LIFESTYLE LETTER
Exploring the Best of Summer We live in a time where productivity tends to run the show. Schedules are packed, tasks are tracked, and it often feels like every moment needs a purpose. I get caught up in it, too. It’s easy to think the only things worth doing are the ones we can plan or control. But that kind of pace doesn’t leave much room for discovery or connection. Lately, I’ve been paying more attention to the moments that make me feel grounded and connected. And they’re almost never the carefully planned ones. They’re the afternoons that turn into unexpected adventures. The wrong turns that lead to a new view. The quiet trails and lakefronts you find by chance. Those are the memories that stay with me. Since the start of the year, I’ve been more intentional about how I spend time outside of work. The best days are the simple ones with morning coffee on a patio, long walks with my dog, and being open to wherever the day goes. West Austin makes that kind of ease feel natural. Whether it’s paddleboarding on Lake Travis, sailing from Lakeway Marina, or catching golden hour along the Hamilton Greenbelt, each moment helps reset and recharge in the best way. This month’s issue is your reminder to step outside, try something new, and spend time with people you love. A quiet evening or a spontaneous afternoon outdoors might be just what you need. Wishing you a summer full of sunshine and new discoveries,

Through The Lens of Alissa Cordoba HOW ONE WEST AUSTIN PHOTOGRAPHER HELPS BRANDS CAPTURE THEIR MOST AUTHENTIC SELVES.
Alissa Cordoba
Alissa Cordoba has spent the past 14 years using her camera to tell stories that feel honest and personal. With a background in business and a love for creative work, she found her stride helping entrepreneurs bring their brands to life through thoughtful, natural photography. Her sessions are relaxed and intentional, guided by a true interest in the people she photographs. Working closely with businesses across West Austin, Alissa captures more than just a professional image. She focuses on the moments that show who someone is and what they care about. From quiet time in a studio to hands-on work in the field, her photos reflect the real spirit behind the business.
Alissa Cordoba HOW DID YOU GET STARTED IN PHOTOGRAPHY, AND WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO PURSUE IT PROFESSIONALLY? I have loved photography since I was little, so choosing it as a career was a no-brainer for me. I’ve always loved capturing real moments—people in their own space, doing what they do. Over time, I found myself strongly drawn to working with businesses. HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY STYLE? I’d say it’s clean and natural, with a purpose behind every photo. It’s storytelling, but always with strategy in mind. In the beginning, I just wanted everything to look beautiful (and it still does!), but now it’s also about making sure the images speak to the right audience and support what the business is trying to say.

WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT WORKING WITH BRANDS AND BUSINESSES? I love helping business owners see their brand come to life visually. When someone says, “This finally feels like me,” that’s the best. It’s also just fun to be part of that behind-the-scenes growth, meeting new people and feeling the excitement in the room when everything comes together in a beautiful way.
Scoggin Pigg Rothfeld Financial Strategies Group of Wells Fargo Advisors, Photography by Alissa Cordoba
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE KIND OF SHOOT TO WORK ON AND WHY? Anytime I get to photograph an individual or a team in their real work environment, I’m all in. I love capturing the everyday moments—the behind-the-scenes, the real people doing what they do best. It’s always more fun (and honestly, way more meaningful) than stiff headshots in front of a white wall. I always say: people love seeing people, and that’s exactly the kind of work I love to create. WHAT’S ONE THING PEOPLE MIGHT NOT KNOW ABOUT WHAT GOES INTO CREATING A GREAT BRAND SHOOT? The shoot itself is just one small part of a much bigger picture. There’s so much that happens before—learning about the brand, figuring out who they’re trying to reach, what their vibe is, and how they want to be seen. It’s not just about showing up with a camera. It’s about creating a plan so every image has a job to do, and doesn’t blend in with their competition. IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU’D LIKE TO SHARE, SUCH AS THE BEST WAY TO CONTACT YOU? If you’re thinking about updating your brand photos and want them to actually feel like you (and also work hard for your business), I’d love to chat. You can reach me at AlissaCordobaBrands.com or find me on Instagram @AlissaCordoba_Brands.

Owner and President | @SpicewoodVineyards SpicewoodVineyards.com
Great wine begins with grit, family, and warm hospitality. Those values run deep at Spicewood Vineyards, and no one represents them better than Owner and President Ron Yates. Since taking ownership in 2007, Ron has led the winery with a focus on craftsmanship, strong community ties, and a clear commitment to quality.
WHAT DRIVES YOUR STANDARDS FOR EXCELLENCE AND HOSPITALITY?
I have always been motivated by pushing the boundaries of wine quality in Texas. We have strived to improve the quality of our wine every single harvest since we started 17 years ago. I really enjoy the challenges that come with growing grapes and making great wine, but I also enjoy people. Creating a space where our neighbors can come relax and spend time with friends and family has been a real point of pride for us, and in order to accomplish that, our hospitality has to be impeccable.
HOW DOES THE VINEYARD REFLECT YOUR COMMUNITY?
We are very laid back and comfortable here at Spicewood Vineyards. We want you to feel at home and relaxed while you enjoy our wine, and I believe we have done a great job of that. I also really value the reaction when people realize how serious our wines are in contrast to the casual environment.
WHAT’S NEW THIS SEASON?
We had some great events this past spring and early summer, and one highlight was the release of our first estategrown Grenache rosé in June, celebrated with live music and fresh ceviche. You can learn more about our upcoming events on our website, SpicewoodVineyards.com.

WHAT HAS BEEN MOST REWARDING FOR YOU?
The most rewarding part of owning and running Spicewood Vineyards for me has been seeing the actual culmination of hard work. I love how each year starts new in the spring, and it’s never the same from year to year. There is a long, difficult struggle just to get to harvest with great fruit, and at that point, you are only halfway there. Now comes the winemaking side of things, which has its own difficulties. It’s great to watch people spend time with friends and loved ones over a glass of wine that represents years of our hard work. That, and the fact I get to do it all with my family and good friends along for the ride.

3 FINANCIAL TIPS FOR
Investment Success in 2025 and Beyond Hold Your Assets Separately. Demand Unbiased, Fiduciary Advice. Work with a fiduciary advisor whose firm safeguards client assets at a separate third-party custodian. At Old Vine Capital, we use Charles Schwab to custody client accounts. Independent custody helps eliminate conflicts of interest and ensures your investment advice remains custom, objective, and fully aligned with your goals.
Allocate to Private Markets and Non-U.S. Equities for Broader Diversification Allocating to private credit, private equity, and venture capital can add new sources of return and lower portfolio correlation to public markets. Adding non-U.S. global equities further enhances diversification and can help reduce portfolio volatility over time.
Avoid High-Fee, High-Conflict Products Products like annuities and mutual funds often carry hidden fees, tax inefficiencies, and embedded sales incentives. Every dollar saved boosts your long-term compounding power—making low-cost, taxefficient strategies critical for success.
PLAN WITH CONFIDENCE. INVEST WITH PURPOSE.

Brian Borichevsky, Founder and CEO of ROK Golf
A conversation with Brian Borichevsky, Founder and CEO at ROK Golf.
1. HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE ATMOSPHERE AND COMMUNITY THAT HAS GROWN AROUND ROK GOLF SINCE YOU FIRST OPENED?
From the early days, the vision for ROK Golf was holistic golf improvement in a “seriously fun” atmosphere. Lessons, practice, competition, training, equipment, and fun, all are essential to improve. ROK combines elite simulator technology (Trackman), expert instructors, and a laid-back 19th hole vibe that makes it enjoyable. As membership grows, the community grows with it. Our leagues are a great example, expanding with each new season. Golf improvement takes work, but players will only stick with it if it’s fun, they see results, and it fits their schedule. ROK delivers on all three.
2. WHAT’S THE BIGGEST MISCONCEPTION PEOPLE HAVE ABOUT GOLF IMPROVEMENT?
The most common misconception is that improvement comes from just playing or hitting balls “blind” on the range. Another is that indoor turf can’t simulate real conditions. The truth is, the best players
in the world practice far more than they play, and they do it with data, video, and coaching. Our technology eliminates variables like weather, range ball quality, and bad lies. Practicing indoors gives players consistent surfaces and instant feedback through Trackman, video, and instruction.
3. WHAT MAKES ROK GOLF DIFFERENT IN HOW YOU APPROACH LONG-TERM PROGRESS?
Every golfer learns differently and needs different support. We offer lessons, coaching, equipment, and competition under one roof. That allows us to be honest about what a player actually needs. Sometimes it’s equipment, sometimes it’s just refining one swing element. We avoid selling large lesson packs and upselling unnecessary gear. Our core the mission is to build long term relationships with our customers and trust that their success will drive our growth. ROK Golf has two Austin area locations, one in Westlake Hills at 701 S. Capital of Texas Hwy Ste 520E and one in Bee Cave at 12908 Shops Pkwy Ste 100.

Picnics Pairings
Have you been eyeing a breathtaking view or a luscious green patch near a waterscape? For special times with your favorite people, nothing says warm weather fun like a picnic. Follow these tips for preparation ideas.
Ambiance: Throw pillows are a must. Pull them from
your couches or invest in outdoor pillows that can be used repeatedly. A large throw is also essential to protect from moist ground and grass stains. Bring your favorite tunes with one of the many available portable speakers or unplug and enjoy the sounds of nature. Cut flowers add a wow factor.
Enjoy your perfect picnic!

Gear: You don’t have to own a picnic basket to have a picnic.
But if you do bring a basket, make sure to have some way to chill your perishables and drinks. Reusable silverware, plastic wine or drink cups, and plates often come with a picnic basket set, but can also be purchased separately. Keeping it elegant, but easy (and cool) is the key!
Accompaniments:
A cheese plate with fruit is the perfect start to your picnic fare. As with the cheese, your drink selections should coordinate with the main dish. For salads, pair accoutrements with the dressing in mind. A lemony herb vinaigrette dressing goes well with smooth cheeses and tart beverages such as lemonade, prosecco, or sauvignon blanc.
