Style isn’t just about clothes—it’s about how you show up. It’s the way you carry yourself, the way you speak, how you handle challenges, and the kind of presence you bring into a room. It’s personal, and it says a lot without needing to say much at all.
For some, style is in the details: a well-made watch, a new haircut, boots that have seen a few miles. For others, it’s in their work—how they lead, how they think, or how they solve problems when it counts.
What makes style powerful is that it’s honest. It’s not about keeping up with trends or putting on a show. It’s about knowing who you are and letting that speak for itself.
Style shows up in how you treat people, how you show discipline, and how you build something that lasts. It’s quiet confidence, not empty flash.
At the end of the day, real style doesn’t fade or follow—it leads. And when it’s rooted in character, not just appearance, it leaves a mark that lasts longer than anything you wear.

Situated in the beating heart of West Fort Worth, CHIEFFALO americana is more than just a shop— it’s a reflection of the roots Rodger and Jackie Chieffalo have planted in their community. Since opening their doors in 2020, they have immersed themselves in the city’s culture, sharing the Western flair that makes Fort Worth so iconic.
CHIEFFALO americana offers a stylish blend of Urban Western wear, giving locals and visitors everything they need to dive into the unique cowboy culture.
The inspiration behind the store started with a story—and a hat. Rodger Chieffalo’s fascination with restoring vintage beaver felt cowboy hats was sparked by a legendary Fort Worth figure: Amon Carter. After being mistaken for a vaudeville cowboy during a 1920s trip to New York City, Carter returned to Fort Worth and commissioned a custom short brim beaver felt cowboy hat, igniting a tradition that became woven into Texas history and culture. Years later, when Rodger
inherited one of Carter’s original hats, a quiet passion turned into a mission. To date, Rodger has renovated nearly 4,500 hats, each carrying a piece of Fort Worth’s legacy.
Rodger expanded his work to other classic accessories. He began renovating cuff links from items like bullet shells and making custom molds for belt buckles – an accessory proudly worn by individuals inducted into the TCU athletic hall of fame.
Driven by a passion for fusing urban edge with Western soul, Jackie helped expand CHIEFFALO americana beyond hats into a full lifestyle brand. Today, the store offers a variety of reimagined vintage pieces —all curated with a keen eye for design and storytelling.
At the core of CHIEFFALO americana is a commitment to craft and country. Every item is American-made, a reflection of Rodger and Jackie’s mission to support small makers and breathe life back into American manufacturing.

Nine years ago, Shannon and AJ founded Integrity Events & Design, driven by a shared passion for creating unforgettable celebrations. What they didn’t expect was how deeply they would become woven into the love stories of so many couples. “I’d been in the event planning space for years and always dreamed of owning my own business,” Shannon says. “AJ came from the hospitality world, so once we got married, it felt natural to combine our strengths and go all in.” Today, as co-owners, they pour their hearts into every celebration, crafting personalized experiences and one-of-a-kind designs that make each wedding as meaningful and unique as the couple at its center.
When Sumi and Jesal reached out to Integrity Events & Design, they had a clear vision and needed the right team to help bring it to life. Shannon and her team stepped in to fine-tune the logistics and ensure every detail ran smoothly across their multi-day celebration. “I love being able to create different themes and aesthetics for each event we plan,” Shannon shares. “We partnered with Sumi and Jesal to bring their vision to life, ensuring every moment felt intentional, personal, and exactly as they dreamed it would.”
To ensure each day felt distinct yet cohesive, Shannon and her team helped weave a narrative through every detail. “The couple
and I got along great,” she says. “Bringing their vision to life down to the smallest touch was a priority. We wanted every event to feel personal, yet seamlessly connected across the weekend.”
Integrity Events & Design offers a range of packages tailored to each couple’s needs. Sumi and Jesal selected Shannon and her team to play a key role in creating timelines and floor plans, managing vendor payments, and coordinating the rehearsal, ceremony, and reception. The Integrity team helped transform all the planning into a weekend that felt seamless, personal, and true to the couple’s style. “Connecting couples with top-tier local vendors is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.
Fort Worth has such an incredible creative community, and I love collaborating with them,” Shannon shares.
While Shannon leads the charge on planning, design, and coordination, AJ and his team of mixologists add their own layer of magic behind the bar by curating unforgettable cocktail experiences that feel just as thoughtful as the rest of the celebration. “When couples include our bar service, they’re not just getting drinks, they’re getting a custom experience,” AJ says. “From private tastings to bar menu design that ties into their vibe and vision, it’s one more way we make sure every detail feels intentional.”
“The couple and I got along great,” she says. “Bringing their vision to life down to the smallest touch was a priority. We wanted every event to feel personal, yet seamlessly connected across the weekend.”
During Sumi and Jesal’s Sangeet—a vibrant pre-wedding celebration—AJ and his team delivered a bespoke cocktail experience at the CR Smith Museum in Fort Worth. Guests sipped signature drinks while enjoying lively music and dance performances, setting the tone for a weekend full of joy, culture, and connection.
The day of the ceremony was equally unforgettable. Surrounded by loved ones beneath a stunning floral arch, Sumi and Jesal said their vows in a light and airy ceremony. Later, the celebration shifted to a speakeasy-inspired reception, where every detail echoed the couple’s personality and style. “Each element told its own story,” Shannon says. “We love bringing a couple’s vision to life in a way that feels meaningful and intentional.”
For Shannon and AJ, it’s never just about planning weddings; it’s about creating meaningful moments. “From start to finish, we’re all in,” Shannon says. “We take pride in our work because every couple deserves to feel like their celebration was made just for them, with heart, intention, and a whole lot of love.”

Brothers Tom and Tim Bates have been helping families build their dream homes in Fort Worth and the surrounding areas for nearly twenty years.
Long before founding Glendarroch Homes, Tom and Tim were already builders at heart, turning schoolyard Lemonhead
“It’s really fun when a client wants to build a home that reflects a different part of the world or culture.”
candy sales in middle school and lakeside golf ball ventures in high school into their first entrepreneurial pursuits. They shared a love for problem-solving, a passion for hard work, and a dream of creating something of their own.
Part of that vision was shaped by their childhood abroad. Living in Singapore and Scotland exposed them to a wide range of architectural styles and cultural influences—experiences that still inspire their designs today. “It’s really fun when a client wants to build a home that reflects a different part of the world or culture,” Tim says. “You could have an English Tudor that looks like it’s been there for 300 years. Those are just really fun projects.”
After graduating from high school in Houston, Tom was the first one to make his way over to Fort Worth to play baseball at Texas Christian University (TCU),
quickly falling in love with the city. “After I graduated, I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted to do, but I knew I didn’t want to be at a desk all day,” Tom shares. “Although I didn’t know much about construction at the time, I interviewed for a warranty manager position at Legacy Homes, and after a few years, I was able to move my way up to Area Manager.”
While Tom was working in the construction field, Tim was working for RECARO Aircraft Seating as an Engineer. When the idea of starting a construction business together began to take shape, Tim realized he wanted to delve deeper into his understanding of running a business and returned to TCU to pursue an MBA.
Glendarroch Homes broke ground in 2006, but shortly after, the housing market collapsed. Rather than abandon their new business, the brothers paused and recalibrated their approach. “The recession forced
us to be strategic,” Tim says. “We didn’t just want to survive it, we wanted to come out of it better, more equipped, and with a business that could weather anything.”
They put their focus on building relationships and listening deeply to their clients’ needs. These values have quietly shaped how Glendarroch conducts business, from blueprints to final walk-throughs. And by the time the market recovered, they were ready not just to build homes, but to build trust with the community that they put roots in.
Their passion for building custom homes is not only what fuels each project when plans start to form, but also what gets them over the finish line. “I want to see the fruits of whatever I do – it’s tangible, taking part in building a home. I could drive by that for the next 100 years,” Tom shares.
“You get to see what you’ve built and created constantly. It’s just like someone who's crafted a sculpture. I can drive by with my kids and show them the tangible work we’ve done throughout the years,” Tim adds.
Their passion for this work is evident in every project, including a recent build for Manesh and Kiran Shah in the Viridian neighborhood. The home blends sleek, modern design with a sense of lived-in warmth. “It turned out fantastic,” the brothers say. “We’re really proud of this one, and working with this couple was a joy.”
From the first meeting to the final walk-through, Glendarroch clients are guided through an intentional, personalized, and white-glove experience.
“Our process starts with meeting our clients where they are,” Tim explains. “We walk through existing homes with clients, ask questions, understand how they live, and what they value. Then we get
“You get to see what you’ve built and created constantly. It’s just like someone who’s crafted a sculpture. I can drive by with my kids and show them the tangible work we’ve done throughout the years.”
to work drawing plans, meeting with architects, and collaborating every step of the way.”
Once construction begins, Tom takes the lead on-site. “We go over everything with our clients – plans, materials, expectations, all before breaking ground,” he says. “And we stay in constant communication. Things move fast during the construction phase, and we want clients to know they’re in the loop and their priorities matter. We never want them to feel surprised by anything during the process.”
That intention and care don’t end at move-in. Two months after a family settles in, the team returns for a final walk-through. “That last check-in helps us ensure we’ve delivered not just
a beautiful home, but a great experience,” Tim says. “If anything needs to be fixed or updated after they have had the opportunity to live in their new home for a couple of months, we come back in and make sure it’s taken care of.”
Even with the global perspective they gained as kids, Tom and Tim say Fort Worth always felt like home. “After graduating, I was offered a job in Germany,” Tim shares. “But my wife and I loved Fort Worth. We knew we wanted to plant our roots here.”
Today, those roots run deep. Nearly 20 years after founding Glendarroch Homes, the
brothers have helped hundreds of families do the same, building homes that reflect their clients’ personalities, stories, and dreams.
“Our clients trust us with something incredibly personal—the place they’ll raise kids, host holidays, and build their lives,” Tom says. “That’s not a responsibility we take lightly.”
If you’re looking to build your dream home, Tom and Tim want you to know this: “We’ll be honest. We’ll be transparent. And we’ll be right there with you—every step of the way.”

FRANK KENT MOTOR COMPANY CELEBRATES 90 YEARS OF SERVING THE FORT WORTH COMMUNITY.
ARTICLE BY MICHELLE W. PARNELL
“Our tagline is ‘community driven, locally different since 1935’, and a big part of that is working with great organizations in the Fort Worth community.”
Founded in 1935, the Frank Kent Motor Company holds the distinction of remaining locally owned as well as family owned and operated. As the company celebrates 90 years serving the Fort Worth Community, it continues to honor the legacy of its founder, Frank Kent. As a leader in the automotive sales industry in the early 1900’s, Frank Kent founded and operated his dealerships with the guiding principles of providing exceptional service to customers, keeping a large selection of inventory on hand, and giving back to the community.
As the fourth generation to run the company, siblings Will Churchill and Corrie Fletcher carry on the tradition of morals, values, and ethics before profit. They also continue to grow and expand the company to meet the needs of the community. Under their leadership, Frank Kent Motor Company has grown to include two stand-alone Cadillac dealerships, in Fort Worth and Arlington. The company also encompasses Southwest ADI, a nationwide accessories distribution company, and other exciting enterprises such as Custom Koncepts, Fort Brewery, and Heim BBQ.
Part of what drew Marketing Director Aaron Heornke to Frank Kent five years ago was the company’s commitment to its employees and to serving the community. “One of the things I love about Frank Kent is that we are a very charitable company,” he shares. “Our tagline is ‘community driven, locally different since 1935’, and a big part
of that is working with great organizations in the Fort Worth community. Being on the front lines of that is a blessing and I really get to see how working with the community makes a difference.”
Dream Park, a universally inclusive play area for kids of all ages and abilities, shines as just one example of Frank Kent’s community involvement. A few years ago, the company planned, raised funds for, and built the large play area which is located in Trinity Park. After completion, Frank Kent donated the area, which is enjoyed by countless children and their families, to the city of Fort Worth.
In addition to giving back to the community as a corporation, Frank Kent encourages employees to get involved and serve the community as well. “We always encourage our employees to get out and volunteer,” says Aaron. “We also empower employees to give back to the community by having them choose one organization to donate up to $500 to annually. For example, some choose local sports chapters, or they may have a kid who wants to attend cheerleading camp or a cheerleading competition. We'll write a check for $500, or whatever amount that they want up to $500, to sponsor that activity.”
An equally important aspect to Frank Kent’s connection to the Fort Worth community is being an active part of the growing economy and a constant and stable employer for local families. Many employees stay with the company long-term, providing continuity in service
and in building relationships with customers and the community.
“The commitment to our employees is prevalent throughout the dealerships, where employee events and even sports teams are formed and sponsored by the company,” explains Aaron. “Making our employees not just co-workers, but a family you want to spend time with, even outside of work.”
Another outstanding quality of the company is treating customers fairly, which contributes to the high volume of repeat customers and customers who are themselves the third, fourth, and fifth generations to patron Frank Kent. This commitment is also reflected in the numerous awards and accolades the company continues to receive annually, including being awarded GM Dealer of the Year on multiple occasions and being recognized as a Cadillac Master Dealer.
“One thing that we do differently for our clients that you won't see in a lot of auto dealership groups is we never charge over MSRP,” explains Aaron. “We have never done that in the 90 years that we have been in business and that is part of the commitment to our community. We believe that profits come from continued business and the resiliency of our customers seeing us as somebody who is fair and transparent.”
As the team at Frank Kent Motor Company celebrates 90 years of serving Fort Worth and the surrounding communities, they invite you to stop by, say hello, and experience first hand what makes Frank Kent special. Frank Kent Cadillac is located at 3500 West Loop 820 South in Fort Worth. For more information, visit frankkent cadillac.com or call 817-953-2909. For Dr. Evan Perkins, orthodontics encompasses so much more than the technical aspects of creating beautiful smiles, it is also about encouraging smiles through showing genuine interest in patients and what matters most to them.
“Our patients tell us about the books that they read, the trips they’ve taken, or the fish they've caught,” shares Dr. Perkins. “We hear about their bands and music, and some will bring their artwork in for us to see it. We love investing in the lives of our patients and the things they are involved in.”
He also enjoys the front row seat to the amazing transformations that take place during the time that patients spend with him and his team at Perkins Orthodontics. “I think it's so cool to see how they change from when they first come in, not just how they change growing up physically and giving them a beautiful smile, but seeing how they change in terms of their confidence and seeing them kind of like come out of their shell as they get older,” he says.
From guiding adult teeth as they come in to ensuring correct bite alignment, the ultimate goal is to ensure teeth are protected long-term and that the jaw is well balanced and functions well. Because each
person is unique, the team at Perkins Orthodontics creates a treatment plan tailored to fit the exact needs of that patient on both an aesthetic and functional level.
As technology in orthodontics continues to evolve and improve, Dr. Perkins strives to integrate that technology into all aspects of his office. “We are truly a digital practice,” he explains. “Everything is done with a scan, not old school putty impressions, so it's a lot more comfortable. The scan basically gives us a digital impression.”
Digital scans are paired with other technologies, such as LightForce, for treatments. “LightForce uses 3D printed custom brackets, so every tooth has an individual bracket customized for it,” explains Dr Perkins. “With old-school metal brackets, they say it’s one size fits all, but in my opinion, it's one size fits none. With Light Force, every bracket is custom made to each individual tooth in your mouth.”
Another innovative technology used for treatments is Lingual, a highly aesthetic option where the braces are placed on the backside of the teeth. Lingual provides an alternative for patients who want to avoid braces on the outside of their teeth and prefer not to use trays that clip in and out, like Invisalign.
Perkins Orthodontics recently moved to a new office with exciting upgrades for patients and their families. In addition to having more space to cultivate the open concept treatment area, the office includes a private room with two treatment chairs and a business center perfect for parents and siblings who need space to work during appointments.
Dr. Perkins is also excited about two mural walls inside the office. “One mural is about the practice, but it has little things that are special to me, my wife, and our two kids hidden in painting,” he says. “The other mural wall is going to be our coloring wall, where kids can color or sign their names. It's called our Perk Pack wall.”
From the design of the office to the family-oriented atmosphere to the teamwork culture of the staff, each element of Perkins Orthodontics reflects the values Dr. Perkins holds deeply - faith, family, and creating a welcoming environment where patients and their families leave encouraged and well-informed. Tucked away in Ridglea Country Club Estates, this month’s Open House highlights a lovely three-bedroom, three-bath home that includes 2700+ square feet of indoor living space on a little over a half-acre lot. The home, which was built in 1983, underwent a comprehensive renovation in 2023 and the classic design is versatile, leaving room for personal touches and flexibility for future home décor changes.
“What is most impressive about this particular home is the use of contrast and color that creates a cohesive look throughout the house. The color black is utilized smartly for accent walls, wood trim work, and accessories,” says Kate Asay of Asay Group Real Estate. “In addition to using color and contrast, the textures in some of the mill work in the cabinetry and wall details, as well as the furnishings, give a very designer finish.”
An entertainer’s delight, the home’s front entrance leads directly into a spacious great room that includes two living areas, a dining area, and a wet bar. Perfect for large gatherings, the room provides plenty of space for hosting family and friends while still having defined areas ideal for more intimate conversations. The kitchen, equipped with a gas stovetop, double ovens, and ample counter space, is well situated for seamless entertaining.
Following the wide plank oak flooring throughout the home leads to several bedrooms, including the primary bedroom that showcases a black, wood trimmed board and batten accent wall that echoes elements of the home’s overall design. The primary bedroom includes a large ensuite bathroom that features a freestanding tub and shower wet room.
Across the back expanse of the home sits a sunroom that draws natural light and the outdoors inside. The sunroom overlooks the home’s outdoor living area that includes a pool, covered outdoor kitchen with a grill, fridge, and storage, as well as the large fenced backyard.

I love family-style meals such as a crab boil this time of year. The food is the star of the show and a vital part of the tablescape – decor optional! Additional elements included here are a large paper-sail, light blue taper candles, a few large flowers, and heavy white rope as nautical accents. You can also use other elements such as large seashells, coral or seaglass. Use whatever you have on hand that nods to the sea.
Paper-Sail Centerpiece (instructions found in Martha Stewart’s book “Handmade Holiday Crafts” page 248) set in a galvanized bucket filled with white sand.
Blue Taper Candles placed in 8oz jelly jars filled with white sand.
Glass Bottles labeled “Let’s Sail Away.” Inside, roll up a handwritten note, joke or riddle for guests to enjoy a chuckle or conversation starter.
Large Galvanized Tray overlaid with parchment paper to hold the crab boil feast.
Fill a large stock pot halfway with cold water. Season with lemon peels, bay leaves, black pepper, red pepper flakes, Old Bay Seasoning, and garlic powder. Bring to a boil and add crab legs, sausage, potatoes, and corn until cooked. Strain water and serve on a large galvanized tray, newspaper or parchment paper – enjoy your meal with guests, family style!
Give each guest a bowl of garlic butter for dipping as well as lemons for squeezing (wrapped in cheesecloth and tied with twine to avoid seeds).
Include special beverages and desserts such as a tiered lemon cake or frozen treat to beat the heat.
