The Gift of Giving Back
ARTICLE AND PHOTOGRAPHY BY MARY-SLOAN SMART (@MRS.MARYSLOANSMART)
Tis the season of Holiday spirit! Lights are strung, decorations displayed, jolly music and magical meals shared with loved ones. It is also the season of giving. There are over 2,000 individuals in Orange County without a home, and over 200 of those are families. It is our job as a community to come together to help those in need. Second Harvest Food Bank and Central Florida Diaper Bank are just two of the numerous organizations in Orlando where you can donate and volunteer your time.

Second Harvest Food Bank is one of our local food banks that distribute 300,000 meals every day to our community. Dan Samuels, Director of Philanthropy, has been with Second Harvest for four years and has been working in the non-profit space for close to 20 years. Part of Dan’s job is to engage the community in being a part of Second Harvest’s mission by sharing local stories. “So many people in our community are living day to day, making it just fine until something happens and pushes them over that edge. So along with putting food on their table we are also trying to shorten the line of those that need food assistance by addressing where the root of that hunger comes from.” Hunger is just the symptom of a lot of other things going on in the life. Whether someone’s child got sick and now they have medical bills, or their car broke down, or rent went up, and now they are having to choose between these issues or putting food on the table. These people are your neighbors. That is why it is so crucial for each of us to get involved. Second Harvest has numerous ways for you to give back, starting with funds and donations. For every dollar donated, they can translate that into four meals going out into the community. You can donate online at any time and can drop food off any day of the year, Monday through Friday. You can also volunteer your time. They are always looking for volunteers to help pack meals and deliver food. Lastly, you can advocate for Second Harvest. Simply spreading the word, reading and sharing this article helps, and talking with people about the needs in our community helps bring awareness. “The only way we can ever tackle the problem of food insecurity is by coming together as a community. By more people getting involved. And the first way we can do that is by understanding what hunger looks like in our community.” Dan said. If you are looking to start getting involved with Second Harvest, please visit their website Feedhopenow.org and start today. And remember, hunger doesn’t just exist during the Holidays; they need volunteers year-round. The Central Florida Diaper Bank (CFDB) was founded 27 years ago by Sharon Lyles. “I started the Central Florida Diaper Bank because there was one day in my life where I had one diaper and the adhesive strip on the diaper would not stick. It was a terrible feeling and I did not want another parent to experience the pain and agony that I felt. My goal is to ensure that every baby in the Central Florida Community has clean diapers.” Shannon said. CFDB’s mission is to provide diapers and other basic essentials to families with children ages 0-3 to ensure that every child and family has their basic needs met. They provide diapers for newborns 5,6,7,

pullups in various sizes, diaper rash cream, body wash, and lotion for babies. The CFDB also provides formula, period supplies for women and have just started providing post-partum kits for mothers. They are always in need of supply donations, but you can also help by donating your time. “We need volunteers to help pack diapers and hygiene kits. We need a fundraiser, a Public Relations firm to help tell our story. Become an ambassador and help raise awareness about our mission. And as always, Donors.” Shannon explained. If you are looking to get involved this Holiday season or year-round, then please visit their website, centralfloridadiaperbank.org. The Central Florida Diaper Bank will be hosting Diaper Distributions to families in Orange County on December 1, 8, 13, 15, 21, and 22. You can contact their office for location details at 407-656-7055. “Our mission is to help struggling families with infants and toddlers meet their children's basic needs. As you prepare for the holiday season please consider a donation of your talent, time, and treasures to help us to achieve this goal for our families during this holiday season. Help us Change Lives from the Bottom Up!” Matthew’s Hope (MH) is another local food bank located here in Winter Garden. Andrea Pumar is the Director for Orange County Matthew’s Hope Ministries and has been with MH for three years. Her role is to oversee staff, volunteers, and guests to ensure the purpose of their mission is what Pastor Scott envisions. At Matthew’s Hope, they take their mission beyond just feeding the community. “Our mission is to help our guests help themselves. It could be providing food out of the pantry to giving them the opportunity to work in the wood shop.” Andrea said. They also offer numerous programs such as transitional housing, a medical home, and the Firm Foundation, which is a preschool and daycare where children have activities and play but also learn self-care. MH also has the Moving Forward Program, which is a way for their guests to improve their life, gain skills, and earn points to obtain items of need. Guests can even work part-time or full-time at Matthew’s Hope Ministries. This program offers people the chance to rebuild their life, building their self-worth and gives them purpose. There are so many great ways to get involved at MH, by volunteering and donating, you can help ensure their ministry can provide for those in need. Donations such as non-perishable food items, clothing items, hygiene items, tents, and sleeping bags are always needed. Monetary donations are always welcome and greatly appreciated as well. You can also volunteer your time by making sandwiches, packing snack bags, or

helping transport guests to their Outreach Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If you would like to become a volunteer at Matthew’s Hope, send an email to volunteer@matthewshopeministries.org and let them know what you are looking to get involved in. While MH doesn’t have any designated days for a food drive, anyone can coordinate their own and drop off their donations by setting up a time and date. So, the next time you host a party (maybe even this holiday season), have each of your guests bring a few canned goods items, and we can all help feed our community! Andrea wanted to remind the community of one more thing, “Remember that this is the season of giving, and recognize that Jesus sacrificed himself so that we can love and serve others on his behalf.” While you enjoy the time spent with family, remember the people who are in need are our neighbors. It takes all of us coming together to make sure our neighbors have the basic essentials in life. This doesn’t just take place during the Holidays; our community needs help all year long. This year, give the gift that never stops and donate what you can, whether that is food, money, or your time. We all can make a difference.
Matthews Hope

GIVER

M ON E Y M AT T E R S | L IFE + CULTURE
I think the phrase, "It is better to give than to receive," many times has been used to make people feel better about spending hard-earned money to help or bless someone else. It's a phrase we like to throw around during Christmas to soothe the pain of losing money or justify our sometimes too-extravagant gifts. But in doing so, we miss one of generosity's most potent and vital side effects: true joy. It is the joy of being personally involved in the good outcome of the gift. It is seeing the smile or the relief of a recipient knowing their needs are being met or their desires are being fulfilled. Most people in need are praying to God to help them fulfill that need, and when we step into the waterfall of grace and love God has for people, we become God's answers to those prayers. We then, in exchange, get submerged by the love, joy, and the fulfillment that what we have done to earn the money has greater meaning and purpose. Money has become the facade of value we use to measure our worth. Each day, we exchange ourselves, our knowledge, our expertise, and our energy for money and then the money for our needs and desires. It becomes the selfish cycle that turns our world. In my years, I have discovered that giving is very personal for me. I realized that when I give, I am really giving of myself. Each gift comes with a little bit of me, my time, my efforts, or my expertise. Now, I am not saying that pursuing success or nice things is inherently wrong, but I am saying that this pursuit is driven by one thing: self. We miss out on the joy and impact that comes from selflessly giving selflessly to someone who hasn't earned it. But is it truly a selfless act? Unfortunately, no. Giving is one of the most selfish things you can do… Denzel Washington puts it this way: "The most selfish thing you can do in this world is helping someone else, because the gratification, the goodness that comes to you, the good feeling, the good feeling from helping others— nothing is better than that. Not jewelry, not the big house, not the cars; it's the joy. That's where the joy is—in helping others. That's where the success is." Denzel reminds us of the truth that when we pass, none of our possessions, achievements, or account values come with us. Instead, what proceeds us is the impact we had on people through the donation of our resources, our time, and our talents.

“THE MOST SELFISH THING YOU CAN DO IN THIS WORLD IS HELPING SOMEONE ELSE FOR THE GRATIFICARTION. THE GOODNESS THAT COMES TO YOU, THE GOOD FEELING, THE GOOD FEELING FROM HELPING OTHERS—NOTHING IS BETTER THAN THAT. NOT JEWELRY, NOT THE BIG HOUSE, NOT THE CARS; IT’S THE JOY. THAT’S WHERE THE JOY IS—IN HELPING OTHERS. THAT’S WHERE THE SUCCESS IS.”
As a financial advisor, I am engulfed by the impact of this green paper that spins our world, and I've seen the lengths to which we go to earn it. I have seen the hollowness and emptiness that follows the life of self-gratification. I have seen people who seemingly have everything feel as if they have nothing. And I have listened to the regret of those on their deathbeds who died with millions in the bank. They say that life is lived forward but understood backward. What I have learned from those backward understandings is this: life is less about affluence than it is about influence. The influence of generosity, whether we give of our time, treasure, or talents, extends beyond our own individual success. And the beauty in giving is that it is free. We are not forced to give through compulsion, pressure, or even guilt, but the best kind of giving is self-determined, free, and under no guilt or pressure. We are free to give of ourselves to whomever

we choose to give to. 2 Corinthians 9:7 says it this way, "Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." During my own giving journey, I have experienced the addictive joy of generosity but have also fallen captive to the traps that lost me this joy in the process. Nevertheless, I have learned valuable lessons that have shown me how to maximize the joy and impact of generosity, and I would like to share them with you: 1. Give Freely. Do not allow guilt or the pressure of the world or others to influence your giving. Rather decide in your own heart how you would like to give and to whom. You do not have to be rich to be generous. 2. Get connected to your recipient. Whether you give of your time, talents, or treasure, get to know your recipient so you can see firsthand the impact of your generosity.
3. Create a unified giving plan with your spouse. Nothing is more powerful than coming together as a unified team to give to causes you both are passionate about. As we enter another Christmas season, I encourage you to be a "selfish giver" this year. Holiday Dinner E A SY A ND EL EG A N T
WHETHER YOU’RE HOSTING CHRISTMAS EVE, CHRISTMAS DAY, OR A NEW YEAR’S EVE SOIREE, THIS FABULOUS DINNER WILL BE A HIT! By the time December rolls around, we’ve all had our fair share of turkey, ham, and the traditional sides. While we hold these foods near and dear to our hearts, the repetitive nature of our holiday feasts needs to be remedied. So switch it up this year with this show-stopping meal that exemplifies elegance and ease.
G A R L IC M A S HE D P O TAT O E S INGREDIENTS • 5 lbs Yukon Gold Potatoes, peeled • 1 stick of Salted Butter, cubed • 4 cloves of Garlic, minced • 1 cup Heavy Cream • Salt and Pepper
METHOD 1. Peel all potatoes, and cut them into 1-inch pieces. Mince garlic. 2. Fill a large pot with water, and add potatoes and Garlic to it. Place on high heat and bring to a boil. Cook for about 15-20 minutes, until the potatoes are fork tender and creamy. 3. Strain the water and return the potatoes back to the same pot. Add the butter and cream, and using a potato masher, ricer, or large whisk, combine and mash the potatoes until silky smooth (do not use an electric mixer as this will give them a gluey consistency.) 4. Season to taste and enjoy!

BRAISED SHORT RIBS INGREDIENTS • 5 Bone-In Beef Short Ribs (1-2 per person) • 1 Carrot, diced • 1 Stalk of Celery, diced • 1 Small Yellow Onion, diced • 3 cloves of Garlic, minced • 2 cans of Beef Consommé • ½ cup, Red Wine • 1 large can of Crushed Tomatoes • 2 Bay Leaves • Salt and Pepper • ½ cup Flour • 2 tbs Cornstarch • 3 tbs Neutral Oil
ARTICLE AND PHOTOGRAPHY BY MADISON LAMBERT (@GIRLINTHEGREENAPRON)
METHOD 1. Prepare your vegetables, and measure out all other ingredients. 2. Heat a large Dutch oven or braising pot to medium heat. While the pan is coming to temperature, season the short ribs liberally with salt and pepper and lightly coat in flour. 3. Add oil to the skillet, and sear the short ribs for about 2 minutes per side or until each side has a dark brown crust. 4. Remove the short ribs to a separate plate, add more oil if necessary, and add the carrot, celery, and onion with a pinch of salt. Cook for 3-5 minutes until fragrant and slightly softened. Add Garlic the last 30 seconds. 5. Pour in wine to deglaze, and scrape any brown bits of fond stuck to the bottom of the pot using a wooden spoon. Allow the alcohol smell of the wine to cook off for 2-3 minutes. 6. Reduce heat to low and add the beef consommé, crushed tomatoes, bay leaves, and any other herbs or flavors you enjoy. (Be careful with salt, the beef stock already has plenty). 7. Secure the lid and place it in a 350°F oven for about 3 hours. Check on them at the 2.5-hour mark. The meat should be easy to remove from the bone while still staying intact. 8. Once tender, remove the ribs from the braising liquid, and scoop out about a ½ cup of juice from the pot, adding the cornstarch to it to make a slurry. Add this back to the pot and stir over medium heat to slightly thicken. 5-10 minutes. Taste gravy for seasoning, and enjoy! D ECEMB ER 2 0 2 2 | C I TYL I FE STYL E . C OM/WI N T E R GA R D E N

The City Lifestyle
Giving Campaign Now in its third year, the City Lifestyle Giving Campaign will give away $300,000 this holiday season to help individual community members who would benefit from a helping hand during their time of need. But they need YOUR HELP to make it happen! Maybe you know of a single parent struggling to provide, an elderly person who has experienced loss, a child enduring a health issue, a co-worker suffering a sudden, unexpected tragedy or a neighbor with a financial hardship who has fallen between the cracks of getting assistance. Chances are you know someone with a specific need—even if nobody else does. To preserve and protect the dignity of every recipient, the City Lifestyle Giving Campaign is completely confidential. No identities will be revealed or publicized in ANY way. (Even those who nominate others may remain anonymous if they choose.) Last year, City Lifestyle was able to give to more than 70 recipients all over the country by sending checks in the mail through New Year’s Eve. (This year, the goal is to double that number with checks ranging in amount up to $3,000 each.) With nominations flooding in from community members and leaders such as judges, police officers, teachers, nurses, social workers, mentors and readers like you, we were able to reach people who might otherwise go unnoticed. “We believe in giving back and serving the communities where we live in a real and tangible way,” says Steven Schowengerdt, CEO and founder of City Lifestyle. “This Giving Campaign is all about personally impacting the lives of people we know with an unexpected check in the mail just to say that someone thought of them this holiday season.” Together with Matthew Perry, Chief Sales Officer, Steven adds that the outpouring and gratitude from the recipients was overwhelming and affirmed that this is a tradition they want to continue. “We believe God has blessed our company with continued success,” Matthew adds, “so we in turn want to be a blessing to others.” City Lifestyle has also enacted an internal giving program whereby every employee in the company receives $100 to give away to someone in the community. “The idea is to encourage our employees to keep doing it on their own,” Steven says. “Taking care of one another and blessing others is so rewarding that it perpetuates a cycle of giving. It’s extremely important to me as a person and as a company to foster that culture of generosity.”

THE YEAR-END HOLIDAY SEASON IS A GREAT REASON TO CELEBRATE OUR DIVERSITY WITH FAMILY, FRIENDS AND OUR COMMUNITIES.
HANUKKAH
CELEBR ATING HOLIDAY DIVERSIT Y
Hanukkah is a Jewish holiday that commemorates the overthrow of Hellenistic King Antiochus IV Epiphanes who outlawed Jewish practice and defiled the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem. A small Maccabean army of Jews rebelled against this religious persecution. They defeated the Antiochus' troops after a three-year war. They regained control of the Temple, removed the symbols of Zeus and built a new altar so they could once again keep with Jewish law. The Hanukkah menorah candles represent the miraculous burning of that temple’s lantern for eight nights, even though there was only enough oil to burn one night. On each of the successive eight nights, another candle is added to the menorah after sundown. Hanukkah begins on the 25th day of Kislev, a month in the Hebrew calendar. This eight-day Hanukkah festival begins across the globe when Jews gather to light menorahs in their homes, at synagogues and at giant community events. Many cities host Hanukkah lighting ceremonies along with Christmas in town squares. The public ceremonies are accompanied by songs, entertainment, food and carnivals. The National Menorah in Washington, DC is ceremoniously lit up where the President hosts an annual Hanukkah party at the White House. While, gift giving was not historically part of Hanukkah, many young families give their children a different gift for each of the 8 nights. The most popular Hanukkah foods include potato latkes, brisket, chicken, kugel, matzo ball soup, rugelach, sufganiyot jelly-filled doughnuts, challah and wine.

DIWA LI Diwali is a Festival of Lights celebrated by Hindus, Jains, Sikhs and some Buddhists. Diwali honors Rama-Chandra, the seventh avatar, an incarnation of the Vishnu God. It is believed that Rama returned to his people on this day after 14 years of exile after he won a battle against King Ravana and his evil demons. Followers light up their houses to celebrate his victory over evil. There are celebratory worship services Lakshmi, the Goddess of Happiness and Good Fortune is an essential part of worship during this celebration as she symbolizes wealth, happiness and prosperity. Each of the five Diwali days has a different focus. Diwali lasts from the 13th day of the dark half of the lunar month Ashvina to the second day of the light half of the lunar month Karttika. The first day is celebrated as a shopping day. Many look to buy jewelry, while some buy traditional sari outfits, Hindu statues and incense sticks. The second day is used to decorate the homes. The third day is celebrated with candles indoors as well as outdoor lights with nighttime fireworks. Diwali is celebrated with a gift exchange. Everyone wears very colorful clothing. Many cities, schools, community associations and corporate businesses celebrate Diwali as it is a public holiday in parts of India. The business community considers it an opportune time to start new ventures. American Diwali communities organize festivals and firework displays. Some states such as Utah have proclaimed Diwali as one of their annual state festivals. Diwali feasts are celebrated with cauliflower pakora or cauliflower fritters, pumpkin halwa, besan ladoo, an assortment of sweet treats, paneer makhani and other savory treats with chai teas.
CHRISTMAS Christmas is a sacred religious holiday celebrating the birth of Jesus. The English term ‘Christmas’ means “Mass on Christ's Day”. The earlier term Yule was derived from the Germanic jōl or the Anglo-Saxon geōl, which referred to the feast of the winter solstice. The Romans are credited for inventing this holiday. The first recorded Christmas was celebrated by Roman Emperor Constantine on December 25, 336 AD. The real birth date of Jesus is not stated in any historical reference. Christmas Day was chosen to coincide with the winter solstice. The tradition of decorating an evergreen Christmas tree goes back to 16th-century Germany. These trees represented the forbidden fruit from Genesis in the Bible. Ornaments were made of glass. Today, Christmas ornaments can be shared to celebrate, honor and memorialize anything you want! Families travel to be together for this holiday to celebrate Christmas traditions with a dinner feast. They enjoy sitting around the Christmas tree, singing songs and telling stories. Many make Christmas cookies and sweet treats to eat with hot chocolate. Christmas tree lighting ceremonies and parades are held in many cities. Many families host parties, take a hike, go ice skating and build snowmen on Christmas. Some dress up like Santa and the elves, while dressing up pets in holiday costumes. Italian, Greek, Hispanic and others have their favorite foods, while the most American Christmas holiday foods include turkeys, hams, carrots, roast or mashed potatoes, stuffing, parsnips, brussels sprouts and Christmas pudding. Gift giving at Christmas has become a Christian tradition and symbolic of the tributes made to the baby Jesus by the Three Wise Men after his birth during the story of the Nativity. CONTINUED >

K WA NZ A A Kwanzaa is an African-American celebration of heritage, life, principles and traditions that are observed for one week from December 26 to January 1. Dr. Karenga introduced this American festival in 1966 as a ritual festival to welcome the first harvests. He openly created Kwanzaa in response to the overt commercialism of Christmas. Its name comes from the Swahili phrase “Matunda ya kwanza,” which means “first fruits”. Each day a candle is lit to honor the principle of that day, while reciting the writings of great Black thinkers and writers, reading original poetry, listening to African drums and sharing a meal of African-inspired foods. Families come together to share a Kwanzaa feast to honor their ancestors, affirm the bonds between them and to celebrate their African-American culture. Some of the traditional foods include catfish, collards, macaroni and cheese, jerk chicken, gumbo, accras or Caribbean fritters and feijoada. The Kwanzaa feast table is decorated on New Year’s Eve with the seven symbols of Kwanzaa representing Mishumaa Sabaa, the Kinara candle holder, Kikombe cha Umoja Unity Cup, Mkeka placemat, Mazao, Muhindi and Zawadi or gifts. The decorations and clothing are represented with the colors of red for the struggle, green for the future and black for the people.
Y E A R E N D H O L I D AY S Year-End Holidays: There are dozens of other year-end religious and cultural holiday celebrations. Some of these include Three Kings Day, Boxing Day, Winter Solstice, Saint Nicholas Day, Saint Lucia Day, Mardi Gras and the Seinfeld invented – Festivus for the rest of us. Happy Holidays!

The year-end season is a great reason to celebrate and make holiday traditions with your family. If you celebrate Christmas, you may want to consider cutting and buying your own tree from a local tree farm this year. The total experience can become a special bonding event during the holiday season for young families with children. There are plenty of Christmas tree farms here in Central Florida. Make it a fun and memorable experience by planning the day. Bring your cameras!
In the Northern Hemisphere, the shortest day and longest night of the year falls on December 21 or December 22 and it’s called the winter solstice. Historically, people believed that winter came every year because the Sun God had become sick and weak. They celebrated the solstice because it meant that the Sun God would begin to get well. Evergreen wreaths reminded them that the green plants would grow again when the Sun God was strong and summer would return.
CHRISTMAS HISTORY & TRADITIONS:
SANTA’S CHRISTMAS TREE FOREST:
Long before the advent of Christianity, plants and trees that remained green all year, especially in the Winter months, had a special meaning. The history of Christmas trees goes back to the symbolic use of evergreens for the Christmas holiday as used in ancient Egypt and Rome. The tradition of cutting your own Christmas tree started in Germany where they lit them with candles. Ancient people hung evergreen boughs and wreaths over their doors and windows. Some believed that evergreens would keep away witches, ghosts, evil spirits, and illness. The Christmas tree tradition was brought to America in the 1800s. Christmas trees are now grown in all 50 states.
With 17 acres of Christmas trees to select from and located in nearby Eustis, Florida, they offer you the opportunity to casually cut your own trees. Together with their own homegrown tree assortment, they offer Sand Pines, Red Cedars, American Blue Cypress, Black Hills Spruce, Fir, Pine, Douglas, Scotch, Balsam, and Arizona Cypress trees. They have a pre-cut area with over 600 beautiful trees and wreaths on display. The most difficult part is to select the one that will be perfect for you. Make Christmas Memories! To make your Christmas more memorable, they offer a complete experience with horse rides, hay rides, a petting zoo, refreshments, and

entertainment throughout the year-end holiday season. They will be very happy to share a saw to help you cut, trim, net, and load your tree onto your car. They have a special processing area, where your tree will be shaken out to rid it of dead needles and critters. They typically sell about 5,000 trees each year. Now open seven days and nights a week through December 20, this Eustis Christmas tree farm has become one of the most popular in Florida. Owned by Jodi and Tom Utsman, this family farm has been in business since 1989. They are both retired Florida teachers. Jodi’s parents started the tree farm on their 35-acre property.
SANTA’S ENTERTAINMENT: Some rides and entertainment are free and some have a cost at Santa’s Christmas Tree Forest. Their free petting farm area includes horses, donkeys, a cow, pig, chickens, ducks, rabbits, a turkey, and goats. A fun family hayride will take you out onto the farm grounds as you look through rows of trees. They even have a barrel train as well as adult and children’s trikes to ride on the property. Your kids will enjoy the zip line, the huge outdoor bounce pillow, a big pine wood maze, the double covert slide, a sand hill, and tire mountain. The Shark Tooth Sand Dig offers your children the chance to dig for shark teeth. They do offer extra activities like holiday arts and crafts and a scavenger hunt as well as live music, acts and entertainment for kids and the family. You may be surprised to experience snowfall, from their snow machine. There are special photo spots to pose for pictures. Santa, his elves and helpers will be ready to pose with your family and to help you. They offer extra select night time lights, entertainment, a happy hour at the bar, and activities.
CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY REFRESHMENTS & EXTRAS: For thirsty elves, there is a bar with beer, wine, hot chocolate, sweet and salty Kettle Korn popcorn, as

well as specialty drinks for adults and children to enjoy. There are also three kinds of homemade street tacos, hamburgers, hot dogs, ice cream, lemonade and their unique Merry Berry Float made with Sparkling Red Rose, Raspberry sherbet, preserves and berries. They have a Gift Shop to help you take home some great holiday tree and home decorations.
REASONS TO CUT YOUR OWN CHRISTMAS TREE: • Family Bonding Experience: Going to a Christmas tree farm will get your entire family outdoors to safely have fun. • Affordable Options: It’s usually cheaper to cut your own tree! • Celebrate Christmas Season Spirit! Select a tree farm that offers extra decorations, activities, treats and entertainment. • Longer Lasting Trees: Since your fresh tree was alive and growing until you cut it, your tree will usually last longer. Merry Always! Santa’s Christmas Tree Forest offers year-round events. Besides their Christmas season celebration, they have an Easter Egg Hunt in the spring and a Ladybug Festival in the summer. Every fall, Santa’s Christmas Tree Forest has a huge Pumpkin Patch Festival with thousands of pumpkins.
TIPS TO HELP PRESERVE YOUR TREE: Place the trunk end into fresh water within your tree stand. Keep the water level above the cut. Locate your tree well away from sources of heat, such as fireplaces, heater vents, space heaters and stoves. Keep it well hydrated by regularly watering it. Santa’s Christmas Tree Forest is located at 35317 Huff Road in Eustis, FL 32736.
