what’s new in arjeplog this season? There have been many changes in Arjeplog during the last year that have affected and still do affect many people. These are some of the most important ones, some of which we will write about in detail in the coming issues of The Arjeplog Times.
The biggest change that is noticeable by car testers and locals alike is the fact that there is a new management of the Silverhatten/ Kraja/Silver Lodge concern. This change began in April, despite the uproar and demonstrations concerning this financial cutback. However, there are ambulances available and sisters at the clinic and we will write more about emergency services in the coming weeks.
There is also a new ice hotel called Iglootel in Abborrträsk near Arvidsjaur that FlyCar has built and where you can spend a night or two enjoying the cold, arctic winter.
Talking of medical care, former local doctor, Bo Henricson died last week after a sudden illness. He had worked at the medical centre Bo Henricson in Arjeplog for 37 years before his retire-
The Kommun now has a new website, but unfortunately it is only in Swedish, so far. The web camera facing Lake Hornavan is not functioning but the one facing the market square is still active.
Nordic Air Sweden are planning flights from Arvidsjaur Airport via Umeå to Copenhagen and London, starting at the end of February. Perhaps a good alternative to Nextjet.
