Erika and her best friend Christy were raised in Orlando. They frequented the shops in downtown Winter Garden over the years and in 2018, an opportunity to open a boutique presented itself… and they went with it. With no background in retail, they put their faith in God and were able to officially open Doxology in March of 2019. Being strong Christians, they wanted that to be the center of the store, quite literally. The moment you walk through the front doors, you are greeted with a gor geous little chapel right in the heart of the boutique. The walls inside the Chapel are covered with notes of prayers.
“Doxology is a place for fashion, home goods and gifts, but first and foremost it a place for people to come and feel connected, loved on, and prayed for.” Every morn ing before they open, they all go in the Chapel and say a prayer. Stepping into Doxology truly makes your soul feel good. Antique furnishings cover the store, with gorgeous arrangements of flowers, candles, and gifts. What looks great on someone else may not look good on you. Don’t feel like you must follow every trend. APRICOT LANE – STEPHANIE ROBINSON Stephanie Robinson, owner of Apricot Lane Winter Garden, and her husband always dreamed of owning their own business. When they came across Apricot Lane, a franchise that is locally owned, this allowed Stephanie to curate their own style. This was important because she wanted to listen to what the locals wanted and needed. “I also have an 18-year-old daughter who just graduated high school, and we both love fashion, so the idea of running a mother-daughter boutique was the inspiration behind this all. We have young stuff, clothes for women my age, and even things for women my mother’sVacationingage!” here all her life, Stephanie has seen just how much Winter Garden has grown. She loved the “small town” feel and sense of community but knew the area was in need for more women focused shopping. The idea was to bring a shop that could grow in this com munity with people of all ages, from all types of backgrounds. Apricot Lane brought a “spe cial niche” of mother-daughtershopping that hadn’t been established yet. Stephanie’s pas sion for her work and this community exudes through her when she speaks. “I’ve always been into fashion, not high fashion, or Paris fashion, but everyday looks. I love helping women find items and outfits that they love! People will come in and tell me they have a wedding to go to, or an event, or a vacation, and we will help them find the perfect outfit and they will come back and show me pictures from their event! That is the biggest reward of this.” It’s clear after speaking with Stephanie that she loves this town and community. Her boutique is centered around mother, daughters, and women from all walks of life by empowering them to find and embrace their style. “You really need to know what you like. There are a lot of trends out there, and you just have to find what works for you. Every body type is different, so you need to go out there and find what makes you confi dent.” From the moment you walk through the doors, you are greeted with kindness and a helping hand. We will find the perfect outfit that will make you feel beautiful!”

Originally from Bloomington, Illinois, Natalie already owned her first Shoo Shoo Baby Boutique there. After visiting Winter Garden, she fell in love with the downtown area and the people in this community and saw a dire need for more retail stores. At the time, there was only one other boutique in the area and many restaurants and a growing community. So, she moved down and opened her doors in 2019. Her hope for opening Shoo Shoo Baby was to bring more traffic and women to the downtown area. “I was hopeful that women would see downtown Winter Garden as a shopping destination with options and variety. With a few other boutiques opening along Plant Street, there was a bigger draw for not only our local community, but the surrounding towns as well.”

Sharing and talking about the uniqueness of amazing craft beer and the almost countless varieties in styles has been a passion for the founders of Windermere Brewing Company.
One night, with a great group of friends and a few solid beers, including one the founders created in their backyard shed, they decided they needed to share their passion on a largerTheyscale.started with brewing many different styles and some odd experiments, and they even tried putting garlic in a beer. Then, sharing with friends and family and eventually partic ipating in local events and craft beer festivals, handing out free samples and gauging feedback. Finally, while listening to what was working and also what wasn’t up to their standards, they moved forward with plans to build a production brew ery and taproom right in the heart of Windermere!

We have taken initiatives to limit our foot print, including an innovative water reuse plan where we utilize our process water to be used again in landscape irrigation”, said Andrew McGhee, Founder. We believe there is no such thing as ‘going it alone, and we can only be the brewery we want to be by relying on our local community and the larger craft beer com munity. Over time, @OrlandoFoodSpots has continued to blossom, and with new growth has come new opportunities.
When it comes to styling food and bev erage for a photo or video shoot, Bryan focuses on the most visually interesting part of the subject. “As a creative, I like to focus on the colors that the subject gives off,” said Bryan. About forty percent of the work is done behind the camera, with sixty percent in Whenpost-production. askedabout his greatest accom plishment from @OrlandoFoodSpots, Bryan said there was not one single moment that he could recollect. However, when he is out in the field at a luxury restaurant or hotel for a collaboration, he will often have a “ratatouille flashback” to the college days of eating ramen. Bryan’s skill set in both photography and videography, as well as food styling, has opened doors to paid work for restaurants, bars, and brands. “When brands started reaching out to me, I started to think this might be bigger than what I expected,” said Bryan. “I want to spotlight the art and creativity behind food and not focus on indulgence. Culinary is an art, and I want to highlight the chefs behind it.”
Bryan Baquiran was a student at the University of Florida studying Telecommunications with a track in Productions when his love and skill for photography and food merged. Bryan was cooking on a bud get and found the beauty in carefully crafted dishes when he had the opportunity to eat out at restaurants. This led him to begin taking photos of his food not only to enjoy while he was out, but also to savor and remember the plating and style of the dish. His personal social media pages began to grow with followers interested in the food pho tography that he was sharing, and after growing to 1,000 followers, he decided to create a dedicated social media platform to showcase his love of food as an art form, @OrlandoFoodSpots was born.
