VISION

The vision is to challenge everyone everywhere to ask the question, "What can I do to make things better?"

MISSION

The mission is to help the local church be the church in order to fulfill the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:30-31) and the Great Commission (Matthew 28:1820).

What can you do to make things better?

We want to challenge everyone everywhere to do something that will make things better. We don't care what you do, we just care that you do something that will help make things better.

With our country in a state of crisis on many levels, the need for the church to be the church and the people of God to step up is greater than ever.

Doing Better Together is a campaign designed to be the response to this season by being the hands and feet of Jesus.

Let the church be the church and the body of Christ share the love of Christ in every tangible and personal way possible.

ABOUT LIFETOGETHER Lifetogether is all about resourcing ministry, and you’re holding one of the latest resources we’ve created to inspire, equip, and empower the Church to be the Church for such a time as this. In these pages, you’ll learn about our ministry and our past projects in addition to where we are headed next as we commit to Doing Better Together.

I came to Christ in college because someone took a chance and invited me to join a small group Bible study. I heard the dangerous message of the Gospel in a safe place, and was encouraged to gather some friends of my own and start a new group. Seven of the young men in that group ended up accepting Christ, and three of them made the decision for full-time ministry.

Over the years I’ve had the privilege of working on staff at some of the largest churches in the country, including Saddleback and Willow Creek, but the genius of a small group program is it can work for a church of any size, in any location. In fact, at Lifetogether we believe small groups are one of the most significant, effective ways to disciple existing Christians and evangelize seekers.

Over the last 20 years we have partnered with ministries, published major projects, and produced on-camera over 2,500 pastors, authors, and church leaders. We have also produced and published projects with dozens of the leading Christian publishers and partnered with many of the largest and fastest-growing Christian ministries.

THE PROBLEM

With our country in a state of crisis on many levels because of the pandemic, racial injustice, financial crisis, economic recovery, political unrest, and the condition of the Church, the need for the Church to be the Church and the need for the people of God to step up is greater than ever before. The Doing Better Together challenge is designed to be a response to this season by being the hands and feet of Jesus and to engage every member of the body of Christ to share the love of Christ.

01 COVID-19 + ECONOMIC UNCERTAINTY

As the COVID-19 Pandemic continues to paralyze our world, more and more people are being consumed by fear and anxiety. This growing crisis and subsequent mental health issues and economic collapse has become a great challenge for the local church to keep people encouraged, inspired and hopeful.

02 RACIAL INJUSTICE + POLITICAL POLARIZATION

The issue of race in our country and our world has received global attention in light of horrific acts of injustice. It has created division in some areas politically, but unity in many areas collectively. In the current climate, the church has the opportunity to bridge the gap and be a catalyst for reconciliation like we've never seen before.

03 CHURCH DOORS ARE CLOSED

As the world tries to navigate the complexity and difficulty of current events, the doors of the local church have been closed for months and it doesn't look like there's any end in sight. Even when the opportunity for churches to gather in larger numbers becomes available, it's clear that most people aren't coming back anytime soon to centralized gatherings. This has left many people disconnected, doubtful, and disengaged.

THE ASSIGNMENT

Jesus came to serve, not to be served. With the emerging global tragedy brought on by the pandemic and the racial injustice throughout our country, and the economic crisis that is now upon us, these things have transformed every aspect of our society, economy, and even our faith communities.

HELP THE CHURCH BE THE CHURCH

The church will need to step up and find a way where we can do better together through the lives of the people that God entrusts to the body of Christ. Doing Better Together is a call to action for all churches and their congregations to be the hands and feet of Jesus during a time when it is needed the most. That time is now.

CHALLENGE EVERYONE TO ASK, "WHAT CAN YOU DO TO MAKE THINGS BETTER?"

Jesus gave the challenge to every Christ follower to go and do likewise. Take care of a neighbor, launch a new ministry, or giving generously to a cause. Pick a problem and be a part of the solution that will make the world a better place today. The bottom line is “it doesn’t matter what you do, it just matters that you do something in Jesus’ name.”

THE SOLUTION

The Doing Better Together Challenge will assemble the largest gathering of pastors to lend their voices and challenge the entire body of Christ to stand up, step up, and stand together in helping to make the world a better place. It may only be one thing that you do, but it needs to be something. Ask God for direction, reflect on your God-given gifts, put your faith in action, and call a friend to help make it happen.

THE CAMPAIGN INITIATIVES

We have 4 core initiatives that mobilize and engage the Christian community to commit to Doing Better Together no matter who they are or where they are. Each initiative is unique in helping to fulfill the overall vision and strategy given the time and scope of the campaign. We will seek to secure funding over the next 30 days as seed capital to launch these initiatives.

01 DOING BETTER TOGETHER

Challenge

The #DBTChallenge is geared toward charging everyone to ask the question, "What can I do to make things better?". We want to create conversation and motivation to challenge everyone, everywhere to do something for someone. Why? Because Jesus challenged us, people need it, and because we can!

Will you accept the challenge for such a time as this? The call is to rally your friends, family and co-workers to do something that can change a life. It's a challenge to everyone to serve someone. It's no longer if or when, it's now. So simply ask God who and how you can serve somebody today. Find a need and fill it as we commit to #doingbettertogether.

02 DOING BETTER TOGETHER

We are going to produce the Top 500 leading and emerging voices of the Church all across the country that will provide a content library of the master teaching and trainings. Every speaker will provide unique and timely content that will then be populated in a series of digital platforms uniquely targeting every major role in ministry in a local church setting. This includes senior pastors, church staff, elders, ministry leaders, key volunteers, small group leaders, church members, attenders, and even online viewers.

03 DOING BETTER TOGETHER

Campaign

We will develop a series of global church alignment campaigns (similar to 40 Days of Purpose) that will be the most comprehensive, integrated, and beautifully produced master teaching from leading voices. Each campaign will feature leader training, daily devotions, and inspirational stories with digital and print companions. The focus of the campaigns will be to help boost and restore the health and engagement of the local church.

04 DOING BETTER TOGETHER Â

The local church is still one of the most transformational institutions in any community. This is why we will recruit, partner, train and develop a network of 30 local churches to start. These churches will be a relational content distribution network to connect the church body to the digital resources. In turn, these churches will seek to replicate and exponentially leverage their church's resources and story to be able to help influence and inspire other churches. We'll provide them access to the online suite of digital resources and give them help in integrating and applying the content we've created.

OUR STRATEGY INCLUDES THE RECRUITING, TRAINING AND DEVELOPING OF A GROWING NETWORK OF CHURCHES WILLING TO SERVE AS A MODEL, MENTOR AND MULTIPLYING CHURCH ACROSS THE COUNTRY. THIS EXACT MODEL WAS USED YEARS AGO WHEN WE ROLLED OUT THE 40 DAYS OF PURPOSE CAMPAIGN AT SADDLEBACK CHURCH.

THE STRATEGY

Our execution strategy will include leveraging a donor raise to fund the four Campaign Initiatives that will, in turn, supply the assets and momentum for the distribution of the digital platforms and apps.

CAST • RECRUIT • CAPTURE • LAUNCH • CATALYZE CAST vision to a handpicked group of individual donors, sponsors, investors, etc.

RECRUIT unique and timely content from the Top 500 leading Christian influencers, leaders, and pastors.

CAPTURE a library of teaching and training designed to empower and equip the church to be the church for such a time as this.

LAUNCH a series of digital platforms that will help deliver and distribute content to the local church and into the hands of people that need it most.

CATALYZE a movement across the country that resources every member, leader and pastor to play their part through the Doing Better Together Challenge and Campaigns around the world.

The bottom line is, “it doesn’t matter what you do, it just matters that you do something in Jesus’ name.”

We are asking you to be a Champion for Doing Better Together. DBT Champions are those that play a strategic part in helping to fulfill the mission of the Doing Better Together campaign. We have designed the role of the DBT Champion to be a catalyst for investors, donors, and foundations who want to play their part in helping to transform culture and the challenges that face our society today.

Doing Better Together Champion Catalyze a movement that challenges everyone to ask the question, “What can I do to make things better?�

TIME: We are seeking to work with strategic partners who are willing to give their time to promote the campaign to their audiences and recruit additional Champion Donors.
