Scrap the welfare cap on the poor – many of whom are in work but don’t earn enough to live on – and enforce a cap on bankers’ bonuses. The Green Party wants to raise the minimum wage to a ‘living wage’ of £10 an hour by 2020.

Green Party MP Caroline Lucas is proposing a bill in Parliament that will reduce fares by 10% and bring our railways back into public ownership. When rail franchises expire the public will save around ÂŁ1 billion a year by not subsidising private shareholders.

We propose a Wealth Tax of 1-2% on UK citizens with assets of more than £3 million which would raise £21-£43 billion a year.
