The Men’s Issue
The main qualities of the man I want to be have changed several times throughout my life. However, each version has one thing in common, the desire to live right. I completely understand that my idea of “living right” may vary from yours. That being said, there are likely a few truths that resonate with all of us. Time and love being two of them, they seem to go hand in hand.
I believe love is the greatest gift given and the great est gift received. I have head knowledge of this because of Mathew 22:37-40. I have practical knowledge of this because of life. My sons (18 months and 4 months old) are a great example of this. They don’t have material things, words of comfort, or acts of service to give. Just a smile when they see me and a cry when I leave. This simple way of showing love has stirred something in me that I would die for, or maybe, and more importantly, live for.
For the past few weeks, this recurring statement has weighed heavy on me “Where you invest your time, you invest your life”. It seems like both children and the elderly have a firm grasp on this while most of us tend to forget this some where in the middle of life. My kids only want to be with me and my wife. Nothing else matters to them. Not where we are, what we have, or what we don’t have. There is such a profound lesson in this that seems easily forgotten and then later remembered. Toward the end of her days, my 96-year-old great-grandmother wished only for more time. Not money, a bigger house, or even better health, just time. It has been said, “There is always time for what matters most to you”. If that is true, then I should probably rearrange my schedule a little. I might focus less on what feels important and more on what actually matters. If love is the greatest gift, time has to be a close second.

WHEN IS A TIME/MOMENT
WHEN THE TRAJECTORY OF YOUR LIFE SHIFTED SIGNIFICANTLY?
March 18, 2010, was Match Day when fourth-year medical students learn where they will be training. As a native and lifelong Texan up to that point, finding out that I would be spending the next six years in upstate New York for my plastic surgery training was a surprise! I first developed an interest in plastic surgery while on a mission trip to Guatemala in 2005. This year, I was able to return as a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon. It was a blessing to come full circle!
LOOKING BACK, HOW HAS THAT IMPACTED WHERE YOU ARE TODAY?
The years away from Texas gave me a lot of appreciation for the beauty of upstate New York. It was not an area I would have ever imagined living in for any other reason, but it was great. More importantly, God placed me there, and I met and worked with many wonderful people and mentors to get me where I am today. After New York, I had the opportunity to do an aesthetic fellowship in Charlotte, NC. That was another fantastic experience and, luckily for me, where I met my wife. I am so grateful when I think about everything that has happened since opening the envelope in March 2010.

WHEN IS A TIME/MOMENT WHEN THE TRAJECTORY OF YOUR LIFE SHIFTED SIGNIFICANTLY?
After graduating college with an engineering degree, I began pursuing careers in the field, getting an offer but ultimately not pursuing the position. I realized that my 12+ school years had led me to the precipice of a career without passion. My wife had secured a teaching position and began her career in our hometown, so with limited options for engineering careers in the new area, I searched for other options to make ends meet. I was trying to discover what I truly wanted to pursue in life. As years passed, I found little reward in the jobs I held. I was seeking new hobbies for a sense of self-purpose. A climbing gym had opened in my hometown, so I decided to try it one day and immediately immersed myself in that world. I opened my own gym in Fort Worth five years later.
LOOKING BACK, HOW HAS THAT IMPACTED WHERE YOU ARE TODAY?
When I opened a climbing gym, it was a clear shift from a safe, predictable, planned-out path to one that truly resonates with my passion. I often consider how different my wife and my lives would be had I begun that career in engineering. I would be 11 years deep in a respected field. And 11 years at a desk.
Today, my passion drives me. I center all aspects of my life around my purpose, and I have endless opportunities to foster meaningful experiences every day.
The hardest part of the journey was accepting the massive time and financial commitment I invested in becoming an engineer, only to change directions. I had to embrace my personal growth, step out of my comfort zone, and dive into something that didn’t feel like work because I loved it so much. It taught me to measure success by the joy you find in your daily activities and the difference you make in the lives of others. This experience has been transformational and reaffirmed to me that following your passion can lead to an unimaginable life that is deeply fulfilling.

WHEN IS A TIME/MOMENT WHEN THE TRAJECTORY OF YOUR LIFE SHIFTED SIGNIFICANTLY?
My acceptance into dental school marked the beginning of a journey filled with challenges, growth, and fulfillment. It shifted my trajectory by guiding me towards a profession where I could tangibly impact lives through oral health. Dentistry led to new opportunities for learning, networking, and personal development. Some of the hardest and most valuable lessons I have learned are from my four years in dental school. From that moment onward, I was on a path that shaped not only my career, but also my identity and aspirations for the future.
LOOKING BACK, HOW HAS THAT IMPACTED WHERE YOU ARE TODAY?
The most important lesson I learned in dental school is that while natural talent can offer a head start, hard work is what is going to get you where you want to go in life. Hard work is the foundation for lasting success, and taught me grit, determination, and perseverance. My work ethic allows me to overcome obstacles, refine my skills, and achieve my goals. Unlike talent, which is often inherent and static, hard work is a skill that can be cultivated and honed over time. The most successful individuals I have met have the drive to become something bigger than themselves. If I hadn’t had the opportunity to attend dental school, I don’t know that I would have learned this lesson as well as I did. The importance of hard work and dedication to what you do is something that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. CONTINUED >

WHEN IS A TIME/MOMENT WHEN THE TRAJECTORY OF YOUR LIFE SHIFTED SIGNIFICANTLY?
The day I established a relationship with Jesus Christ was a pivotal moment for me. It was a moment that brought purpose and clarity to my life. Growing up outside the church, I navigated life without the guiding light that now directs me. Reflecting on my past without Jesus, I embrace it as an essential element that shaped me into the person I am today. I firmly believe that adversity and challenges, often labeled as trauma or negative experiences, are catalysts for growth and resilience. Through my unwavering faith, I recognize that God intricately weaves a silver lining into every circumstance, urging us to seek meaning and wisdom amid trials. My relationship with God has become my anchor, providing solace and strength during life’s unpredictable ebbs and flows. I have learned to trust in the unwavering presence of God, who never falters, offering love, guidance, and unwavering support.
LOOKING BACK, HOW HAS THAT IMPACTED WHERE YOU ARE TODAY?
Since the day I welcomed the Lord into my life, His presence has become the cornerstone upon which I build my future. The lessons of patience and forgiveness instilled in me by my faith have an immeasurable impact on my success in business. As someone dedicated to enhancing homes and alleviating the stress that often accompanies such endeavors, my faith serves as a moral compass, guiding me to treat and care for others within the business realm. I have discovered that success in any venture hinges on patience, empathy, and a commitment to providing informative guidance. Without my faith, I would feel adrift in a world fraught with uncertainty, and my sense of purpose would remain unfulfilled. Embracing the teachings of love and compassion that I find in the Bible, I strive to align my actions with the values that resonate with God’s approval, fostering a sense of harmony and fulfillment in my personal and professional endeavors. In the uncertainty of life, faith has woven a thread of hope and resilience inside me, infusing each day with purpose and meaning. As I continue on this journey guided by the light of my faith, God reminds me that He is by my side. With Him, I can treat every obstacle as an opportunity for growth and transformation.

WHEN IS A TIME/MOMENT WHEN THE TRAJECTORY OF YOUR LIFE SHIFTED SIGNIFICANTLY?
A moment that truly shifted the course of my life was when I was 6-years-old. I went to a gathering with my father and helped a man in his seventies walk upstairs. He was so happy with me that he took me by the hand and asked me who my father was. I got scared because I thought I had done something wrong. But when we got to my father, he told everyone what I did for him. I loved that someone I helped was so thankful. From that day, it has been my goal to help people. Whenever a person tells me their worries, in the back of my mind, I am thinking about how I can help them. It’s incredible how a single decision can have such a significant impact on one’s life.
LOOKING BACK, HOW HAS THAT IMPACTED WHERE YOU ARE TODAY?
As I look back at how that one decision changed my life for the better, it’s become second nature for me to help people. When my wife worked for Caring Senior Service in San Antonio, she showed me how amazing the company is, and we made the decision to open the Fort Worth location, helping seniors at their homes or other residences. As I look back and realize how amazing it is to help seniors, I wish I could have started earlier.

WHEN IS A TIME/MOMENT WHEN THE TRAJECTORY OF YOUR LIFE SHIFTED SIGNIFICANTLY?
My life changed in college when the wine bug bit me one night. I was working at the University Club in Wichita Falls when I learned I had a good palate for tasting wine. I had just started waiting tables when a member had to leave early and left a full bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon. After the shift ended, a manager and I sat down to “taste” the wine. At this point in my life, I had never tried wine besides the occasional glass of white Zinfandel or terrible Chardonnay that my grandmother had in her refrigerator. We tasted the wine, and the manager asked what I thought. I randomly started naming flavors that I tasted. He thought I had read the back label or saw a review on the wine, but I didn’t even know what Wine Spectator was. The following week, I started tasting wines with the members to select labels for the club. It was the right place and the right time.
LOOKING BACK, HOW HAS THAT IMPACTED WHERE YOU ARE TODAY?
From the moment of the tasting, I knew I wanted to work in the wine industry. After college, I worked a few outside sales jobs but could never get my foot firmly in the wine industry door. Finally, I got enough courage and money for Deedra, my wife, and I to open Put a Cork in it in January 2006.
Our little wine store has survived a lot over the years, and we’ve overcome things they don’t teach you in business school, like two recessions, someone driving through the front of the store, and a worldwide pandemic.
I have tasted some high-quality wines and met some of the most hospitable people from all over the world.
Sometimes, I wonder what would have happened if that member hadn’t gotten that call at dinner and left that bottle for me to discover. Saluti!

I am endlessly fortunate to have Melissa as my partner in life and the office, helping others, including me. The connections with our patients and clients have enriched my life. WHEN IS A TIME/MOMENT
WHEN THE TRAJECTORY OF YOUR LIFE SHIFTED SIGNIFICANTLY?
I was a warehouse manager in my early twenties when my former wife and I learned we were having a baby. I knew I needed to make a drastic career change if I was going to be able to support our growing family. I called a friend who worked for Tom Thumb repairing their freezers and such, figuring he could help me into the refrigeration industry. I worked for Tom Thumb during the day while attending an HVAC technical school at night.
Shortly after I completed my coursework, I got a job performing HVAC and facilities maintenance at a high-end department store in Dallas. After eighteen months in that position and realizing there would not be upward mobility within the company, I decided to pursue an HVAC career with a service company. I started my own HVAC service company at the beginning of 2013 and haven’t looked back. I have proudly worked in the HVAC field for almost 40 years now.
LOOKING BACK, HOW HAS THAT IMPACTED WHERE YOU ARE TODAY?
My decision to enter the HVAC industry many years ago has considerably impacted my life. Working on machines is my passion and gift. I honestly have no idea where I would be today if I had not done so. Over the last forty years, I have witnessed many procedural and equipment-type changes that showed me how important it is to teach young trainees the proper procedures to maintain and diagnose HVAC equipment. I’ve seen first-hand in many graduates I’ve hired that trade schools offer limited fieldwork opportunities. My goal in training is to provide the most up-to-date technical information, moral and ethical awareness, and common-sense knowledge, which in turn creates confident employees and happy customers.

SUNFLOWER MAN BRINGS PASSION TO THE INTRICACY OF MENSWEAR AND WATCHES.
Matthew Miller likes to say he was born with a pencil in his hand, and that’s not too far from the truth. From his earliest memories, he was sketching, drawing, and doodling, and he’s taken what isn’t just a passion, but an intrinsic part of who he is and created a career filled with inspiration and creativity.
“I've just always been drawing on part of who I am whether I want it to be or not. And thankfully, I love it, so I don't hate my destiny,” he says.
Raised in Michigan, Miller tried two different schools before deciding he already had the tools and skills to advance in his artistic career. “I was gonna learn whatever I wanted to learn anyway; I just had

the passion, and I wanted to learn what it meant to be an artist in the world,” he says.
Known for his intricate paintings of watches and menswear, using a combination of ink watercolor and ink wash, Miller is perhaps one of 10 artists anywhere doing this type of work. The result is the perfect blend of fashion and art, and his work highlights the details of each piece, whether it be a watch or a finely made suit. For Miller, every item he studies and paints tells a story.
When asked where his inspiration comes from, Miller says that he loves the
story behind the object he’s painting. “I'm a detail person but very much an expressionist. The work is about the process, the brushstrokes, the emotion behind the image. And in a way I'm subverting the expectation of photographic realism with apparent brushstrokes in an illusionistic expression,” he explains.
When a client buys one of Miller’s paintings, he’s looking for that emotional reaction. “A lot of people love their watches, and they have a lot of emotions invested. And when they can see these paintings that you know, like, I'll spend 20 to 30 hours on,

people can see that and react emotionally because it reminds them of this thing they love so much,” Millers says.
Miller has built an impressive career. He works with companies to create illustrative materials for watches that are ready to be sold, and, on the fine arts side, private collectors will commission a piece to add to their collection for an artistic take on the watches they covet.
Fort Worth’s fashion and art community is a tight-knit group, and Miller works closely with menswear designer Franklin Moss and shopowner Austin Roberson. He
also collaborates with The Watch Preserve, a new brick-and-mortar store located on Magnolia Avenue in Fort Worth. Owner Nick Libby has been working with watches since childhood and went to school in Germany to study the art of watchmaking and repairs. You can even find Miller there on most Saturdays, painting watches. How do sunflowers tie into all of this? Sunflowerman is a shout-out to a core childhood memory for Miller, and that’s where you’ll find his impressive portfolio, either @sunflowerman on Instagram or on his website sunflowerman.com

MASTERING THE MENTAL GAME
Explore the Intersection of Sports Psychology and Storytelling with a Bestselling Author
ARTICLE BY HANNAH BARRICKS
PHOTOGRAPHY BY MACKA PHOTOGRAPHY
In between sessions with golfers and actors, author and Mental Management Trainer Troy Basham sits with West Fort Worth Lifestyle to discuss his incredible career and the training protocol that took his dad from uncoordinated try-hard to Olympic gold medalist.
An Olympic hopeful himself, Basham followed in his father’s footsteps competitively shooting, something he highly advises against, but the family could have turned out very differently if you hear them tell the story.

Basham’s father, Lanny, was the last kid to be picked for teams in gym class, even as he dreamed of sports glory. But one day, he learned about the JRCC rifle team.
“For the first time in his life, he wasn’t bad at a sport. He wasn’t great at it, either, but he was average,” explains Bassham.
But still, Lanny became a junior national champion in the sport, attending college on an ROTC scholarship related to shooting, and eventually competed on the biggest stage in the world.
By 1972, Lanny made the Olympic team and the title of number-one shooter in the world.
“But my dad had a problem,” explains Bassham. “He thought talent was important. It’s irrelevant.”
Bassham explains that the general rule of thumb for practice says that to be good at something, a person should practice 5,000 hours. If you want to be great, put in 10,000. So, at the Olympic level, where everyone has spent a lifetime training, and the competitors are all at the same level, how does an athlete get an edge?
Lanny developed Mental Management to fill the void, a training protocol that eliminates doubt and creates consistency in winning through proven cognitive strategies. He taught the principles to his children.
“I expect to win,” says Bassham. “Everyone else hopes to win.”
After realizing his sports dreams, Basham has settled into a life training athletes, specifically golfers, and has written several books on the system, hopefully carrying the message on for generations to come. The books range from a narrative style to more textbook-like, but all delve deeper into a component of Mental Management.
“With Winning in Mind” was Lanny’s first book, outlining the basic principles of Mental Management.
“It gives you an individual athlete’s perspective on what you need to do to manage the mind and take advantage of your skill level,” says Bassham. “So, it’s performance-based, not necessarily psychology-based, even though both involve mental aspects.”
Lanny wrote the book from an athlete’s perspective rather than a psychologist’s, and Bassham says it’s still a best-seller for the family.
Then, after eight years working with his father, Bassham wrote a book called “Attainment: The Twelve Elements of Performance.”
“Ninety-five percent of winning is done by 5% of participants,” he says. “What do those 5% do? What separates them?”
In the book, Bassham explores what winners have in common and outlines what the best athletes and top performers do to keep winning.
“The second book I wrote is a golf book called ‘Fore the Mind,’ he continues. “This was about an athlete’s thoughts. Golfer’s thoughts go way out of there. You’re looking at the fairway, but that’s not what golfers look at. They’re looking at the trees, the water. Where do I not want to go? Okay. Thinking inappropriately.”
Bassham says that athletes are much more successful when they look where they want to hit.
‘Fore’ is told in a narrative style from the perspective of a golfer receiving helpful advice anonymously in his golf bag.
“It’s about a tour player struggling to win,” says Bassham. “He doesn’t have a strong mental game. Later, you find out who it is. But there’s a little bit of a Yoda and Luke Skywalker thing.”
Bassham’s novels are available at mental management.com and Amazon.
“IT GIVES YOU AN INDIVIDUAL ATHLETE’S PERSPECTIVE ON WHAT YOU NEED TO DO TO MANAGE THE MIND AND TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOUR SKILL LEVEL.”

Where dreams are built from the ground up
Step into the visionary world of S4S Design + Build, a high-end architecture and construction company enjoying its eighth year blending architects and contractors during the building process to the client’s benefit. Fort Worth Architect Tom Carr began the company after remodeling his home in 2015. The result would reflect his passion, creativity, and dedication to the art of home building and a business model that could save you money and time on your next home project.
“It’s not like a typical build situation where an architect generates plans, it goes to a builder for cost estimating, and the relationship between architect and builder ends,” Carr explains. “We handle all that internally, so the project tends to be more streamlined and allows us to react quickly to things that change during the building or remodeling process, which can happen.”
When building anything, challenges occur, and often, time is money. With the architect and the contractor connected, the two can figure out a situation on site, make the necessary drawings, and finish the job quickly.
“It’s a fully integrated architectural design and construction process,” he continues.

In 2015, Carr purchased a home for his family to live in. The space was a 1966 mid-century modern design, about 5000 sq. ft., and S4S added another 1800 square feet to it.
“We did an interior remodel in the home when we bought it,” says Carr about the full gut, but admitted to leaving the space alone for some time afterward.
“The inside looked really nice, but the outside looked really rough,” he laughs. “We needed to remodel the existing pool and some additional guest house space for senior parents moving in temporarily to stay with us.”
Carr also reappropriated the home’s old garage space into an entertainment room and then, consequently, a new, functioning garage.
“In the process of adding all that square footage, we chose to go ahead and enhance the exterior of the house and bring it up to speed as well,” he says. “We redid the entire roof, windows, exterior rain screens, eaves, lighting, some concrete detail work, and decking.”
Carr cut the back off the existing pool and added ten feet for a Baja ledge in an admittedly complex process.
Just as it would be with clients, issues surfaced during Carr’s remodel, but he credits quick-thinking, on-site architects and the business’s longstanding history working in the community, for the quick resolutions.
More than anything, Carr wants Fort Worth to know that S4S is a downto-earth organization made up of hands-on, talented individuals.
“We’re happy to be here in the Fort Worth area,” he says. “We’re happy to be part of the community and love a challenge. So, let us know what we can do for you.”

SIP, SWIRL, AND SAVOR YOUR WAY THROUGH YOUNTVILLE, THE CULINARY HEART OF NAPA
DESTINATION DELICIOUS
Looking for a once-in-a-lifetime epicurean experience? Yountville, which is nestled into Napa County with vineyards in every direction, is a treasure trove of foodie greatness at every turn. Here is how to take a bite out of it all.
ARTICLE BY ALISON BAILIN BATZ
TRAVEL JOURNAL | FOOD + BEVERAGE 58
RH YOUNTVILLE RESTAURANT
The flashy, splashy RH Yountville is hard to miss as it takes up nearly a full block along Yountville’s ultra-walkable downtown. The Restoration Hardwareowned property is a wine, food, and shopping mecca comprised of five separate experiences—an indoor/ outdoor restaurant with a glass roof surrounded by 100-year-old olive trees and adorned with dramatic crystal chandeliers; a two-story wine-tasting space with its own share of crystal chandeliers and a sleek limestone bar; a limited-production wine center; an espresso bar; and a boutique design gallery grander in scale than even its ever-so-lavish sister property at the Scottsdale Quarter in Scottsdale.
Award-winning chef Brendan Sodikoff leads the kitchen, sourcing seasonal ingredients from nearby farms and using them as inspiration for both whimsical, shareable, and New American fare, as well as twists on comfort-food classics. His team allows vegetables to shine right along with proteins, making it the perfect place for all diets. There are at least 40 wines by the glass on the menu at any given time, many from neighboring wineries. The expertly trained staff has pairing suggestions—be they wine, craft beer, or craft cocktails—for each dish, offering recommendations based on guests’ palates and preferences over trends and their personal tastes. TASTING ROOM TREATS
Yountville’s many wineries and vineyards toss out tradition—bellying up to a bar for a flight of wine with crackers to cleanse the palate or a basic meat and cheese board—in favor of interactive foodie fun when it comes to its tastings.

Handwritten Wines , for example, offers a Breadand-Butter Experience. During the 90-minute seated event, guests can enjoy white truffle potato chips and Bouchon Bakery baguettes, along with multiple mouthwatering artisan butters. The butters are handmade to complement five of the winery’s most awarded varietals that are made on the Napa Valley hillside and most coveted vineyard blocks. HandWrittenWines.com
Priest Ranch , which is next door to Handwritten, boasts a Bacon and Wine Tasting. A must if you love meat and wine, the 90-minute experience marries four wines with its own bacon, each of which has been flavored with everything from honey to harissa to Italian herbs to bring out distinct notes in the wine. PriestRanchWines.com
Silver Trident Winery, across the two-lane street from Priest Ranch and Handwritten—so a one-minute walk— is home to what it calls the Potato Chip Extravaganza. True to its name, those who book this crunch-tastic tasting are treated to five types of potato chips, each sourced from a small producer. Each chip comes with a glass of wine to accompany it. The combination will take your taste buds on a magical mystery tour of flavor. SilverTridentWinery.com
JCB Tasting Salon , approximately 300 feet from Silver Trident, is home to a Caviar and Sparkling Wine Pairing. This dive into the ultimate in decadence pairs four high-end sparkling wines with four distinct artisanal caviars. Prepare for bubbly effervescence and over-the-top indulgence. JCBcollection.com
Chandon is nearly a mile from the others, but well worth the three-minute drive. During its ambitious Epicurean Experience, chef Juan Cabrera highlights the beauty of bubbles by pairing his favorites with five precisely plated works of culinary art. Chandon.com
Baldacci Family Vineyards sits at the intersection of Yountville and Stag’s Leap, and its Perfect Pairings program is just that. The nibble-heavy experience explores the science of how wine and food amplify each other, and even offers suggestions of what to pair with your personal favorite bites and sips. BaldacciVineyards.com

ROMANTIC RESORT RESTAURANTS
As one might imagine, all the accommodations in the region drip luxury, but Hotel Yountville, Bardessono Hotel and Spa, and North Block Hotel stand out, thanks in great part to their dining options.
Hotel Yountville , just steps from more than a dozen tasting rooms and boutiques and built using river rocks from the nearby Napa River, has elegance to spare—and that extends to Heritage Oak, its signature eatery. Guests in the know always arrive prior to their reservations for killer craft cocktails (and adult popsicles!) at the Y Bar before being seated for elevated comfort food infused with wine country sophistication. HotelYountville.com
Bardessono Hotel and Spa is approximately two blocks from Hotel Yountville. The striking, sprawling LEED Platinum Certified property, situated within its own vineyard, is committed to providing a lavish experience for guests and diners within a sustainable environment. Its world-renowned Lucy Restaurant & Bar—named for the Bardessono family’s matriarch—serves up craveable farm-to-fork dishes with global flair, using ingredients from the hotel’s orchards, on-site certified organic farming garden, and similarly minded farms and purveyors across the region. Bonus: The dog-friendly restaurant also has a menu for pups. Bardessono.com
North Block Hotel, which is nearly next door to RH Yountville, features all things wood-fired and wonderful at its primarily al fresco Restaurant at North Block. Beyond the gorgeous grilled main dishes, North Block is a happy hour hot spot thanks to its daily Oyster Hour, where fresh oysters are just $1, as well as a local craft beer selection and seasonally changing menu of scrumptious sourdough pizzas. CELEB CHEF SUPPER CLUB
No gourmet guide to Yountville would be complete without some stargazing. Many of the world’s most celebrated celebrity chefs sharpen their knives and showcase their skills in Yountville.
French Laundry helped put the region on the map. The prix fixe spot—named by Anthony Bourdain as the best restaurant in the world—is one of the only restaurants to hold three Michelin stars. Every dish tells a story, and every visit is unique. Founder Thomas Keller is a veteran of several Food Network shows, a staple of talk shows, and a guest judge on Top Chef. FrenchLaundry.com
Mustards Grill , a casual, yet elegant spot, is known for American fare and is named to honor Napa’s yellow mustard flowers that provide vital nutrients to the vines. The restaurant is covered in them, save for the space carved out for its organic garden. Its founder is bestselling cookbook author and Top Chef: Masters contender Cynthia Pawlcyn. MustardsGrill.com
Bottega Napa Valley excels at bold Italian flavors in a dizzyingly delicious setting complete with dreamy stone fireplaces and glass chandeliers. Emmy® award-winning chef Michael Chiarello helms Bottega, always seeking to authentically connect guests with the flavors from his family’s roots in Southern Italy. BottegaNapaValley.com
Bistro Jeanty brings the French countryside to Yountville. The brainchild of Michelin star and James Beard Award-winner Philippe Jeanty, the bistro has been a Napa staple since 1998. Today, Philippe’s daughter Camille continues his legacy, creating each menu as an homage to her father’s favorite childhood food memories from his native France, and diners taste the love in every bite. Since beginning CrossFit in 2011, I have developed a strong belief that CrossFit is the most effective and enjoyable way to exercise. However, it is not a one size fits all. At CrossFit Westwood, we offer 1-Hour, Group Fitness classes (CrossFit) as well as Personal Training and Small Group Training to fit individuals needs. Our gym actually consists of two gyms, one for CrossFit classes, and the other for your more traditional gym setup. All of our memberships come with 24 hour access to accommodate everyone’s schedules. I have been training individuals and group fitness classes since 2012 and have developed a passion for relationship building and all things related to gym business. Working out is the highlight of my day and my goal is for everyone that comes to CrossFit Westwood to experience exercise and working out as an enjoyable activity. Founder
