LIFESTYLE LETTER
New Beginnings As we say goodbye to the past year, January offers us an opportunity to reflect on our accomplishments, learn from our mistakes, and set new goals for the months ahead. It is a time to embrace change, make positive adjustments, and strive for personal growth. January brings with it a sense of rejuvenation and optimism. It serves as a blank canvas on which we can paint our aspirations and dreams. It encourages us to let go of any negativity or regrets that might have held us back in the past, allowing us to embrace the endless possibilities that lie ahead. A fresh start in January means taking steps towards self-improvement while making choices that align with our values and desires. It is a chance to set achievable resolutions, both big and small, and work towards them with dedication and perseverance. Whether it's adopting healthier lifestyle habits, pursuing a new career path, or strengthening relationships, January offers us the motivation and momentum to take action. It is a month of opportunity and growth, where we can lay the foundation for a fulfilling and successful year. I am reminded of the quote by Steve Harvey: “You are never too old to reinvent yourself.” So remember, every small step we take brings us closer to our goals and creates a ripple effect of positive change. Wishing you a wonderful January filled with new beginnings, personal growth, and endless possibilities.

FIND ACTIVITIES YOU ENJOY:
Fitness doesn't have to be a chore. Discover activities that you genuinely enjoy, as this will make it easier to stay motivated.
GET AN ACCOUNTABILITY BUDDY:
Having someone to keep you accountable can significantly increase your chances of sticking to your fitness routine. Find a workout buddy or join a fitness community where you can share your progress, challenges, and victories. Exercising with others not only adds a social element but also provides support and encouragement when the going gets tough.
MIX UP YOUR ROUTINE:
To keep things interesting and avoid boredom, don't be afraid to mix up your fitness routine. Incorporate a variety of exercises, such as cardio, strength training, and flexibility workouts.
PRIORITIZE RECOVERY:
Remember that rest and recovery are just as important as physical activity. Include rest days in your schedule to allow your body to recharge and repair.
TRACK YOUR PROGRESS:
Monitoring your progress is essential for staying motivated and seeing how far you've come. Keep a fitness journal or use tracking apps to record your workouts, measure your performance, and note any improvements.

Caruso Cabinets has built a stellar reputation for exceptionally crafted products. With a dedication to quality and personalized service, this family-owned business has been transforming kitchens and bathrooms, for over two decades. Tom Caruso is the owner of Caruso Cabinets. Tom’s career in this industry began in 1986. “In 2001, my brother Jerry and I decided to leave the company we were working for because they weren’t servicing the homeowner the way we thought they should." We asked Tom what sets them apart from their competitors. “We have been designing for 36 years and we know what we’re doing. We take you from start to finish with the builder or remodeler. We sell American-made cabinets from a company we know and trust, and have products to fit all budgets.” Tom, an outgoing and friendly guy, was again quick to respond when asked his favorite part of working in this industry. “The people. I’ve designed thousands of kitchens over the years, and I have gotten to work with so many great clients.” “We strive to deliver what we promise.” Caruso Cabinets offers fully customizable designs. Whether you're dreaming of a modern and sleek kitchen or a cozy and traditional space. When asked what the future holds for his business, Tom said, “With my daughters being the next generation of the company, Caruso Cabinets will be part of the community for many years to come.” He then laughed and added, “But that doesn’t mean Jerry or I are going anywhere anytime soon.”

E M BR AC E the L OV E If you're looking to make a positive impact and be a part of something truly special, here are some friendly and practical ways to help Love-A-Stray Dog Rescue. Love-A-Stray Dog Division is a foster-based rescue and does not have a shelter. All dogs are completely vetted and evaluated by a trainer prior to adoption.
WHAT IS YOUR MOST IMPORTANT NEED/WISHLIST? Our greatest need is foster homes. Without a foster network, we cannot continue rescuing dogs. We need a safe, loving environment as we search for a new forever home. Love-A-Stray provides all supplies needed for the foster dog program.
WHAT EVENT/FUNDRAISER ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO? One of our largest fundraisers is the Annual Strikes for Strays on February 25th, 2024 at Spevock's Nautical Lanes in Avon Lake. It has grown into a great event with amazing raffles, bowling, food and FUN. You do not need to be a bowler to participate in the raffles and enjoy this family-friendly fundraiser.
HOW DO YOU APPLY TO ADOPT/FOSTER? We are always searching for foster homes, volunteers and adopters. Donations are also greatly appreciated. Volunteer, foster and adoption applications can be found on our website http://www.loveastraydog.com/

Starting the New Year with a healthy meal delivery service is a great way to kick-start your wellness journey. By opting for a meal delivery service, you can conveniently nourish your body with nutritious meals without the hassle of planning, shopping, and cooking. One of the key benefits of a meal delivery service is that it saves you time and effort. Zero Doubt Kitchen is a great option to help you achieve your healthy goals. At Zero Doubt Kitchen, their story is a testament to the power of passion, health, and the love of good food. It all started with a foodie's dream to open a healthy cafe' in the charming town of Chagrin Falls, Ohio. Inga, the driving force behind the venture, always knew she wanted to open a cafe' that not only tantalized taste buds but also prioritized health. A self-proclaimed TV chef channel enthusiast, she never misses a chance to whip up a culinary delight, and her appetite for flavorsome dishes was nothing short of inspiring. The catalyst for Zero Doubt's journey was nothing short of remarkable—a profound transformation in Inga's husband's life, where he shed an astonishing 70 pounds of unwanted fat and packed on 20 pounds of lean muscle. This transformation was fueled, in no small part, by Inga's incredible meal-prepping skills. What began as a loving gesture soon turned into something much bigger. Inga started preparing nutritious meals not just for her husband but also for his dedicated life coach and personal trainer, Jeremy Torchinsky of Zero Doubt Club, a firm believer in the power of a plant-based diet. Word of mouth quickly spread, and before they knew it, a host of Jeremy's clients were clamoring for Inga's culinary creations. Then, a game-changing moment occurred when a forward-thinking corporate client recognized the value of providing wholesome, delicious meals to their cherished employees. Zero Doubt Kitchen was born, and they soon found a home in a bustling commercial kitchen in Cleveland, Ohio. Now, less than two years down the line, Zero Doubt Kitchen has grown by leaps and bounds. With over 100 loyal weekly meal plan clients, they have become a trusted name in the world of healthy, gourmet
dining. Their reputation extends beyond individual clients to include prestigious organizations like the Cleveland Charge, where they proudly fuel the energy and performance of both players and coaches with delectable offerings. Here are the diet choices that promise something for everyone. CLEAN AND HEALTHY, that is the least restrictive diet. With clean and healthy you still get dairy, starches and legumes DAIRY FREE, this contains no milk product (most of the meals are Dairy Free). GLUTEN FREE, meals contain no ingredients with gluten, and gluten agents i.e. "pastas, wheat, bread" (most of the meals are Gluten Free) LOW CARB, these are meals that have no starches. i.e. "rice, pasta, bread, potatoes." There is also a great VEGAN assortment weekly. Chef-inspired gourmet healthy meals start at $12 if purchased on a subscription plan or cost $13+ when ordered A La Carte or through our Meal Packs. You can be sure they have the best deal for the quality they offer. A meal delivery service can provide you with peace of mind. Knowing that you have a week's worth of healthy meals planned and ready to go can alleviate stress and help you stay on track with your wellness goals. It also eliminates the temptation to order takeout or resort to unhealthy convenience foods when you're tired or pressed for time. Located within the heart of the Central Kitchen Food Hub, they are surrounded by a thriving community of fellow food enthusiasts, each with their unique culinary stories to tell. “We believe in the power of fresh, flavorful, and health-conscious meals. That's why we extend our reach across Northeast Ohio, delivering the same delectable experiences that ignited our journey.” Zero Doubt Kitchen doesn’t just cook food; They create an experience that revolves around wellness, flavor, and the joy of eating. “Join us on this delicious adventure, where there's absolutely no doubt that every meal is a delightful journey of its own.” Your taste buds will thank you, and your body will, too. zerodoubtkitchen.com. 7501 Carnegie Ave. Cleveland, OH 44103 (216) 220-5878 CONTINUED >

TIP #1 YOU CAN STILL HAVE A VARIETY OF HEALTHY AND DELICIOUS FOODS BY PLANNING AND PREPPING YOUR MEALS FOR THE WEEK. • Preparing whole meals or dishes ahead of time saves a lot of time for busy people. • Ingredients required for specific meals can be prepped ahead of time to reduce total cooking time in the kitchen. • Having pre-prepared meals on hand can also reduce portion size and help you reach your nutrition and wellness goals. • Choose microwave and freezer safe containers for proper storage, including BPA-free plastic, flexible silicone or glassware containers. • Example: Choose familiar recipes for tacos, chili or spaghetti in the same week to use all your ground beef or turkey. I brown the ground beef and portion it in freezer bags flattened out for space saving freezing and time-saving cooking. • Pre-cut vegetables can be used for fresh ready-to-eat meals that do not require cooking, like salads and sandwiches or as part of a cooked recipe. Include leftovers in meal planning. • I also cut up ripe fresh fruits and freeze them to use in smoothies instead of throwing them out. • Frozen fruits and vegetables often cost less and last longer than fresh ones. They retain high-quality nutrients because they are frozen immediately after being harvested. • Most frozen vegetables have no additives and preservatives, but some may contain added seasonings, salt, sugar or sauces. Avoid added ingredients by paying attention to the label and ingredient list.
• A list helps limit distractions, keep you on budget, restricts unhealthy impulse purchases and reduces multiple trips for forgotten items. • Buy kitchen staples to have on hand to make quick simple meals like canned tomatoes, tuna fish or salmon, corn, your favorite beans and grains such as rice, quinoa, barley, farro and whole grain pasta. • Plan your menus based on grocery store sales and produce that are in season and add beans for plantbased protein. • Buy extra staples when they are on sale, and don’t overlook the bulk bins to buy just the amount you need. • Buy pre-prepped items in the grocery store to further save time or use the salad bar for small servings.
TIP #4 T RY N OT TO G R O C E RY S H O P W H E N YO U A R E H U N G RY. • Everything looks delicious when you are hungry, and this could lead to unnecessary and unhealthy food purchases. • The additional calories may not be needed, and food could be wasted if not eaten.
