Celebrating 75 Years of the NHS

In commemoration of the 75 th anniversary of the National Health Service (NHS), a momentous occasion in the history of healthcare in England, Lifting Projects UK’s (LPUK) remarkable 50-tonne lifting tray found a meaningful purpose in being used to help position the iconic 1940s Daimler DC27 ambulance outside the headquarters of the NHS in Waterloo.

The 05 July 1948 became a significant date in the UK as this was when the NHS was established, marking a transformative milestone in English healthcare. During its inaugural year, the Daimler DC27 ambulance stood at the forefront, exemplifying the dedication and commitment of the NHS.

LPUK’s impressive lifting tray was enlisted to help to showcase this historic ambulance. The striking display pays homage to the NHS in recognising its invaluable contributions made to the nation’s health and well-being for the past 75 years.

Mental Health First Aid

Lifting Gear and Safety has been running mental health first-aid courses for staff, which are being well-received and appreciated. These courses assist employees in a number of ways; including help in spotting the signs and symptoms of common mental health issues; how to provide non-judgemental support and reassurance and; tips to guide a person towards seeking needed professional support.
