SeptemberThe Style Issue September is known as the fashion and style issue in the magazine world, and we are thrilled to participate in the trend. Not only are we bringing you fashion that will help keep you on top of the latest styles, but we are also sharing stylish interior spaces and vehicles. Styles are ever changing, and the fashion world continuously brings us a fresh new take on something from generations past or shares an entirely new concept for us to enjoy. Each decade has its own unique trends, and although some cycle back decades later, the originality of each look that is reflected oftentimes is connected to the culture and music of the day.  I walked into Pink Creek, one of the boutiques we featured, and was sur prised to see bell bottoms with flowers painted on them. It brought back a memory from my young teens. My favorite pants were hip huggers with wide bell bottoms and embroidered flowers all over them. I either wore them too many times or my mother thought it was time for them to go because I came home one day and found out they had been burned in the trash bin. For my next phase, I found hip hugger bell bottoms with pin stripes. Needless to say, fashion is not my forte.    Fashion choices can reveal a little bit of our personality, so it is a great way to express ourselves. So bring on fall in your own best style, and we will see you around town.

Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art will cast a fresh eye on two centuries of innovative and distinctly American fashion this fall in the museum’s first exhibi tion dedicated to fashion — Fashioning America: Grit to Glamour. Based in Bentonville, Ark., the exhibition explores and celebrates the nation’s diverse fashion heritage and spirit of invention.

“American fashion reflects the complex ity of America writ large, weaving together stories of innovation, immigration, inde pendence, self-invention, and creativity. The sweeping story of American fashion encom passes designers from all walks of life — from the rural to the urban, from the regional to the global — who embody history past and present and represent issues related to inclu sion and exclusion,” says the exhibition’s curator, Michelle Tolini Finamore.

The newly created CFDA x Crystal Bridges Heartland Scholars Award — through a gift at the direction of Olivia Walton — will foster design talent in students based, studying, or raised in the American Heartland (Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Texas). After a divorce has been filed, there can be a lot of loose ends for the parties in terms of how to deal with items like pay ment of bills, child custody, and support issues, etc. This can be problemat ic in many respects because right after a divorce has been filed, there are not normally any orders in place through the court. Without any orders in place, many are not sure what they should do and what they shouldn’t do. In many cases, the parties will ultimately end up in court on a pedente lite or temporary motion (or something called similar in various jurisdic tions). In these motions, the parties ask the court to enter an order as to payment of bills, child custody, and support issues, etc., while the case is pending.Oftentimes, the parties may not agree on these items and a judge will have to decide. In other cases, the parties may be able to agree. But before a pedente lite or temporary motion being heard, judges ordinarily are looking for the maintenance of the sta tus quo. The laws can certain ly vary by state. Individuals should clearly get the advice of an attorney licensed and com petent to practice law in their jurisdiction for specific advice. But as a general rule, maintenance of the status quo pending further order of the court is what lots of judges are hoping for from the parties. That means that the parties are generally expected to pay bills and obligations in the same manner as before the divorce. Parties are also expected to give each other access to the children. Money and assets are generally not to be moved, transferred, encumbered, or concealed.Stange Law Firm, PC limits their practice to family law matters including divorce, child custody, child support, paternity, guardianship, adop tion, mediation, collaborative law and other domestic relation matters.Stange Law Firm, PC gives clients 24/7 access to their case through a secured online case tracker found on the website. 1952 Ford Customline coupe 26

Rick Claybaugh, his wife Marisa, and daughter Kim Taylor know how to style up their transportation. All are mem bers of the Early Ford V8 Club of Tulsa. As with all classy, classic cars, they have a story and names. Rick purchased his red 1934 Ford Fordor out of state in 2008. Drivable, but a work in progress, Rick completed most of the restoration himself, returning it to the way it rolled off the assembly line in ‘34. He’s driven it to numerous Early Ford V8 Club of America events winning multiple awards. He also owns a gray 1939 Ford Deluxe coupe, which he bought in pieces, requiring four trucks and a trailer to get it home. With hard work and dedication over several years by Rick, his family, and friends, this stylish beauty was put back together from the ground up. It’s now a family car restored to the way it came off the assembly line.

The newest addition to their family collection is Lily Mae, Marisa’s red, 1951 Custom convertible, a surprise purchased from another club member in April 2021. Most recently the stunning ‘51 traveled to the Early Ford V-8 Club of America national meet in Franklin, TN, earning one of the highest awards bestowed by the club for its beautiful restoration. This car is featured in the front row of the large portrait banner in Stokley Event Center.
