Escape sign luminaires The small form factor of LEDs paves the way for less bulky, visually unobtrusive escape sign luminaires. In terms of energy use, LEDs are attractive given their low power consumption and high light output ratios. Zumtobel builds on these capabilities by bringing innovative lighting technology into play in order to illuminate escape signs uniformly with luminance levels in conformity with relevant standards. Teamed with high-performance thermal management, long-lived LEDs guarantee total freedom from maintenance.
Another Zumtobel highlight: a maintenance function in all ONLITE LED luminaires automatically compensates for decreases in the luminous flux of LEDs as they age. This means that LEDs can initially be operated at a 70 % dimming level. This level is continuously increased to 100 % over the burn life of the LED. This has a major advantage – the luminance level of the escape sign luminaire remains constant throughout its entire service life and, at the same time, the LED luminaire’s service life is extended.
