MOMMY & ME: CELEBRATING THE MICRO GLIMMERS OF MOTHERHOOD

Happy May!

This month, we’re thrilled to celebrate the women who inspire, create, and lead in our community with our Ladies Issue—one of my absolute favorites!

We begin with a breathtaking wedding shoot at The New Inn , set against the stunning backdrop of Temecula wine country. Photographer Ada Rey beautifully captures the magic of love and commitment, reminding us of the beauty found in every new beginning. As we honor Asian American Heritage Month, we also celebrate the rich cultural influences that shape Temecula’s vibrant foodie scene.

Next, we visit Our Matcha Place in Old Town Temecula, where founder Courtney Ziani has mastered the art of matcha, bringing a fresh, modern twist to this time-honored tradition.

We also embrace the heart of motherhood with a Mommy & Me shoot, capturing the unbreakable bonds between mothers and their children. These cherished moments are a beautiful reminder of the love and connection that shape our lives.

For those seeking a little more serenity in their daily routine, we share expert tips on how to create a spa-like sanctuary at home—because self-care is essential for every woman.

On the business front, we highlight Agape Auto Repair, where owner Jamica Brazell, is making a difference in an industry often overlooked by women. Her passion for service and dedication to her customers keep both cars—and our community—running smoothly.

As you flip through these pages, I hope you find inspiration in the stories of these incredible women. They’re innovators, entrepreneurs, creatives, and caretakers—each making a lasting impact in their own way. Whether they’re leading from the front or working quietly behind the scenes, let’s take a moment to celebrate the women who inspire, uplift, and shape our world.

With love, XOXO,

May 2025

ADA'S FAVORITE LOCAL ASIAN EATS
“Even if you don’t speak the same language, a great meal brings people together.”

Food is more than sustenance—it’s memory, culture, and connection. For Ada, a photographer and self-proclaimed foodie, finding great Asian cuisine in the Inland Empire is a mission she takes seriously. In honor of Asian American Heritage Month, she shares her go-to spots for flavors that remind her of home.

JJ SUSHI & CHINESE CUISINE

Ada’s first stop? JJ Sushi & Chinese Cuisine in Menifee. “It’s my go-to for date nights, girls’ nights—any time I need that nostalgic taste,” she says. Familyowned and serving up both sushi and classic Chinese comfort dishes, this spot is a local gem.

Her favorites? The seaweed salad, hot and sour soup, Li King roll, and Trumpy roll for sushi cravings. When in the mood for Chinese, she loves the Kung Pao chicken (“so Americanized, but so good!”) or the beef with broccoli for a fresh option.

DADA SUSHI

Next, Ada heads to Dada Sushi, a beloved Japanese spot that’s become a family staple.

"They don’t even ask where to eat—it’s always Dada," she laughs. Her husband and his uncle have been regulars for years, and for good reason.

While the sushi is great, the ramen broth steals the show. “It’s freaking delicious,” she raves. For classic comfort, she recommends the chicken katsu or udon noodles.

TASTY POT

Ada’s final stop? Tasty Pot, a Taiwanese hot pot haven she’s been dying to try. “Half of eating is looking at the food, and I know it’s going to be amazing,” she says. Unlike Japanese shabu shabu, Taiwanese hot pot arrives bubbling, ready to enjoy.

For Ada, food isn’t just a meal—it’s a way to connect, reminisce, and share culture. “Even if you don’t speak the same language, a great meal brings people together.”

As a local travel advisor serving the Temecula community, I have grown to love the world-class wine country right here in our backyard. When I first moved here, I had no idea how many wineries were hidden among these rolling hills. Sitting with a glass of wine, feeling the cool breeze, I was transported—almost as if I had stepped into a vineyard in Europe.

From the moment I discovered Somerset Winery, it quickly became my favorite—especially after learning that they use an Italian winemaking method. That deep-rooted connection to European tradition makes it the perfect inspiration to share something special— Wine River Cruising through Europe.

We all recognize the importance of taking a break—whether it’s a relaxing wine night or an exciting vacation. But beyond unwinding, what we truly crave is connection—quality time, unforgettable experiences, and a touch of adventure. River cruising beautifully blends culture, history, and connection—just like a visit to your favorite winery.

Think about those special moments at a winery: laughing with friends, meeting new people, and savoring each sip. Now, imagine extending those moments while floating along Europe’s scenic rivers, stopping to explore historic vineyards and charming villages. A Wine River Cruise isn’t just about tasting incredible wines—it’s about immersing yourself in the stories behind them, sharing once-in-a-lifetime experiences, and perhaps even discovering a place that feels oddly familiar, like something out of a dream.

And let’s not forget the food! European cuisine carries a warmth that nourishes the soul. Picture this: a rustic loaf of homemade bread, fresh olive oil, and a perfectly paired glass of wine. Simple, yet unforgettable.

So here’s to May—a month of savoring life’s little luxuries, making memories with loved ones, and maybe even planning your next great adventure along the rivers of Europe. Salud!

MATCHAMADE IN TEMECULA

Courtney Ziani set three main goals for her business—creating exceptional customer service, a high-quality product, and a beautiful aesthetic.

It’s clear from the moment you step into Our Matcha Place in Old Town that the third is instantly true—the shop is an influencer’s dream, with gorgeous pink walls accented with lush green details and carefully curated décor. Once you place your order with the warm and knowledgeable baristas and try your drink, you’ll agree that Courtney has successfully delivered on all three goals.

Our Matcha Place opened its doors in April 2022. Since then, this mother-daughter-owned business has steadily gained popularity. Ziani’s daughters, Sofia and Layla, inspired the brand and are featured on its logo.

“I wanted to bring matcha to the community in an exciting way while also raising awareness about its amazing health benefits,” says Courtney, a former teacher and lifelong matcha drinker.

Matcha powder is created by stone-grinding green tea leaves. This vibrant superfood contains over 100 times the antioxidants of regular green tea, supports inflammation reduction, and provides essential nutrients like vitamin C, magnesium, and potassium.

Our Matcha Place prioritizes high-quality ingredients in every handcrafted drink. Their matcha is 100% organic, ceremonial grade, and purity-tested, sourced directly from farms in Japan.

All drinks are handcrafted from scratch— many of which originated as creative experiments by Sofia. The menu has expanded to include a variety of unique options. A fan favorite—and a drink Courtney recommends for new matcha drinkers—is their signature Coconut Vanilla Matcha.

They are also one of the few places in Temecula that offer Hojicha— a roasted green tea with lower caffeine content—so customers can still enjoy the benefits of matcha without the buzz.

"Our focus is on health and wellness," says Courtney, adding that the menu highlights the benefits of all drinks and wellness-enhancing add-ons like collagen. (Tip: Order your drink "Goddess Style" for an infusion of colostrum, vitamin D, and collagen!)

For those who fall in love with matcha, Courtney launched a VIP Membership, inspired by the wine clubs found at local wineries. Members enjoy four complimentary drinks per month, 15% off drinks and merchandise, and exclusive access to the VIP lounge.

Our Matcha Place is the perfect spot to meet up with friends for a feel-good drink— or take advantage of their curbside delivery option for matcha on the go!

Friends, matcha, and the perfect pink backdrop. Tag your matcha bestie and plan your next visit!
Sip, smile, repeat. Step inside Our Matcha Place and discover your new favorite wellness ritual!

ASSEMBLING THE DREAMIEST WEDDING AT THE NEW INN

ARTICLE BY AVA SARNOWSKI | PHOTOGRAPHY BY ADA REY
Jimmie and Kaitlyn Sherfy posing in front of The New Inn.

Some love stories unfold in the most unexpected ways. For Kaitlyn and Jimmie, their wedding journey was anything but traditional. The pandemic robbed the couple of a traditional wedding. But through the collaboration of various business owners, Kaitlyn and Jimmie were able to have their wedding photos taken at The New Inn .

Dean Arendon, Operations Manager of the curated boutique hotel, reflects on its foundation. Created by Alicia Marshall, The New Inn has welcomed more than 6,500 guests, offering a luxury escape in the heart of Temecula wine country. The five meticulously designed villas provide an unparalleled vineyard experience, complete with in-room couples’ massages and al fresco dining under the stars.

"The New Inn was built with the heart of this community woven into every detail. It’s more than a destination—it’s a place where unforgettable memories are made," Arendon shares.

Capturing the essence of the day was photographer Ada Rey, whose passion for weddings goes beyond the lens.

"I’m a girly girl, and I believe every bride should feel like a princess. I love everything about a wedding—the bouquet, the veil, the shoes, the movement of the dress as she dances. If I wasn’t a photographer, I’d be a dress designer because I just adore wedding gowns,” Ada shares.

Ada takes a thoughtful approach to location and lighting, ensuring each shot enhances the couple’s beauty.

"I always scout my locations ahead of time. Where a bride gets ready might not have the best light, so I make sure every setting works to their advantage. I want them to look radiant without sweating through their tux or makeup, especially in warmer seasons,” she explains.

While trends come and go, Ada believes in the power of timeless photography.

"Candid moments and film aesthetics are trending for 2024 and 2025, but in 10 years, couples want to look back at their photos and still love them. That’s why I avoid over-filtering or trendy edits—what I capture is what’s truly there. Classic and sophisticated will always be in style,” she says.

At the helm of a beautiful wedding is the perfect wedding planner. Serena Saints,

One of two beautifully-crafted rings provided by La Masters of Fine Jewelry.
The "Show Me the Love" heart-shaped charcuterie board, paired with a bottle of Lavish champagne, provided by Grazing Theory.

owner and lead planner of Serenity Bloom, a wedding design company renowned for bringing dream weddings to life has two decades of experience in project management and a deep understanding of people and cultures. Saints and her team design every event with precision and heart.

“I made sure every vendor was aligned on the vision—color palettes, ambiance, the emotions we wanted to evoke. Collaboration was key. When every detail, from florals to table settings, is intentional, it elevates the entire experience,” Saints explains. The couple’s wedding bands came from La Masters of Fine Jewelry, floral arrangements from Xquisite Floral, and the elegant lounge furniture was provided by Be Blissful Event Rentals.

Jennifer Thompson has been working within the makeup and hair industry for six years, specializing in bridal. As the stylist behind the bride’s timeless and elegant look for this photoshoot, she showcases the bride’s natural beauty with an updo similar to Sofia Richie or Hayley Bieber’s for their own weddings.

“And for the groom, partnering with Friar Tux ensures a look that’s both timeless and effortlessly comfortable.”

Satin remains the season’s most coveted bridal trend, and with its delicate ruching and off-theshoulder sleeves, this gown captures everything brides are loving right now.

"More than anything, I believe in wearing what makes you feel incredible. Your wedding day is about celebrating your love, your style—so own it and rock it!" Mayer adds.

As the day unfolded, Grazing Theory kept the couple fueled with their signature single-serve charcuterie cones—perfect for a convenient yet delicious bite during the shoot. Their “Show Me the Love” heart-shaped charcuterie board added a romantic touch to the bridal suite, enhancing the wedding experience with beautifully curated flavors.

“While trends come and go, Ada believes in the power of timeless photography.”

"I want every bride to look in the mirror and see herself—just the most radiant version she’s ever been," Thompson shares. To ensure a flawless, all-day look, she preps with high-end products, sets the style with finishing sprays, and provides a touch-up kit, including the bride’s lip color, beauty blender, and puff.

For the couple’s attire, Blushing Bride Bridal Boutique curated a look that exuded timeless sophistication. Founder Nicole Mayer has spent the past two and a half years building a bridal space filled with warmth, light, and joy—where every bride can feel confident and beautiful.

"I was inspired by the classic elegance of bridal fashion but wanted a modern touch. The gown we selected—a satin, ruched fit-and-flare—perfectly blends cool and classic," Mayer explains.

As the founder of the award-winning charcuterie business, Gina LaMora crafts experiences that spark joy and conversation. Having grown up in South Africa alongside twenty-four cousins, she explains how food was always at the heart of their gatherings. She sources from local artisans, and partners with small-batch cheesemakers, bakers, and farmers to bring the freshest, highest-quality ingredients to every grazing table. Her ambitions lie in dazzling guests with unforgettable flavors from arranged spreads to curated pairings.

"A wedding should be as memorable for its flavors as it is for its design. Elegant, functional food displays ensure guests are delighted while keeping the event’s flow seamless,” LaMora says.

Through thoughtful collaboration, artistry, and passion, this styled shoot wasn’t just about capturing wedding photos—it was about creating an experience that embodies love, elegance, and the beauty of community.

Mommy & Me: Celebrating the Micro Glimmers of Motherhood

Cherished Moments, Lessons, and Love in Every Form

Tiny smiles. Sleepy snuggles. Secret giggles.

These are the fleeting, heart-stealing moments of motherhood— blink-and-you’ll-miss-it glimpses of pure magic.

But motherhood isn’t just about parenting. It’s found in the bonds we nurture, the love we give, and the ways we pour into our children, passions, and communities. Here, a few local women share their reflections on what motherhood means to them.

What is one of your favorite motherhood moments?

Shawna W

"The first time my son smiled at me will forever be etched in my memory."

Seana D

"Our everyday routines—morning snuggles, nighttime prayers, even trips to the mailbox that take forever because we stop for every rock and bug. She’s taught me to slow down and treasure the small moments."

What are some lessons you’ve learned over the years on motherhood and parenting?

Nicole V

"Have patience. Embrace the mess. Think before reacting. Always kiss the boo-boos, say ‘I love you’ often, be silly, and have fun!"

Chelsey J

"Every child is unique—go with the flow and soak in the little moments."

What are some special traditions you have with your child/children?

Robyn Z

"Dinner together, sharing the highs and lows of our day. Tucking them in with a prayer, song, or book, reminding them how much they’re loved."

Chelsey J

"Every night, Nyxen says, ‘Good night, you’re the best.’ And we say it back. I know I’ll miss that one day."

For some, motherhood looks different—a devotion measured not in first steps, but in love freely given.

Ada S

"When I see friends celebrating baby showers or pregnancy announcements, there's a moment of reflection. It's not sadness, just the realization that I may never experience that chapter, but instead of focusing on what I don’t have, I embrace the life I’ve built."

"One lesson I have learned from being a first-time mom is that I will never have it all figured out, and that's OK! Kids are constantly learning and growing, so join them in the learning process rather than getting hung up on what you read online or are told by the experts."

Feel stronger, live longer, and enjoy more time with the people you love.

POLESTAR 3

REDEFINING LUXURY ELECTRIC SUVS WITH SCANDINAVIAN INNOVATION

In the ever-evolving world of electric vehicles, the Polestar 3 emerges as a benchmark in performance, design, and sustainability. As the first SUV from Polestar—Volvo’s electrified offshoot—this luxury electric vehicle seamlessly blends Scandinavian elegance with cutting-edge technology, redefining what a highend EV can be.

STRIKING DESIGN MEETS SUSTAINABLE LUXURY

At first glance, the Polestar 3 captivates with its clean, minimalist lines and aerodynamic silhouette. Inspired by Polestar’s concept vehicles, its sloping roofline and sculpted contours are more than just aesthetic choices—they enhance efficiency by optimizing airflow. The integration of functional elements, such as front and rear aerodynamic wings, reduces drag and improves range, demonstrating Polestar’s meticulous attention to both form and function.

Inside, the Polestar 3 is a masterclass in sustainable luxury. The cabin features eco-friendly materials, including carpets made from recycled fishing nets and seats upholstered in responsibly sourced alternatives to traditional leather. This commitment to sustainability does not come at the expense of refinement—every element of the interior feels premium, from the soft-touch surfaces to the minimalist dashboard dominated by a large, intuitive touchscreen.

PERFORMANCE AND DRIVING EXPERIENCE

Beneath its sleek exterior, the Polestar 3 houses a dual-motor setup, delivering up to 517 horsepower with the optional Performance Pack. This powertrain propels the SUV from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds, making it one of the quickest in its class. Despite its size, the vehicle remains agile, with precise steering and a low center of gravity, thanks to its well-balanced battery placement.

A key highlight of the Polestar 3 is its adaptive air suspension system, which provides a smooth, composed ride by automatically adjusting to road conditions. Whether cruising on the highway or navigating winding roads, this SUV delivers a dynamic and confident driving experience. Additionally, its regenerative braking system enhances efficiency while offering a more engaging feel behind the wheel.

Polestar 3 redefines luxury EVs with Scandinavian design, cutting-edge tech, and exhilarating performance.

CUTTING-EDGE TECHNOLOGY AND SAFETY FEATURES

Polestar has integrated an array of innovative technologies to elevate the driving experience. The infotainment system, powered by Android Automotive OS, now supports Apple CarPlay, offering seamless connectivity. A large, high-resolution touchscreen provides intuitive access to navigation, media, and vehicle controls.

Safety remains a priority, with advanced driver-assistance systems such as:

• Adaptive cruise control for effortless highway driving.

• Lane-keeping assist to enhance stability on the road.

• 360-degree cameras for easier parking and maneuvering.

A standout feature is the SunLike LED interior lighting, designed to mimic natural daylight, reducing eye strain and enhancing overall cabin comfort. These subtle yet impactful details reinforce the Polestar 3’s focus on well-being and innovation.

SUSTAINABILITY AT ITS CORE

Polestar’s commitment to sustainability is evident in every aspect of the Polestar 3. The use of recycled materials throughout the cabin not only reduces environmental impact but also sets a new standard for eco-conscious luxury. The SUV’s fully electric powertrain contributes to lowering carbon emissions, aligning with global efforts toward a more sustainable automotive future.

Polestar is also transparent about the vehicle’s environmental footprint. The company releases life cycle assessments (LCAs) detailing the carbon emissions associated with manufacturing and ownership, reinforcing its dedication to reducing its ecological impact.

LUXURY ELECTRIC PERFORMANCE IN TEMECULA

For those seeking high-performance luxury with an electric twist, the Polestar 3 presents an enticing choice. Its Scandinavian design and advanced engineering make it a compelling alternative to traditional gas-powered performance vehicles.

Luxury car enthusiasts in Temecula will appreciate how the Polestar 3 stands alongside other elite offerings in the high-performance segment. As Mercedes-Benz of Temecula’s General Manager, Antony Chandler, recently noted about the AMG S63 E Performance, true performance vehicles blend power, craftsmanship, and cutting-edge technology. The Polestar 3 follows suit in the EV space, delivering a dynamic driving experience while remaining environmentally conscious.

CONCLUSION: THE FUTURE OF LUXURY EVS

The Polestar 3 is more than just an electric SUV—it’s a statement of what modern luxury should be. By harmonizing Scandinavian design, high-performance engineering, and sustainability, it positions itself as a formidable contender in the growing luxury EV market.

For drivers who seek an eco-friendly vehicle that doesn’t compromise on style, innovation, or driving pleasure, the Polestar 3 is available for exploration and test drives.

AT KAT’S RANCH, You’re Family

Tenaja is a tranquil community nestled in the neighboring city of Murrieta and here you will find Kat’s Ranch where equestrian culture is alive and well. Meet the woman-owned pioneer herself, Kathleen Elliott, trailblazing the sport of dressage for future generations in the valley.

The 40-acre ranch boards over thirty-five horses and includes a dressage court, working arena, green pastures, and access to flatter trails providing horse enthusiasts an escape from bustling city life.

Kat grew up in Wildomar where she fostered her love of horses.  At nine years old, her father gifted her an unbroke pony.  With patience and determination, she would eventually saddle that pony giving her the confidence to continue working and training horses and riders.

With over 20 years as an equine professional trainer, Kathleen is a certified ARIA riding instructor, multi-world champion, and small r judge for the Western Dressage Association.  She prides herself on providing quality training and clinics for her clients and their horses. Offering disciplines such as English, Traditional, and Western Dressage.

“I went to Canada before Western was even in California,” Kathleen said. “I was the first certified instructor in Western Dressage. It opened the doors for a lot of my clients.”

Kathleen Elliott: A Pioneer in California for Western

Dressage

Adding to her services is working equitation, one of the fastest-growing sports, which includes obstacles and dressage that complement one another.

“Dressage is so precise, but working equitation is built upon it, so it blends seamlessly into our program,” Kat explains. “Our students are national champions in that discipline.”

Kathleen’s clients range from five to seventy-five years old. Knowing her horse’s temperaments and the client’s personality is essential when pairing the two together.

A behind-the-scenes look at Kat’s Ranch reveals the dedication required to maintain such an operation. Kathleen oversees every detail, from horse care and vaccinations to trailer maintenance and competition schedules. Rain or shine, the horses are always tended to with the utmost care.

Therapeutic horse-riding lessons are offered to riders who may benefit from equine-assisted therapy to support various physical, mental, and emotional challenges.

Balancing ranch life with family has evolved for Kathleen. With the help of a dedicated team, she can now travel for shows and clinics, sharing her expertise nationwide.

Last September Kat competed at the premier Western Dressage Association of America World Championship show in Guthrie, Oklahoma where she and her beloved American Quarter Horse LW Champagne Ice were triumphant in taking the Level 4 and 5 Championship.

Whether guiding a rider along a scenic trail or preparing a competitor for national success, Kathleen tailors training to each individual’s goals.

“As long as they’re enjoying themselves, I can adjust my client's training,” Kathleen said.

When asked what she hopes her legacy will be, “I want to be known as a good horsewoman, helping horses and riders.”

Kathleen Elliott has demonstrated throughout her career to be a trailblazer and truly embraces the equestrian lifestyle. At Kat’s Ranch, you’re family.

Creating Spa-Like Serenity at Home

TIPS TO TRANSFORM YOUR HOME INTO AN OASIS OF TRANQUILITY

Wherever we are, the world is there too - through our phones, tablets, and the non-stop nature of our day-to-day lives. That’s why it’s essential to create a space that is truly yours— one that offers relaxation while elevating your mental, physical, and spiritual well-being. From the restorative power of water to calming colors and scents, there are many ways to thoughtfully transform areas of your home into a spa-like oasis. Here are some ideas to achieve the ultimate home retreat.

Crafting a spa-inspired bathroom: What better place to start a sanctuary than in a space designed to promote cleansing and refreshing?

Begin by combining elegant aesthetics with the restorative power of nature. Opt for ocean-inspired hues for your towels and decor—soft blues, warm sandy tones, and sea greens— that evoke a sense of water-inspired serenity.  Incorporate natural stone, teak, or marble for luxurious yet natural texture.

Enhance your sanctuary by investing in upgrades. Heated floors, a soaking tub, or a rainfall shower with steam options may be the centerpiece your bathroom needs to create a therapeutic retreat and encourage a ritual to begin and end your day.

Bring it all together by engaging the senses— soothe your eyes with a spa-like glow from warm-tone bulbs, experience the comforting touch of rolled, warm towels, breathe in relaxing scents from essential oils, or have a small indoor fountain to evoke the sounds of nature reminiscent of your favorite outdoor retreat.

Creating an outdoor escape: Speaking of the outdoors, extending your oasis from the inside out can be a great way to help you unwind and make the most of every area of your home— your personal escape into nature.

It all starts with your surroundings, combining visual beauty with calming scents. Think lush gardens filled with jasmine or lavender to welcome you into natural extension of your home, framing cozy seating areas with plush cushions and string lights. For a seamless indoor/outdoor flow, use the same materials and colors as those in your other relaxing spaces in the house: nature-inspired hues and inviting, plush fabrics.

For the ultimate indulgence, consider a plunge pool or a soaking tub as part of your outdoor oasis. A custom design could even incorporate lighting for color therapy, waterfalls, or underwater speakers with your favorite playlists— all in a setting that mirrors an outdoor spa of your own creation.

Cultivating a tranquil bedroom retreat: At the end of the day, sleep is essential to our well-being, and your bedroom should be a sanctuary that encourages rest, rejuvenation, and peace.

Use high-quality, cozy materials in earthy, neutral tones, such as luxe sheets and cashmere throws. Once the scheme is set, illuminate your space with layers of soft, diffused lighting— like bedside sconces or an overhead light with a dimmer to gently guide you from day to night.

For the final touches, infuse your bedroom with relaxing scents to promote calm and deep, restorative sleep. From a bedside diffuser to candles to lightly misting your pillows with a delicate essential oil, subtle scents can evoke spa-like tranquility and make falling asleep a dream.

Bringing spa-like serenity into your home goes beyond decor— it’s about creating rituals that encourage your well-being. With thoughtful design and personal touches, you can create an escape from the outside world that is truly your own.

“Curating a spa-like atmosphere isn't only about aesthetics— it's about making your home a purposeful, peaceful sanctuary, one  that restores, rejuvenates, and enhances your well-being from the inside out.”
