How’s your summer so far? Here’s hoping you’re either on vacation, lying by the pool, or enjoying a family reunion with a cookout that takes the cake! During these lazy days with friends and loved ones both near and far, we wish for rest, relaxation, and perspective. One of my favorite summer memories is going to my grandparents’ mountain cabin and spending time in the cool breezes of Virginia while frequenting the best country restaurant on the planet, Shatley Springs! The chicken and the infamous biscuits and gravy were life, and I cherish those summer moments with my family.
As Short Pump’s first Summer Fun issue, we hope you’ll take the time to sit back, relax under the fan or air conditioning, and dive in! From “sno” cones and tasty summer desserts to private wine-tasting experiences and our summer podcast event with local partners, we’ve had so much fun preparing and sharing these beautiful stories of professionalism, heart, and vision for the community while honoring chosen families! Take these lazy days slowly. Enjoy each wonder-filled moment that comes to you, and savor these memories with pictures, stories, and hugs! Legacy is everything. Let’s make it all count!
Enjoy the ride,

All About The Grapes is the Perfect Host for your Next Summer Gathering
ARTICLE BY JOANNA TANNENBAUM
PHOTOGRAPHY BY NIA NEGRETTE PHOTOGRAPHY AND STEVEN CASUPANAN
Summer is here, and it is the best time of the year to get together with friends and family! From Memorial Day to Labor Day, the warm weather, outdoor parties, boating adventures, and cookouts are aplenty. While casual conversation and games occupy guests on such occasions, there is a fresher, more enlightening way to bond with your friends and family - a private wine tasting with Jana Powell, the fun, friendly local wine steward! Creator and owner of All About The Grapes, Jana has the entertainment covered for your next summer event.
Jana provides a private wine-tasting experience like no other. With a personality as bright as the sun, expert wine knowledge, and carefully crafted charcuterie boards, Jana will undoubtedly elevate your next event while leaving a favorable impression on your guests. Short Pump City Lifestyle caught up with Samantha Glass, an All About The Grapes client, to hear more about her private wine-tasting experience with Jana.
JOANNA: HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT ALL ABOUT THE GRAPES?
SAMANTHA : I met Jana Powell at the Cooper's Hawk wine bar when my husband and I attended a wine tasting and did a monthly club member pick-up. We started chatting with Jana, and she explained how she was studying wines and turned her passion and knowledge into a business named All About The Grapes.
JOANNA: WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE ALL ABOUT THE GRAPES FOR YOUR EVENT OVER SIMILAR BUSINESSES?
SAMANTHA: I was impressed and intrigued with the concept of All About The Grapes and what the experience offered. I was unaware of businesses like Jana's, and after we met, I knew I wanted her to host an event for my birthday. So, my husband contacted her soon after, and the results were excellent!
JOANNA: WHERE DID YOU HOLD YOUR BIRTHDAY EVENT?
SAMANTHA: My husband’s office had an open space for gatherings with a kitchen area; we figured it would be a great place to entertain.
JOANNA: HOW DID ALL ABOUT THE GRAPES MEET YOUR EXPECTATIONS FOR YOUR EVENT?
SAMANTHA: Jana wowed us with her understanding of wines. Since we chose Chardonnay for our event, she customized the wine selections to our preference of unoaked versus oaked. Additionally, she created fantastic charcuterie boards to accompany the wines; she interacted with everyone in the group and ensured everyone was involved in the experience.
JOANNA: WHAT DID YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH JANA?
SAMANTHA: I enjoyed Jana's vibrant personality, her extensive wine knowledge, and her ability to create the event based on our needs, space, and attendees. There was plenty of time for sampling, noshing, and being with friends—no one felt rushed, and all questions were encouraged and answered.
JOANNA: HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH THE ALL ABOUT THE GRAPES TEAM IN YOUR HUSBAND’S OFFICE?
SAMANTHA: Having this event in a private space at my husband’s office gave it a more intimate feel rather than being in a portion of a restaurant or venue. It felt very chic and luxurious yet comfortably cool all at once. Jana was attentive and took extra care of the office space, making sure everything was cleaned and returned to its proper place.
JOANNA: WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE PART ABOUT THE PRIVATE WINE TASTING?
SAMANTHA: My favorite parts of the wine tasting were hearing what my friends noted when tasting each wine, seeing how the flavors changed when we paired a sip with a different type of food, and encountering the big reveal at the end. Because all the wines are tasted blindly, we experienced each flavor without being influenced by name, label, or price.
JOANNA: WHAT WOULD YOU TELL YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY ABOUT ALL ABOUT THE GRAPES?
SAMANTHA: I have and will continue to tell my family, friends, and coworkers that All About The Grapes is the perfect choice to boost your celebrations, from families marking milestones to small businesses honoring their clients.
JOANNA: HOW DID THE PRIVATE WINE TASTING WITH JANA ELEVATE YOUR EVENT?
SAMANTHA: The private tasting elevated the event because it was THE event! My birthday was a secondary reason to partake in this new adventure.
Make a splash at your next summer event (or any event) with a private wine-tasting experience with Jana Powell at allaboutthegrapes.com
“JANA IS AN ENERGETIC, KNOWLEDGEABLE, AND FRIENDLY HOST WHO WILL BRING A SPECIAL TOUCH TO WHATEVER EVENT YOU DESIRE. I WHOLEHEARTEDLY RECOMMEND ALL ABOUT THE GRAPES FOR ANY SPECIAL OCCASION.”

Midlothian Lifestyle and Short Pump City Lifestyle hosted several partners at Cameo Cakery and Cafe’s charming outdoor patio in May to discuss their stories and future business goals. Guests included Paul Hearn of Dog Training Elite; Sophia and Anthony Quintana of DRIPBaR; Dr. Neil Agnihotri, accompanied by his wife, Dr. Rupal Shah, and Marketing Director Alyse LaFollette of Agnihotri Cosmetic Facial Surgery; and Tiara Holloway, Jessica Myrick, and Danielle Shackleford of RVA Design Group. While snacking on savory cakes, salads, and charcuterie board treats with a private wine tasting from
All About The Grapes, Aaron Swart with The Brand Artisan Consulting Group and Naylor Taliaferro with LCR Media captured the delightful conversations on The Brand Artisan podcast.
Paul Hearn has many things to look forward to this summer; purchasing a training facility, hiring additional staff, and offering scent training are just a few of his plans. As the summer brings more outdoor gatherings and adventures, Paul explains the importance of having a well-behaved dog if you want them to tag along at all the fun, outside summer happenings. Having recently completed scent training accreditations, he is passionate about helping dogs achieve the ability to aid their owners with severe medical conditions like diabetes and post-traumatic stress disorder. Other than training dogs, Paul shares that mountain biking at Pocahontas State Park is his favorite activity to do during the summer.
Anthony and Sophia Quintana offer vitamin therapy through various IV drips at the DRIPBaR. In Richmond, the summers can be sweltering, and it’s critical to keep your body hydrated, especially while attending outdoor events with sunshine, activities, and drinking. Sophia and Anthony recommend the Restoration Drip before you start your day in the sun. A supplemental to drinking water, the Restoration Drip is packed with vitamin C, magnesium, B12, B complex, and glutathione. Sophia and Anthony are sure to
get the Restoration Drip before heading to the beach or traveling the water’s edge, their favorite summer activities, respectively.
Whether performing cosmetic procedures or providing injectables, Dr. Agnihotri loves improving the lives of his patients. He firmly believes caring for our bodies starts from the inside out, not just from a vanity viewpoint. He expresses that healthy habits are critical for skin, and drinking water is one of the most important things we can do, especially in these hot summer months. He also offers a hydrafacial treatment that directly delivers products into the
skin to cleanse, hydrate, and tone. Dr. Agnihotri performs all the procedures himself, and proud wife Rupal says he doesn't overdo it, providing natural results. In addition to hydration, Alyse mentions that applying SPF protects your skin from sun damage, wrinkling, and aging. She always does so before hopping on her boat to explore Lake Anna!
A new partner to Short Pump City Lifestyle, the RVA Design Group, was founded by Tiara Holloway of Vivacious Interiors by Tiara. Tiara created the group to support and provide resources to fellow designers because she found it challenging to find direction when she first started in the business. After recruiting Jessica Myrick of J. Lynn Interior Designs and Danielle Shackelford of Dani Designed It, RVA Design Group climbed to fifty members comprised of interior designers, organizers, stagers, contractors, and realtors.
With different personalities and strengths brought to the table, the three women work together to achieve the same goal of growing the group and ensuring that everybody inside the group is growing individually. Planning and attending network events are the keys to thriving, and they hope to add more realtors and builders to the RVA Design Group. When the ladies aren’t design connoisseurs, Tiara loves to walk, bike, hang out at the beach, and zipline with her son, and both Jessica and Danielle prefer to be on the sandy beaches during the summer.
Midlothian Lifestyle and Short Pump City Lifestyle enjoyed catching up with their valued partners in a charming atmosphere on two gorgeous, sunny days. Listen to episodes 11, 12, 13, and 14 on The Brand Artisan podcast, available on Spotify, Apple, Amazon Music, and Google Play, to hear more about these remarkable partners.
If you’re looking for the coolest way to beat the summer heat with a frozen treat, look no further than Ruby Scoops and Suzy Sno! Suzy Sno, Ruby Scoops’ little sister, was founded by Chef Rabia and Bakari Ruggiero.
