entered the planet and unboarded the spaceship. We discovered that the material on the ground was sand. Most of the sand was even floating in the air because of the low gravity in that area. In the distance we saw some palm trees, which was very strange because they could not grow in this type of ground. It was a really beautiful planet. Bill Cosby wanted to name it since he discovered it. After a long fight we let him name it. He named it The Cosbyson. We abandoned the Cosbyson and headed back for planet Earth. When we told the news to the world, they were all very proud and happy. We turned the pressure into relief. Bill Cosby got especially famous from the most of us. That journey was very good and we all agreed to go on it again sometime, even Bill Cosby. Aljaţ Kumberger
I Would Travel to Space Space is very interesting and strange to humanity because we still don’t know all facts about it. If I had the opportunity to go to space, I wouldn’t miss it. I would love to explore new planets. I would have the most advanced technology and I would travel with my friends. I guess, it’s boring and lonely if you don’t have anything around you. Our journey would be comfortable with no problems. After one day of travelling we would reach the planet. It would be same as the Earth, but humans would not be 'in charge'. There would be apes in the role of human. Just like in the film Planet of the Apes. This planet maybe exists. I’m sure that in the middle of nowhere there is a planet and it has life on it. Space isn’t small and we won’t know if there’s life like on the planet Earth for a long time. Aljaţ Ţafran
Sweet Planet Last year I travelled to space. I launched my rocket and started to fly. When I was halfway my trip, I was scared. Everything in the rocket was moving. When I finally came to the planet I wanted to come to, I stepped down on this planet. This planet’s name was Tropis. The planet was big, clean and everything that was on it was sweet for everybody. When I arrived to this planet, I took a long, hard look at it. I found so many interesting things. Suddenly I saw a big golden rock. I took it and then a policeman saw me. He arrested me and I was sent to jail. I was in jail for two months. All the people from the Earth were missing me. When finally these two months passed, I went on my rocket and travelled back to the best planet in space – the Earth.

Wake up! This trip was the best trip of my life. We started it in a little town called Guapa. I went on this trip with my friend and we went there by car. When we arrived in Guapa, we saw a big rocket. We were so excited and nervous, because we planned this trip for about seven months. My friend’s boyfriend was a pilot, so he knew how to fly the rocket. We flew very fast and for about three days. When we arrived, I was very scared. The planet was all pink and small. I wanted to see it closer, so I slowly put my feet on the planet. It was soft like a fluffy blanket. It had restaurants, hotels, markets and everything that a normal person needs. OMG and in the end of the street, there were aliens! All were pink, including men. When I turned around, I saw a very strong light and I heard a voice telling me »Wake up, you’ll be late for school!« So I woke up, and realised that I was just dreaming. And if I believe in aliens? I can only say that my dreams do not lie. Daša Zeme
Planet Janez I have been on an amazing journey to a planet which I named Janez. It all started when I saw a planet I’ve never noticed before. It seemed strange to me, so I went to an old professor in the astronomy centre. He said I had just discovered a new planet. I was very happy. I went to NASA next day and they approved the trip. The journey was great, we had some smaller problems, but we solved them. When we landed on Janez, we were thrilled! We didn’t need space suits because there was pure
oxygen! We were so happy, we just found a planet a human could live on. But our journey had time limits, so we had to go home too soon. But I think there could be life on Janez. The space is so big that there is no way life exists only on the Earth. But that’s just my opinion, maybe I’m wrong, maybe I’m not. Jan Fidler
Top Secret When I woke up in the morning, I was excited because that day was a big day for me. I ran into the bathroom, I cleaned my teeth and outside the window I saw a black car waiting for me. So I grabbed my stuff and said goodbye to my parents. We drove for like an hour and we arrived to the NASA centre where we got the space suits and we revised what to do in different situations if something went wrong. Then a car drove us to the launch site. At the launch site there were only few people watching the take-off from special bunkers. This project was top secret and only my parents and I knew this. We went to the rocket and did the final tests of the hardware. Then we sat down on special seats and we had to wear special seat belts that would keep us from falling off the seat. Then the countdown started. 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 Take off! Then the rocket engines started and the noise was almost unbearable. When we started moving, the pressure was huge, I couldn’t move a toe on my foot. When we reached the space, it was strange. I was light as a feather, the autopilot was on and a message from
the Earth came on the speaker and asked us if we were all okay. And our expedition team leader replied that we were. Then he said the we could leave the seats and experience zero gravity. So I unstrapped and floated around the control room. It was great and other team members liked it too. We could do all kinds of cool experiments with water and other materials. It was lots of fun and the ten days of travel passed quickly. The last day we had to sit on our seats again and fasten our seat belts because landings can be a bit rough. We could see the planet and it was like Mars but with more livable temperatures. Then we started to pick up speed because of the gravitational force of the planet. The landing was not that bad and when we landed, we couldn’t float anymore but we could still jump higher than on the Earth. Then our leader said that we could prepare for the exploration of the planet, so we took our special cameras and we hopped in our suits. Then we went to a room next to exit and the leader closed the doors and opened the exit door. We heard the oxygen hiss from the room. We just climbed the ladder and the first one to step on the undiscovered planet was me. The other members climbed down and the last one was the leader because he had to close the big exit doors of the rocket. We took our cameras and special bags and we took all kinds of samples and photographs and videos. We had only two hours because of the low oxygen stock. We came back to the rocket all tired but happy. This lasted for three days and then was the time to leave the planet. We prepared everything for the take-off and we sat on our seats again. We took off and this was not so bad because of the weaker gravitational force. We just played card games and talked because now gravity was not that interesting anymore. We came to the Earth and we sat on our seats and did all the landing process again. When we came down, we felt like we had a ton. We were so light on that planet, so we forgot how it was on the Earth. We gave our samples and photos to scientists to study them and we went home. Our parents were so happy to see us alive. And only one year after that they showed our adventure on TV. Jan GradiÄ?
Daddy, Help! Our research started when we decided to go on a new planet. I asked my dad to help. He knows everything about planets around us. One morning we woke up early and went to dad’s garage. I was so scared, because I didn’t know what we could expect. I knew that my dad had a brand new computer, which could send you to other planets. We turned on the computer and everything around us was blue and black. I didn’t even press the keys. Suddenly we were on another planet. It was so scary. The planet was red and black. It had small lines. I saw a small eye on the edge. I thought that the eye was from an animal. Then we saw the skull and a part of an arm. I screamed and ran to the edge. I didn’t know what to do, I felt guilty. I remembered that my father said that if I’m ever in trouble I must scream “Daddy, help!” and I’ll be right back at home. And I just closed my eyes and I was in front of my dad. He was so angry and I knew that he was disappointed. I think that we can’t live on other planets. We must breathe, but on other planets there isn’t air except on the planet where I was, but on the other hand it isn’t safe there. I think that our planet Earth is beautiful, but we must protect it if we want to stay on it as long as possible. Maša Zeme
A Long Journey We travelled by spaceship. The journey was very long, but I saw a lot of planets and stars. We ate in the spaceship and for many years we didn’t go out of the ship. In the ship we had computers, wardrobes and a lot of things. Every evening we watched TV or played computer games. I took a lot of pictures of planets and stars. Then we saw a planet which was all red and orange, it was very large and very hot. We did not know who lived on it. But when we came there, we saw nobody around. On the planet there wasn’t any water, there weren’t any buildings nor the traffic. On the planet there wasn’t life. So I believe, nobody lives on other planets. Nejc Gubenšek
Exploring a New Planet Last week I was travelling in space with some people who invited me to go with them. I was really excited if we were going to find a new planet. Then they told me that we were going on a new planet that they had already found, but we were going to research it. When we were flying, all the stuff that I took with me was flying too. It was really awesome. I didn’t know that, so a lot of things were new to me. When we landed on the planet, I was just asking myself if life exists here too. The planet was so empty, nobody was there and nothing was there. It was brown colour, there were some holes on the ground, but nothing else. I think there was no oxygen, because we were wearing special suits. So I think that life on this planet is impossible, but I believe that somewhere there is a planet where life exists. Scientists have to keep on exploring the space, because if we find a new planet where life exists, that would be a big step for the whole world. Nina Šentjurc
Chosen for a Space Journey I was very lucky, NASA randomly chose one student in each country. The headmistress said that I was going to an unknown planet. We were very surprised that I was chosen. 14 days later I went to the airport. All the European students flew from the Vienna’s airport. The flight took 16 hours, this was the first time I was ever on a plane. The plane took off in America in Washington. When we went out of the plane, we met the American president Barack Obama. He was glad to see us, he was really friendly and he wished us good luck. Then we went to a hotel and refreshed ourselves. From the hotel we went with the NASA Corp. They showed us what their work is like.
Then we got special uniforms and then we had to put them on. They did some tests on us, and then they said we were ready to go. Next day we went to the rocket. They did the countdown and when they said “Zero!”, the rocket flew to the space. When we were in space, we watched the Earth how small it looked. When we got to the unknown planet, we got out of the spaceship and looked how beautiful the planet was. The planet was in orange colour, and it had small holes. In the small holes there was ice. In the ice there were fish-like creatures, maybe aliens. They looked really weird. We took photographs and recorded the footage of us on the planet, and then we left. Robi Jazbinšek
