Shrimp BLT Wrap INGREDIENTS ++ 6 Georgia shrimp, heads removed, peeled and deveined ++ 1 garlic herb tortilla ++ 1 handful arugula ++ 1/4 cup avocado slices ++ 3 slices Roma tomato ++ 1 tablespoon jalapeno ranch* ++ 2 slices bacon ++ 1/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese ++ Salt and pepper, to taste ++ *See recipe below

DIRECTIONS Sautee shrimp until cooked. Set aside. Heat tortilla in microwave for 15 seconds. Spread jalapeno ranch onto tortilla.

Place arugula and Roma tomatoes on tortilla. Season with salt and pepper. Add shaved Parmesan, bacon and shrimp.

Roll into burrito. Cut wrap in half and serve.

JALAPENO RANCH INGREDIENTS ++ 2 green jalapeno peppers ++ 1 poblano pepper ++ 1 ounce olive oil ++ 1/2 bunch cilantro ++ 1/4 cup lime juice ++ 1 cup sour cream ++ 1 cup mayonnaise ++ 1 cup buttermilk ++ 1/4 cup red wine vinegar ++ 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce ++ 1 teaspoon onion powder ++ 1 teaspoon garlic powder ++ Salt and pepper, to taste

DIRECTIONS Coat jalapeno peppers and poblano pepper in olive oil. Roast at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Cool peppers and remove seeds.

Place peppers in blender with lime juice, red wine vinegar and Worcestershire sauce. Blend until smooth. Add cilantro to puree and blend until smooth. Mix sour cream, mayonnaise and remaining spices with the puree.

DIRECTIONS In a shaker, combine first 3 ingredients over ice and shake well. Strain into flute or coupe and top with prosecco. Garnish with lemon twist.

NOTHING SAYS SUMMER LIKE A FOURTH OF JULY COOKOUT CELEBRATION! What better way to host friends and family during this festive time of year than an outdoor entertainment area?

Homeowners Gary and Shirley Westmoreland wanted to incorporate their large backyard into usable living space for that very reason. Working closely with their landscape designer, they divided up the space to include a kitchen, a fire pit and two separate seating/dining areas.

The outdoor kitchen features a built-in gas grill, a refrigerator and a sink. Adding themed decor to suit the occasion is a great way to keep a fresh look, while creating a drink station with a themed cocktail, like a Blueberry Coconut Sparkler, is an excellent way to welcome guests.

BLUEBERRY COCONUT SPARKLER INGREDIENTS ++ 3 cups fresh blueberries ++ 3 tablespoons lemon juice ++ 1/2 cup coconut rum ++ 2 1/2 cups ginger ale ++ Ice ++ Coconut flakes INSTRUCTIONS Muddle blueberries in the bottom of a glass.

Add lemon juice and coconut rum; stir. Strain mixture and discard blueberry skins. Add ginger ale and stir until combined. Garnish glass rims with coconut flakes. Fill glasses with ice and pour drink on top.

Monster Tree Service is a family-owned Smyrna business. Richard Pristera, founder and owner of Monster Tree Service, was born in Suffern, N.Y., and grew up in Long Island, N.Y. Richard received his associate’s degree in computer engineering from SUNY Farmingdale.

During college, Richard worked at Michaels arts and crafts store in Commack, N.Y., and became the youngest assistant store manager in the company’s history. Leaving behind friends and family, Richard moved to Charlotte, NC, at the age of 22 and decided to open an ice cream shop with two friends from Hauppauge, N.Y. After a few years of operating the ice cream shop, Richard was looking for a fresh start and moved to the Vinings area in Atlanta, Ga. Initially, Richard started his career in corporate America. He first worked with Turner Broadcasting and then The Home Depot corporate office for 16 years. Richard managed the company’s Final Mile delivery program for the entire country during the last 10 years of his tenure there.

In 2017, Richard’s career path changed again. This time he began looking at franchise opportunities and officially launched Monster Tree Service of North Atlanta in February 2018.

How has your family inspired your professional work?

As a husband and father of two kids, I always want to ensure that I provide my family with what is important. To me, the important stuff is quality time with the people I love.

This business has allowed me the flexibility to not only take care of my family but give them the gift of quality time. It is also always fun when the entire family can participate in a work event, like the recent Smyrna Jonquil Festival.
