As part of this partnership, the Festival introduces ‘Spotlight on the Music of Hope Blue Piano’ on select Saturday nights, showcasing talented musicians who will enrich the lives of community members through this uplifting concert series.”
Another Festival highlight, Family Art Day, returns on Sunday, July 14, with a special animal theme. Visitors will tap into their creativity with creature-inspired art projects and enjoy visits from furry, feathered special guests while having a blast with their family.
“For the adults, ‘Art, Jazz, Wine and Chocolate’ (sponsored by Charles Schwab and Cambria Estate Winery) provides the perfect atmosphere to pair wine, chocolate, and smooth jazz amongst an unmatched gallery setting.”

This nonprofit organization encourages consumers to paint smarter by disposing of their leftover paint responsibly
This summer, explore new ways to bond with your family by sprucing up your space.
Thanks to PaintCare, you can refresh and renew a piece of furniture, a room, or even your whole house in an environmentally friendly fashion.
“Beat summer boredom, brighten your home, and reuse a valuable resource–all with the power of leftover house paint! Gather the kids, dust off your paintbrushes, and get ready for creative, eco-friendly fun. These DIY paint projects are perfect for family bonding, transforming your space with vibrant colors, and unleashing your inner artist while repurposing your leftover paint!”
Established in October of 2012, PaintCare now has year-round dropoff sites all around the country, including 770 sites across California.
“PaintCare makes it easy to recycle leftover paint . In states with paint stewardship laws, we operate recycling programs on behalf of paint manufacturers.”
To date, over 69.7 million gallons of used paint have been collected. PaintCare has also provided 10,213 large-volume pickups and hosted 357 paint drop-off events.
So how exactly does it work?
In states where PaintCare operates, we encourage households and businesses to take their unwanted, leftover paint to a [aintCare drop-off site. Most sites are paint retailers, which are
convenient locations open year-round and seven days a week. Across the PaintCare programs, there are more than 2,400 drop-off sites.”
“By participating in this program, you can ensure your paint is recycled properly and contribute to a cleaner environment and future.”
Looking for inspiration? Here are some DIY ideas from PaintCare:
Ditch those dull, drab planters and create masterpieces your greenery will adore with the whole family. Let your imaginations run wild with stripes, polka dots, or rainbows. Want more inspiration? Search online for kid-friendly planter designs–from cute animals to silly faces, the possibilities are endless for painters of all ages! Your plants will love their colorful new homes.
Have a chair that's seen better days, or a side table that's a bit too plain? It’s a rescue mission! Set up a workspace outside and let everyone participate. Younger kids can help with sanding, while older ones can tackle painting. Choose bright colors for a playful vibe or go for a coordinated theme– it's your family's unique creation!
A bold accent wall makes a big style statement, and it's the perfect summer project for a team effort. Let the kids pick a fun paint color and have them help with taping or even painting smaller sections. If you're feeling adventurous, try adding stripes, a funky geometric pattern, or even creating a mural!”
Do you still have some leftover paint? The fun doesn't stop there! Here are some additional DIY ideas:
• Bold Birdhouse: Transform a basic wooden birdhouse into a colorful masterpiece.
• Painted Rocks: Decorate smooth stones for the garden or write supportive messages and hide them as kindness rocks for others to find.
• Personalized Gifts: Spruce up plain picture frames, flowerpots, or trinket boxes to make one-of-a-kind presents.
“The best part of these projects? You're teaching valuable lessons about upcycling and taking care of our planet. More than 800 million gallons of architectural paint are sold in the US each year and as much as 10% of that goes unused. Leftover paint isn’t trash – it’s an opportunity to create something new and reduce waste.”
