My father was a big part of why I became a chiropractor. He had such a passion for helping people live a healthy life without medications and surgery. PUERTO RICAN HERITAGE DAY On Sunday, June 10 at the Battery, join El Super Pan and chef Hector Santiago for a Puerto Rican Heritage Celebration. Iranian-born Zach Kafaei turned 40 this year; to celebrate this milestone he got himself a magnificent Maserati as a birthday gift. THE MONEY MAN Jason Young Branch Manager, Delta Community Credit Union (Vinings) Jason Young is the newest branch manager in the Vinings area for Delta Community Credit Union, which opened its 24th branch location in the metro Atlanta/Vinings area. He attended and graduated from South Cobb High School in Austell and Georgia State University with a degree in journalism. Jason has been married 12 years to his wife, Magdalena. The two have an 8-year-old daughter, Isabelle, a 2 1/2-year-old son, and are expecting a third edition in October.

WHO IS A MOVER & SHAKER THAT HAS INSPIRED YOU? My brother, Justin Young. Although he is three years younger, I look up to him in so many ways. In 2007, he started off as an outside sales rep for Republic Services here in Atlanta. In 2016 he earned his MBA from Georgia State’s J. Mack Robinson College of Business, all while working full-time and being a full-time father and husband. Today he is now the general manager for Republic.

WHAT IS YOUR FIVE-WORD MISSION STATEMENT? Positive mindset for mentoring change.

HOW HAS YOUR WORK CHANGED YOUR COMMUNITY? I would like to think my work with the youth and young adults in my communities has inspired them to better their future financial lives. He is currently working as a premier dentist at Heart of Vinings Dentistry and living in Atlanta with his beautiful wife, Heena, and their 2-year-old daughter, Mila. FRIED CHICKEN SANDWICH WITH JALAPEÑO SLAW INGREDIENTS (SANDWICH) 1 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon ground paprika 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder Cayenne pepper, to taste Boneless, skinless chicken breasts Vegetable oil (as needed) Sesame seed bun Pickles

DIRECTIONS 1. Mix the flour, paprika, garlic powder and cayenne pepper together in a shallow bowl.

2. Fill your skillet with oil to about 1-inch deep and heat to 350 degrees.

3. Coat your chicken breasts in the flour and seasoning mixture, then carefully place them into the heated oil.

4. Cook until golden brown with an internal temperature of 165 degrees.

5. Lightly toast your sesame seed bun, then top with pickles, fried chicken breast and slaw to taste.

FOR THE SLAW Combine mayo, hot sauce, garlic and dill pickle juice with shredded red cabbage, pickled onions and candied jalapeños.

CARNE ASADA STREET TACOS WITH AVOCADO RELISH INGREDIENTS (TACOS)

1/2 red onion, coarsely chopped 3 cloves garlic, peeled 2 tablespoons adobo sauce

MARINATE THE STEAK IN THE REFRIGERATOR FOR UP TO 24 HOURS FOR EXTRA FLAVOR.

2 tablespoons olive oil 2 teaspoons cumin 2 teaspoons dried oregano Salt and pepper, to taste Choice of steak Fresh flour or corn tortillas Lime, optional

DIRECTIONS 1. Blend the red onion, garlic, adobo sauce, olive oil and seasoning in a food processor or blender, adding water as needed until smooth.

2. Marinate the steak in the mixture for at least 30 minutes prior to grilling.

3. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a large grill pan and add the steak, cooking to desired doneness. Let rest in a foil tent for 10 minutes then chop into small pieces and assemble tacos as desired.

FOR THE RELISH Chop and combine avocado, fresh jalapeĂąo, cilantro, onion, lime juice and salt to taste. Top with queso fresco and pepitas as desired.

I had the best experience from beginning to end. F irst, I called the screening nu mber. It was so easy. I answered a few questions then made an appointment for my colonoscopy. The staff was very professional and efficient. The day of my colonoscopy, as soon as I filled out my paperwork the staff was ready to proceed with the colonoscopy.

I remember relaxing as the anesthesia took affect then minutes later waking up with no pain or any discomfort. I think the “thought” of having a colonoscopy was scary. Well, it wasn’t scary at all. I never realized how beautiful a pink colon could be. Now I have peace of mind.
