move feel less like a transaction, and more like a transition into something truly extraordinary.

There are certain people whose impact is so deeply woven into the fabric of our lives that we can't always see it until we step back and look at the full picture. Fathers are often that way - quietly steady, always present-shaping our world not with grand gestures, but with everyday moments that leave lasting marks.

Whether it's a father by birth or by choice, the presence of a strong, compassionate man can shape a child's sense of security, self-worth, and identity. It’s how he coaches the team or cheers from the sidelines. The way he teaches us to drive a car, or fix what's broken. When he stands beside us during life's hardest seasons, or life's happiest. It's the feeling of safety and protection, or in the words he doesn't say - that quiet nod of approval and reassurance.
In this issue, we are celebrating these men - highlighting the stories of fathers who've built a legacy through their families, their businesses, and their communities. Watching legacy take root - seeing a father's dream not only realized, but carried forward to the next generation is monumental. This issue is a tribute to those men who inspire, lead, and build. May it inspire all of us to reflect on what we're building, and who we're building it for.
For some, Father's Day brings a lot of mixed emotions - those missing a father, those becoming one for the first time, those healing from wounds or rebuilding connections. Fatherhood is never uniform, but its impact, when grounded in intentionality and love, is always profound.
To all the other fathers, father figures, mentors and men who lead with integrity and care - thank you! The work you're doing matters, and we hope you know how much you're loved and appreciated.

Meet the Real Crystal Dickerson and Wendy Bremer
ARTICLE BY TERESA COY

Last month in our “Ladies Issue,” we made the unfortunate error of misidentifying Crystal Dickerson and Wendy Bremer from the Tayna Mock real estate team in the article “Style and Grace: The New Frontier of Luxury Real Estate.”
While we pride ourselves on accuracy and attention to detail, we also recognize that we are human, and humans make mistakes. While we have apologized to both of them personally, we wanted to apologize publicly as well, and make sure you all know the beautiful faces behind the names. Please see above for accurate identifications of both Wendy and Crystal and know we will do everything in our power to make sure this does not happen again.
Thank you for your support and understanding. We are grateful you are here!

ARTICLE BY MADELYNE WOODS

In the winding, evergreen-lined streets of Snohomish, where the morning mist clings to the historic Victorians and the sound of the Pilchuck River hums in the distance, real estate is more than just a market—it’s a community of stories. And if you happen to be looking for a home in this corner of
the Pacific Northwest, you’ll likely cross paths with Eli Asberry. But fair warning: a meeting with Eli isn’t just a business transaction. It’s a conversation that might start with square footage and end with a deep, soul-stirring reflection on purpose, family, and the divine timing of our lives.
A NEW DIRECTION GUIDED BY FAITH
Eli’s journey to becoming one of Snohomish’s most trusted realtors wasn’t a straight line; it was a leap of faith. For years, he navigated the highstakes, precision-driven world of aerospace engineering and tech management. He was successful, comfortable, and respected. Yet, a quiet stir in his spirit kept nudging him toward a different way to serve. “I was talking with a friend about my dream of owning a business—having that complete freedom to be exactly who I am,” Eli shares with a warm, easy smile. That conversation was the seed. He realized that the skills he honed in aerospace—managing complex personalities, solving intricate problems, and building logistical bridges—were the exact ingredients needed to be a great realtor. For now, he’s balancing his corporate career of engineering and tech hubs, with a weekend career selling front porches in Snohomish. But as any entrepreneur will
“KIDS ARE EVERYTHING. YOU CAN’T PUT A CAREER OR BRAVADO ABOVE FAMILY.”

tell you, the beginning is often a test of resolve. Eli’s first year as a realtor was slow. In those quiet months, he didn’t lean on panic; he leaned on prayer. He knew that if this was the path God had set, the “exact time and place” (a nod to his favorite scripture, Acts 17:26) would eventually reveal itself.
The breakthrough didn’t happen in a boardroom; it happened at a community event Eli was emceeing for his best friend, Snohomish Mayor Aaron Hoffman. True to his nature, Eli opened the evening with a moving prayer that quieted the room and centered the crowd. In the audience that day was Tanya Mock. Known for her sharp eye for talent and her powerhouse real estate team, Tanya didn’t just hear a prayer—she saw a leader. The two struck up a conversation, and before the event was over, Tanya had invited Eli to join her team. Today, Eli is the sole male presence on the Tanya Mock Real Estate team, a position he holds with equal parts humor and humility. “I love being welcomed into a group of such bold, brilliant, and successful women,” he laughs. While the women on the team bring a fierce, creative energy and market dominance, Eli sees his role as the “anchor.” He views his primary contribution as keeping the team grounded in faith, ensuring that amidst the hustle of multi-million dollar deals, the spirit of the work remains centered on service.
For Eli, a “sold” sign is a blessing, but the prayer shared in the kitchen before the listing goes live is the true success. He doesn’t see a divide between his work and his walk with Jesus. “Real estate gives me the freedom to bring faith into the workplace. I get to pray over homes and pray over the families moving into them.” This mission has recently manifested in his “Upper Room” initiative. Once a month, Eli opens a space for business owners, homeowners, and believers to gather simply to pray. Whether you’re a CEO struggling with a decision or a first-time

buyer overwhelmed by the market, Eli’s door is open. “If you need prayer for your business or yourself, let’s pray together,” he says. It’s a simple, radical approach to business that puts people before profits.
At the center of Eli’s world is his wife, Chanel. He describes her with a reverence that is palpable. “Raising our family and building a business with Chanel is the dream,” he says. Chanel is a gifted interior designer with a genius for spatial planning. The two aspire to work shoulder-to-shoulder, blending Eli’s market expertise with her design eye. For now, Chanel is dedicated to homeschooling their children, ensuring they grow up with a foundation that no school could provide: a deep, personal knowledge of God. “Kids are everything,” Eli says firmly. “You can’t put a career or bravado above family. For me, the definition of being a man isn’t about money-making; it’s about who you surrender to. And for me, that’s Jesus.” Eli believes the unique spirits of his children

are a daily reflection of God’s creativity. He speaks of his eldest daughter, Naomi, with immense pride, noting a strength of character that mirrors his own mother’s Eastern European resilience. Norah brings a lighthearted joy to the home; she is the generous, kind, and “goofy” soul who keeps the family laughing. Then there is Nehemiah, whose personality perfectly balances a gentle, caring nature with a quiet, steady strength. By prioritizing their homeschooling and spiritual growth, Eli says he and Chanel are ensuring

“REAL ESTATE GIVES ME THE FREEDOM TO BRING FAITH INTO THE WORKPLACE. I GET TO PRAY OVER HOMES AND PRAY OVER THE FAMILIES MOVING INTO THEM.”
their children understand that true manhood and womanhood aren’t about worldly success, but about following God’s path. It’s this legacy of strength and faith that he carries into every showing and every negotiation.
SEEKING THE TRUTH IN SNOHOMISH
When he isn’t scouting properties or hosting prayer meetings, you’ll likely find Eli at Pursuit Church, continuing his quest for truth and community. He wants the people of Snohomish to
know that they aren’t just buying a house; they’re finding the place where God intended them to live. In a world that often feels hurried and transactional, Eli is a reminder that business can be a blessing. He’s a man who recognizes that while he may hold the keys to the house, he serves the One who holds the keys to the kingdom. If you see him around town—perhaps grabbing a coffee or chatting with Mayor Hoffman—stop and say hello. You’ll walk away feeling a little lighter, a little more hopeful, and perhaps, if you’re lucky, you’ll have found a new friend to pray with.
This fresh, medium-heat salsa has a sneaky spiciness and robust flavor. Serve with restaurant-style tortilla chips, over gameday nachos, or make a savory pan of unbelievable chilaquiles. This is a versatile salsa you’ll be making on repeat from here on out.
Makes 4 cups
INGREDIENTS
• 4 large ripe tomatoes
• 6 tomatillos, husks removed and rinsed
• 1 tablespoon avocado oil (or other neutral oil)
• 1 large yellow onion, cut into large chunks
• 4–6 jalapeños, stems removed (seeded for less heat, if desired)
• 2–6 chiles de árbol or dried New Mexico chiles (adjust to taste)
• 6 large garlic cloves, halved
• 1 tablespoon ground cumin
• 1 teaspoon ground coriander
• Juice of 1 small lime
• Kosher salt, to taste
• Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
• ½–¾ cup water, as needed
1. Fill a large pot about ¾ full with water and bring to a gentle boil.
2. Add the whole tomatoes and tomatillos and simmer until softened, about 10 minutes.
3. While they cook, prepare the remaining ingredients (cut the onion into large chunks, remove stems from the peppers, halve the garlic cloves; using a slotted spoon, transfer the softened tomatoes and tomatillos to a blender.)

4. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the avocado oil. Add the onion and peppers, sautéing until lightly charred and softened, about 5–7 minutes.
5. Add the garlic and cook for another 2–3 minutes, just until fragrant and lightly golden (avoid burning.)
6. Transfer the charred vegetables to the blender with the tomatoes and tomatillos.
7. Add cumin, coriander, and ½ teaspoon each of salt and pepper.
8. Blend until smooth, adding water a tablespoon at a time until your desired consistency is reached.
9. Taste and adjust with additional salt, pepper, and fresh lime juice.
10. Allow the salsa to cool before transferring to clean glass jars.
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw in the refrigerator and stir before serving.

Now colleagues through Legacy Wealth Partners, Jeff Anderson and Scott Kelly trace their friendship back to serving alongside one another for years through Scouting America. The men served as Den Dads together and combined watched three sons go on to earn the rank of Eagle Scout. They also served together through a program that Scott brought to local elementary schools called Watch D.O.G.S., which encouraged local dads to be more active in their kids’ schools.
Through their time volunteering and taking an active role in Scouts, the men realized that many of the skills the kids learn are applicable in everyday life, especially in the business world. “A few of the enduring principles of Scouts are to do the right thing daily, be trustworthy and honest, and have the integrity to do what you say you will do,” shares Jeff. “Another big part of Scouting revolves around relationships. The same principles are true in our business; I’ve known a lot of my clients for 20-25 years and have built a relationship based on trust, honesty, and integrity.”
For Jeff and Scott, their roles as financial advisors are intricately intertwined with their personal commitments. “At Legacy Wealth Partners, we truly believe that values matter, and we live by ours every day. We also emphasize transparency, ethical practices, and reliability in all client relationships,” says Scott. “For me, those same values are what drive my community involvement, whether that’s mentoring youth through Scouting America, serving families and kids through Watch D.O.G.S., or supporting youth-focused service projects through Kiwanis. We try to show up in the spaces where leadership, consistency, and presence matter most.”

Three primary services Jeff and Scott provide for clients include management of money, advice based on years of experience, and creating individualized financial plans. They streamline the concepts by using the acronym M.A.P. “First, we manage money through portfolio management, primarily using individual stocks and bonds, not mutual funds. We like to know what we own; it gives us clarity,” says Jeff. “Second, we provide expert advice. As clients are going through life, they are often confronted with financial decisions, and we want our clients to make the best decisions. Although it may seem like each individual decision may not matter all that much, cumulatively they play a large role in success. Third, financial planning is imperative because it gives clients perspective on where they are at and where they are going. It also helps us to understand what they are trying to accomplish with their wealth.”
As they work with clients to reach financial goals, Jeff and Scott do so with a strong sense of integrity and stewardship on behalf of their clients. “As we’re talking to clients and helping them with different questions and dilemmas, we often ask ourselves what we would do if we were in their situation,” says Jeff. “Then, we apply our experience and knowledge in the financial world to make informed decisions.”
The concept of stewardship is paramount in their roles as financial advisors and reflects why Jeff and Scott continue to pour into the local community as well. “The advisory work strengthens my service, and the service reinforces the purpose behind the advisory work. They’re two expressions of the same calling,” shares Scott. “Whether I’m helping Scouts build confidence on the trail, greeting students at the school doors as a Watch D.O.G., or partnering with families on long-term financial planning, it all stems from that same desire to serve with purpose. It is amazing the impact father figures, mentors, and male role models can have, especially when they choose to be present, available, and encouraging. That message resonates deeply with me.”

Blu Dental Wellness Answer the Most Commonly Asked Dental Questions

1. Many people avoid the dentist until something hurts. What are the biggest early warning signs of dental issues people tend to ignore?
The biggest warning signs that people ignore are inflamed gums, bleeding when brushing, and persistent bad breath. All can be signs of gum disease.
2. How is modern dentistry different from what people experienced growing up?
Modern dentistry is dramatically more comfortable, precise, and efficient than what most people experienced growing up. Advances in technology allow dentists to detect problems earlier, use natural looking materials, and often complete treatments faster with minimal discomfort.
3. We hear a lot about the connection between oral health and overall health. How are the two linked?
Oral health is closely linked to overall health because bacteria and inflammation in the mouth can enter the bloodstream and
affect other parts of the body. Conditions like diabetes, heart disease, and sleep apnea are influenced by what’s happening in the gums and oral tissues, so keeping your mouth healthy helps protect your entire body.
4. What are the most common mistakes people make with their daily dental routine at home?
Most people’s dental routine mistakes come down to technique and consistency— brushing too hard or too quickly, skipping flossing, and not brushing at night. Small adjustments in these areas can make a big difference in preventing cavities, gum disease, and costly dental work.
5. If someone wants a healthier, more confident smile, what is the first step they should take?
The first step toward a healthier, more confident smile is simply scheduling a comprehensive dental exam and cleaning. This allows your dentist to assess your oral health, catch any issues early, and create a personalized plan based on your goals. Oftentimes small, guided improvements can lead to noticeable, lasting results.

A Snohomish native, Anthony Baxter has always loved the scenic beauty and community that has given him lifelong relationships, so when he decided to open his own law practice in 2017, Baxter Legal Services was a natural fit. Now, Anthony serves alongside his wife, Julie, who is the firm’s secretary, and his daughter, Elli, the firm’s paralegal.
By working together as a family, there is a smooth continuity and personal aspect to each interaction with clients. “You have three people who are all focusing in the same direction on your matter,” says Anthony. “We each have our individual slices of pie, for sure, but we have an interconnectedness that I don’t think you get with non-family members.”
In the early days of his legal career, Anthony mainly focused on corporate law, but he soon realized that Snohomish needed someone local to provide representation for small businesses. Those connections naturally expanded to other areas. Today, Baxter Legal Services works with clients in various areas of business law, such as new business set-up, contract preparation and review, and lease agreements, as well as personal matters such as wills, trusts, power of attorney, and other areas of probate law. Ultimately, Anthony helps clients protect their assets and the people closest to them. “They are very similar in that it’s all about asset protection, whether that is business, estate, or personal assets,” Anthony explains.
For Anthony, every day is about more than paperwork; it’s about understanding his clients’ needs and guiding them toward the best choices for themselves and their families. “Whether it’s probate estate planning or business law, the main focus of what they are doing is their family,” Anthony says. “I understand how important family is because it’s our central focus here too. We are a family business, which makes us better able to relate to our clients. I’m doing what I’m doing for my family and they are doing what they’re doing for their family.”
A large part of Anthony’s role is to equip clients to make the best decisions for their situation. “I like teaching clients about how it all works, whether that’s business law, estate planning, or the probate process, so that they can be educated and empowered to make their own decisions,” says Anthony. “Instead of telling them what to do, I prefer the approach of giving them options so that they can make an informed choice.”
Estate planning is something that impacts everyone at some point and it is an area where having legal guidance makes the process so much easier. “The biggest issue is the complexity of the system. With probate and estate planning, in particular, there are a lot of nuanced rules that are specific to Washington state,” Anthony explains. “General research or resources might not touch on those nuanced complexities, but they are critical, so it’s very important to have an attorney or an expert in that field to help you navigate through the process.”

“I understand how important family is because it's our central focus here too.”

Because estate planning is a civil matter, documents drawn up without legal review may contain mistakes that are caught too late, causing confusion or delay in the follow-through of a person’s wishes. “You can proceed through doing something incorrectly, have no idea it was done incorrectly, and there isn’t an entity there to tell you it is wrong or needs to be done a certain way. When you do it on your own, you don’t have any of those guide rails that you’d have if it was a non-civil area of law,” says Anthony. “It’s also interesting to note that there is a lot more to law than just the black and white letter of the law. There are case precedents that come into play, procedures and local court rules, and all these other layers of rules that you might not have thought to look into as a person just trying to research it from the outside.”
Baxter Legal Services also strives to cultivate the best possible experience by ensuring open and clear communication. “When I first started the business, I didn’t have any family in the legal field, so I didn’t have a pattern to follow,” shares Anthony. “So I asked anybody who ever interacted with an attorney what they did not like about their experience. Over and over again, I heard that lack of communication was one of the biggest things that drove people crazy. That’s one of the reasons why Julie joined me, to allow us to answer clients when they call or shortly thereafter, return a message. It really adds value to our representation of clients.”
Anthony understands that to best serve his clients, there must be a relationship founded on trust. So he offers a free consultation to make sure clients are comfortable with him before they enter into any type of agreement. “I think having time to get to know one another is important because representing someone in the legal field is a very personal representation,” he explains. “I’m asking about finances
“I like teaching clients about how it all works, whether that's business law, estate planning, or the probate process, so that they can be educated and empowered to make their own decisions.”

and what you want to happen after somebody passes away, which are very private things. So I like to make sure that we’re a good fit before we start doing business together. It’s no risk or commitment on the client’s part. We can sit down, talk, and see if we connect. It’s also a great opportunity for people who maybe wouldn’t otherwise ask an attorney questions to have time to do so.”

AN EXCERPT FROM EPISODE 6 OF SHARE THE LIFESTYLE, A CITY LIFESTYLE PODCAST
Photographer: Brittany Dawn Short
Creative Director: Jen Birn
Stylist: Stephanie Coultress O’Neill
Location: Hotel Saint Cecilia, Austin, TX
MIKE JOHNSON HAS BUILT HIS LIFE AROUND ONE QUIETLY RADICAL IDEA: THE STANDARD YOU SET PRIVATELY IS THE ONLY ONE THAT MATTERS.
After eight years in the Air Force, a celebrated run on national television, and a health crisis abroad that sent him deep into supply chains and ingredient certifications most founders never touch, the result is Oshun — a luxury ritual brand built on provenance you can trace and integrity you can verify. In an exclusive conversation for the Share the Lifestyle podcast, Mike shares what it actually takes to build something worth putting your name on. Read the highlights below, then scan the QR code for the full episode.
Q: YOU BECAME A FAN FAVORITE ON THE BACHELORETTE AND THEN LEFT THE SPOTLIGHT. YOU MOVED TO MEXICO, LEARNED SPANISH, THEN COSTA RICA, AND BUILT A COMPANY. WHAT DID THAT EXPERIENCE TEACH YOU ABOUT HUMAN BEHAVIOR?
A: “If you’re a good person going in, that shows. If you’re not, that shows too. I also learned that people form this parasocial relationship with you — they assume things about you. When all actuality, different circumstances bring out different parts of who you are. I was on TV trying to find love. The kindness people were showing after felt a bit fake, because they wanted to be a part of something that isn’t who I am individually, but a part of what they saw on TV. And so I had to get away from everybody and everything and the noise.”

“Too many people have prayed for me. So I’ve got to get up and do the walking.”
— Mike Johnson

Q: YOU JOINED THE AIR FORCE RIGHT OUT OF COMMUNITY COLLEGE. WHAT WERE YOU ACTUALLY RUNNING TOWARD?
A: “There was something in me that was saying: I’m not living up to my full potential. I was being a follower. My uncle said, ‘What’s going to make you become an adult the fastest?’ I said, obviously, the military. The Air Force broadened my thought process more than anything. We’re so caught up in our own perception — when you learn to understand different people’s perspectives, it adds to you in so many ways.”
Q: WITH OSHUN, YOU OWN YOUR MANUFACTURING, YOU EMPLOY A CHEMIST, EVERY PRODUCT HAS A BATCH NUMBER TRACEABLE TO ITS ORIGIN DATE. WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO GO THAT DEEP WITH THE BRAND?
A: “The EU bans 1,100 ingredients in personal care products. The U.S. bans nine. That’s my starting point. Oftentimes, it might be the same ingredient, but it comes from a place where it doesn’t have the highest purity. And 60% of what we put on our skin is absorbed. Every product Oshun makes carries a batch number that goes back to the exact day it was created — I can show you every single supplier, the date, the origin. I own more than one part of the supply chain because that’s the only way I can stand behind what’s in the bottle.”
This conversation is just the beginning. Mike goes deeper into why he’s buying land up north, the family in the Philippines who prayed over his factory floor, and what he’d tell every person ready to stop performing and start building.
