5 Essential Tips for Staying Healthy During Cold & Flu Season As we approach the cold and flu season, it becomes increasingly important to prioritize our health and take preventive measures to stay well. One approach that has gained popularity in recent years is IV hydration. IV hydration, also known as intravenous hydration, offers a range of benefits that can help us recover faster from cold and flu symptoms while strengthening our immune system. Here are five key facts you should know about IV hydration.

IV Hydration for Improved Absorption IV hydration is also useful for individuals who have difficulty taking oral medications or have compromised digestive systems. Some people with cold and flu symptoms may struggle to swallow pills or keep down food and water due to throat pain, nausea, or a weak stomach. IV therapy helps ensure that necessary medications and fluids are delivered directly into the bloodstream, bypassing the digestive system. Rapid Relief from Symptoms One of the main reasons why IV hydration is effective for cold and flu is its ability to provide immediate relief and replenishment. When we are sick, our bodies often become dehydrated due to fever, sweating, and increased mucus production. Drinking fluids orally can take time to be absorbed and may not provide sufficient hydration. IV hydration, on the other hand, bypasses the digestive system and delivers fluids directly into the bloodstream. This allows for rapid absorption and re-hydration, providing fast relief from symptoms such as dry mouth, fatigue, and dizziness.

Boosting Immunity with Essential Nutrients In addition to hydration, IV therapy can also deliver essential vitamins and minerals that support our immune system’s fight against cold and flu viruses. Illness can deplete our nutrient stores as our bodies work hard to combat the infection. IV hydration can be tailored to include a blend of vital nutrients such as vitamin C, B-complex vitamins, zinc, and magnesium. These nutrients are known to strengthen immune function and aid in faster recovery from illness. Convenience and Safety It is crucial to emphasize that IV hydration should always be administered by qualified healthcare professionals. These professionals have the necessary expertise to assess your condition, customize the IV fluids and nutrients to your specific needs, and closely monitor your response to the therapy. The convenience of IV hydration is that qualified mobile nurses, nurse practitioners, and physicians can administer it in the safety of your own home. This minimizes your risk of exposure to crowded locations when you are in a weakened state, prioritizing your safety.

A Personalized Approach to Your Care Each individual’s health needs are unique, and IV hydration allows for customization to address specific requirements. Whether you have difficulty taking oral medications, struggle with dehydration, or need a boost to your immune system, IV therapy can be tailored accordingly. Seasoned healthcare professionals administering therapy should assess your condition, consider your medical history, and create a personalized plan to ensure optimal results.

LIFESTYLE LETTER

To 2024 ... Ok, I'll be honest—it hasn't even been just a minute since my last workout. It's been, well, probably at least 16 years (prenatal yoga, anyone?!). Life got in the way. Running after kids (that's exercise, right?), doing errands, work ... you know how it goes. Growing up, I loved to move. If I wasn't curled up with a book, I was riding my bike around the block, playing Capture the Flag with neighbors, or at dance class. Ballet, tap, jazz—it didn't matter. I loved to dance. I was on my college's kickline team and even took dance classes after I was married. As we worked on this Health & Wellness issue, it reminded me how much I miss all of that. (And my kids are finally getting older—the oldest left for college and the youngest just started driving. Free time for me!) That all brings me to—welcome to 2024, the time to remember what we want to accomplish in the days ahead and intentionally make an effort to do so. A new year equals a reminder to restart, refresh, and reset our course (if we want to, of course). In this issue, we aim to help you start the year with several health and wellness topics. The NHL's Arizona Coyotes player Logan Cooley takes us on the ice to talk about his first season with the team and shares how he stays in top form. NFL legend Larry Fitzgerald Jr. tells us about spearheading AZ Drive, Arizona's Major League Pickleball team. We also share delicious mocktails that you can make at home in honor of dry January—and tell you where to find them if you prefer a night out! We also talk about the secret to radiance. Oh—and what's better for wellness than an amazing vacation? Check out our travel story that takes you through the Amalfi Coast on a Ritz-Carlton yacht, where you mingle with celebrities. As we head into 2024, I hope you find time to do everything you love, and especially, make time for health and wellness. Happy New Year and may this be your best year yet! Yours,

letter from the PUBLISHER

I’ve never been an athlete or excited about exercising. My little sister was a top-ranked gymnast, track-and-field athlete, and a cheerleader. Me, I was the one on the bench cheering her on. Ok, fine, I was typically complaining about having to spend my Saturdays traveling for all her sports. I’d find some workout classes and gyms to go to but was never passionate about anything when it came to exercising and sports. Then I met my husband who grew up in Boulder, Colorado, doing all things outdoors. He’s an ultra trail runner, snowboarder, mountain biker, road biker, hiker, and really anything else outdoors that he can do. Ever heard of opposites attract?! I slowly started to try new things just to spend more time with him. We started hiking together on weekend trips. We are so lucky to have the amazing trails all around here to fulfill my passion for hiking. Growing up in the South, skiing/snowboarding are non-existent. But at the young age of 35, I started snowboarding for the first time. Now we spend every weekend at Snowbowl and take a ski vacation each winter. I’ve absolutely jumped on the pickleball bandwagon and play every Monday morning with the same group of ladies for the past three years. I go on lots of long walks and found some HIIT classes I really enjoy, too. Still, I will never enjoy running, mountain biking, or road biking—some things my husband can have for himself! But his passion for being active and finding something to do has influenced me to get out and try new things. And lucky for him, our kids really enjoy all kinds of biking with him. There are so many different ways to be healthy these days. Many more options than we had growing up. Try something new this year! Find a new trail, new workout class, or new activity. Your mind, body, and soul will thank you. Happy New Year! Alicia Haygood Owner/Publisher

PLAYMAKER LOGAN COOLEY MAY BE A ROOKIE, BUT HE PLAYS LIKE A STAR ON THE RISE

Playing it Cooley Courtesy Arizona Coyotes

The day we met up to interview and photograph Logan Cooley was another busy day for him. He’s at the Ice Den in Scottsdale, where the NHL’s Arizona Coyotes team practices. He’s already been there for a while, had a team meeting, is meeting with us, and then has to rush off for an autograph session nearby. But Cooley takes it in stride and is gracious and accommodating—though you can tell he’s still getting used to these new changes in his day. After all, he’s still just 19. Plus, even though he was a third overall draft pick during the 2022 NHL Entry Draft, unlike most players who typically spend a year or two in the minors, he was asked to step in and play immediately.

Not only did he, but he did it well. As of this writing, he’s one of the highest rookie scorers in the season and if the season ended today, the team would be in the playoffs—a giant step forward over recent seasons. His contributions—including being an integral part of the power play unit, which is not typical territory for most rookies—have had much to do with it. Cooley has been a playmaker from day one, which may be a mix of talent, training, and drive. “I’ve always been super-competitive in everything I’ve done, and I think just competing and scoring goals and making plays and winning with your teammates is one of the best things I’ve ever experienced,” he says. “Going against the best players in the world with your team is the best feeling in the world.”

FROM FIRST STEPS TO THE NHL

Cooley grew up in Pittsburgh, first stepping on the ice at 4 years old. “It was a learn-to-play program, and I had so much fun with that,” he says. “I just kept going from there.” Indeed he’s kept going. In addition to playing for the Arizona Coyotes, the highest player ever drafted from Pittsburgh also played for the U.S. national U18 team. “Growing up as an American-born player, my dream was always to represent my country one day, and when I was 15 years old and made the U.S. national team development program in Plymouth, Michigan, that was probably the biggest memory I have and the best one I have. That’s where everything honestly started to become a reality—when I made the U.S. national team.” CONTINUED >

And then there was when his name was called. “You kind of always dream of having your name called—especially as high as possible—but you don’t know where you’re going to go. To be the third pick in the NHL Draft was really special and a dream come true. And for it to be the Coyotes, you know, they’re going in the right direction and it’s a super-exciting time to be part of the organization. I’m definitely happy the way the draft turned out and I’m happy to be a Coyote.”

LIVING IN ARIZONA

Now that he’s been on the team for a bit, Cooley is even happier to be a Coyote, enjoying everything from the players who make up the team to the weather here in Arizona. “Especially during the wintertime! Right now, back home it’s 17 degrees and snowing, and here we’re wearing shorts and a sweatshirt,” he says.

STAYING GAME-READY

A large portion of the time he’s just in his gear, though. A typical day has him arriving at the rink around 10 a.m., participating in some meetings, a workout, and practice. As the season goes on, there’s also a lot of traveling. “And then after games, relaxing and taking care of your body,” he says.”

“To be the third pick in the NHL Draft was really special and a dream come true.” Of course, playing a sport requires being in peak condition, which is something Cooley, like all athletes, dedicates time to achieving. In addition to team practices and games, which are workouts themselves, he spends time working out throughout the year. Also, “staying hydrated, working with a nutritionist and guys around our staff, and having home-cooked meals” helps him stay at top performance, he says. “I’m not too particular or anything like that, but getting veggies in. I eat a lot of chicken, a lot of rice, and some pasta, too. … I think that the most important is talking to staff around our team.” Cooley also has a big support team in his family, who he credits as being his mentors. “My family, especially my parents, [have given me so much] support and everything they’ve done for me just helped me not only with this game but off the ice, too,” he shares. He is one of four siblings, with two older brothers and one younger sister. All grew up playing sports, with his brothers also playing hockey and his sister playing hockey briefly and now lacrosse.

OFF THE ICE

When he’s not spending time on hockey, Cooley enjoys just being around family and friends, having a good time, and spending time on the lake. He also loves to golf. “I haven’t had too much time to do a lot of that lately, though,” he says, chuckling.

THE FUTURE

As he looks to the future, he says one of his goals is to win a Stanley Cup. “Being in this game, it seems like a lot of careers are almost defined by how many Stanley Cups you have, and I think to one day win the Stanley Cup, especially here in Arizona, would be pretty special.”

ARIZONA CARDINALS LEGEND LARRY FITZGERALD JR. TACKLES HIS NEWEST SPORT IN A NEW ROLE

Over his 17-year professional football career, Larry Fitzgerald Jr. has grown accustomed to breaking records, making history, and introducing people to the nuances of the game. Now, the future NFL Hall of Famer is using his acumen as an elite athlete,

consists of three events competing for a multimillion-dollar prize pool. Starting something brand new for Fitzgerald required him to be hands-on from the start—determining every detail from logo design and uniforms to strategizing.

“I WENT OVER AND SAW PEOPLE PLAYING IT. THEY ASKED IF I WANTED TO PLAY.” businessman, and all-around good guy toward another sport in the state where he’s spent his entire profession. It’s pickleball. Fitzgerald first discovered pickleball at the El Dorado Golf & Beach Club in Cabo San Lucas. He was playing golf but got distracted. “I heard banging. What is that noise?” Fitzgerald recalls. “I went over and saw people playing it. They asked if I wanted to play.” After an hour on the court, he was hooked. There were the exercise and competitive aspects, but the great conversations and camaraderie with fellow players in a playing space much cozier than a football field really stuck with him. He continued to play when he returned home to the Valley. Today, he spearheads AZ Drive, the Major League Pickleball (MLP) team. The team debuted in January 2023 and is among 24 teams from cities across the country. The MLP is split into two seasons in a calendar year and

While exciting, there are questions as this burgeoning sport aims to make the leap from leisure activity into the pro spotlight. “As much as people love it and play it, will people watch it on TV?” Fitzgerald says. “It has a cult following but it’s growing.” Getting AZ Drive started began about two years ago. Fitzgerald was approached by Thomas Dundon, owner of the Carolina Hurricanes of the NHL and also Pickleball.com, about MLP team ownership. He agreed and formed a diverse group of investors with experience in an array of industries—Michael Phelps, Devin Booker, Dierks Bentley, Sheila Gulati, Sam Fox, and the reigning and fivetime Chess World Champion Magnus Carlsen are among them. He aimed to form his ownership team with people who have deep ties or roots to the state, he explains. He wanted this hometown feel to be a driving force for AZ Drive. CONTINUED >

“We are committed to growing the game here in our home,” he says. Pickleball has experienced increased visibility in recent years. The fact that it’s easy to play, doesn’t cost a lot of money or require pricey equipment, and can be enjoyed by players ages 5 or 85, are reasons, Fitzgerald says. “I like the diversity of it. It’s inclusive to everybody,” he says. The future looks bright with a new PURE Pickleball world-class club and academy set to open in Scottsdale this year. It will feature the nation’s largest indoor pickleball facility with 29 courts, a 500-seat stadium, two special event rooftop courts, and 16 outdoor courts. Fitzgerald would love to see pickleball elevate to a high school competitive level and even an Olympic sport. What also fuels his dedication and passion is witnessing pickleball’s power that goes beyond the physical, especially with youths who have trouble connecting with others.

“IT HAS A CULT FOLLOWING BUT IT’S GROWING.” “It’s so cool to see kids grab a paddle and they are laughing and talking with each other. You see them open up immediately,” he says. “You put them on the court and they connect quickly over this game.” Interestingly enough, one of the most misunderstood aspects of the sport has to do with force. Many assume that the ball must always be hit hard. However, Fitzgerald calls it “a finesse game.” “There is a power aspect but a lot of it is played really slowly … done softly, with dinking,” Fitzgerald says. “I actually enjoy the soft part of the game more than the actual hard part.”

Exploring the Amalfi Coast With an Opulant Celebrity Adventures Cruise A RITZ-CARLTON YACHT, STUNNING VIEWS, PRIVATE ANDREA BOCELLI CONCERTS, AND MUCH, MUCH MORE ARTICLE BY DAN BICKLEY | PHOTOGRAPHY BY GUDENSCHWAGER PHOTOGRAPHY

It’s difficult to manage great expectations. It’s hard to excel when the bar is impossibly high. Somehow, the Celebrity Adventures Tour of the Amalfi Coast delivers at every turn, in every port, in every way possible. Over the next five days, you might find us cutting a sharp line through the Mediterranean Sea. Or anchored like an impact statement off some historic island. Or bobbing in rowboats on our way to the Grotta Azzurra— the famous Blue Grotto—where Celebrity Adventures has somehow secured an hourlong private tour for our entire group, before the swarms of tourists arrive. The entrance to our sea cave is harrowing. We are told to lie down at the bottom of our rowboat. We contort the best we can, and as we move near the small entrance in the rock, our captain is clinging to a chain attached to the underside of the cliff. He must time our entrance to the bob of the sea. He decides to mess around with us first. “Hang on, this is my second day on the job!” he shouts. A few seconds later, we’re inside the cave, where the water suddenly beams electric blue. The experience is like a Disney production, but very real. All the rowboat captains inside the Grotto begin serenading us in Italian, their proud voices booming off the walls of the dark cave. “Volare! Oh oh!” There are three starring attractions on this rollicking, seafaring adventure: the Evrima, the long-awaited Ritz-Carlton yacht finding its stride near the end of its rookie season at sea; the Amalfi Coast, where colorful towns are perched atop towering cliffs; and the incredible access to celebrity entertainers and intimate experiences provided on board.

This Celebrity Adventures Tour includes world-renowned tenor Andrea Bocelli; music icon David Foster; his wife/singer/former American Idol contestant Katharine McPhee; country music superstar Reba McEntire; comedian Chris Tucker; actor John Corbett and wife/actress Bo Derek; former heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield; and musical performers Brian McKnight, Pia Toscano, and Michael W. Smith. They are not celebrities hidden behind red velvet ropes. They’re right next to you at breakfast or at the bar or in the ship’s fitness center. They are approachable and receptive, like a neighbor who lives down the block. You don’t have to get through their security team to say hello. “This is a can’t-miss adventure full of fun and surprises,” Corbett says. “And you never know who you’re going to meet.” To wit: During our stop in Capri—or shortly after my wife nearly fainted from her first bite of a real Italian cannoli—I peered into a jewelry store. And there was Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Montana. “Hey, Joe! Can I take picture?” I ask. He quickly declined. I nodded in understanding. I moved the conversation to football, and how he changed the way America looked at clutch performers and championship athletes. “Thanks, man,” he says. “Where are you guys from?” I point at the Evrima in the sea below, a ship that was easily the Joe Montana of the harbor. “Ok, you can take that picture,” Montana says, clearly impressed. About the ship: The Evrima has 10 decks, six restaurants, and five decks open to the public. It’s too big to be a yacht, and too small to be a cruise ship. It’s perfect. The Evrima feels like a Ritz-Carlton should feel on water. Every stateroom has its own balcony and guests have their own private concierge. The bathrooms and showers are fantastic. Every night, we return to find high-end gifts from Celebrity Adventures laid out carefully on our bed. Every morning, we open the curtains and gasp at the breathtaking coastline. If you’re still searching for inspiration, there are chilled bottles of Moët positioned in every gathering place on the yacht, in champagne buckets that are always brimming with ice. “We call it Ritz water,” a concierge says. “It’s everywhere.” We begin to relish the open spaces aboard the ship. Celebrity Adventures reserved the boat in full, just as it has for a 2025 cruise that will end with a private dinner at Bocelli’s villa. That means you are connected with everyone on board, creating an unmistakable circle of trust. You may meet a diamond magnate from Canada; a business tycoon who has sired four professional hockey players; or cheer out loud for 91-year-old Harvey Mackay as the writer/business guru navigates a steep ramp off the Evrima into the inky darkness, climbing onto a skiff that will take us back into the island of Capri for a midnight afterparty.

David Foster and Andrea Bocelli

“Har-vey! Har-vey! Har-vey!” we chant. The headliner is Andrea Bocelli, the great Italian tenor who makes two appearances on our trip. The first takes place at the Royal Palace in Naples, at a private concert so transcendent that much of the audience was openly weeping. The second performance takes place inside the Villa Ruffolo gardens atop the city of Ravello. La citta della musica. The city of music. At a musical venue beyond imagination. A stage is suspended over a cliff overlooking the Mediterranean, some 1,200 feet above sea level. To the left, a breathtaking cove surrounded by rugged Amalfi coastline. To the right, a pine tree so often photographed, it’s considered Italy’s most famous tree. Below, a sheer drop of nearly 500 feet. On this night, Bocelli is a surprise guest, and he seems a bit uneasy. “There’s a saying in Italy: ‘Drink too much wine and you won’t sing so well,’” Bocelli tells the audience. “The day will never happen when you don’t sing well,” Foster replies. Foster begins the song on piano, but Bocelli is clearly distracted. He’s fiddling with something in his left pocket. Out flies his smartphone, crashing on the stage below. “Wow,” Foster deadpans. “Drink up!” On cue, the inimitable Bocelli hits another song out of the park. When the song is over, he receives another standing ovation. His work here is done.

There were obstacles getting our trip launched. The pandemic stalled the industry. The rollout of the Evrima was delayed eight times over 33 months. Celebrity Adventures had to fight hard to keep their clifftop venue in Ravello, as the rescheduled tour of the Amalfi Coast suddenly bled into the city’s famous music festival. And it wasn’t until midway through dinner on that final night in Ravello when organizers learned Bocelli was going to show up for a farewell performance. Under normal conditions, this is something Bocelli never does. By rule, he does not and will not perform after dinner. But he makes an exception for Celebrity Adventures because of his deep relationships with founder Jimmy Walker and executive director Sean Currie. Walker is the also the founder of Celebrity Fight Night, a Valley businessman/philanthropist who introduced Bocelli to his boyhood idol, the late Muhammad Ali. Ultimately, that relationship is why we’re on this ship. So, if you’re free, join us next time. Make sure to pack white linen pants and lemon-yellow shoes. Don’t pick a fight with Holyfield, and vow to never miss a single afterparty. They’re that good. And when you get here, remember, it’s “Gratz-ya” and not “Gratz-eee.” It means “thank you” in Italian. You’ll know it when you feel it. For more information on the next Celebrity Adventures tour, visit CelebrityAdventures.org.

Scottsdale is now a focal point for car collector culture in the U.S. While that can be attributed largely to the Barrett-Jackson event in January, it is also the result of a group of dedicated car collectors who sought ways to share their love of cars with others. One of the innovators in bringing car shows to the Valley of the Sun is Peter Volny, founder of Concours in the Hills.

FROM CAR ENTHUSIAST TO AUTOMOTIVE EXPERT

Volny, who grew up in Australia, says his love of cars has been a part of his life as long as he can remember. His parents weren’t always thrilled with his car obsession. “They blew their stacks when they found out I was racing cars instead of being in college,” recalls Volny. But Volny’s racing career was short-lived. “I found out that my bravado was greater than my talent.” Volny left Australia in 1970, spent a year in England, and settled in Toronto. He started a marketing, advertising, and public relations firm there, and his automotive knowledge helped him acquire clients that included Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Acura, Goodyear, Bridgestone/Firestone, Yokohama, Castrol, Valvoline, Bosch, Blaupunkt, and others. Over the next three decades, his company became the dominant automotive agency in Canada. He sold it in 2002, retiring to the Arizona sunshine. “We’ve lived here for 19 years and love it,” says Volny. “This truly is heaven. We proudly became citizens in 2011.”

CAR ENTHUSIAST TURNS COLLECTOR

Volny sold his prized 427 Cobra when he moved to Arizona.

“I replaced it here with a 2006 Ford GT, which I still have and love. It’s totally analog and requires your full attention to drive,” he explains. “I later added a 1972 Ferrari Daytona and a Maserati Gran Turismo as my daily driver.” When Volny purchased the Ford, he began going to the Cars & Coffee at the SHOPS at Gainey Ranch. He and his wife, Linda, would also travel to other shows. “We were going to the Monterey Car Week, where fabulous shows such as Pebble Beach, The Quail, and Concorso Italiano are all held on grass,” Volny reminisces. He says cars show much better on green grass than on black pavement, but there wasn’t a show on grass in the Valley. “So, I naively started Concours in the Hills,” Volny says, laughing.

CONCOURS IN THE HILLS

In 2014, Volny convinced the then-mayor of Fountain Hills to let him park cars in the park for the show. “I exaggerated and told her I was hoping for 100 cars,” he says. “We amazingly wound up with over 200.” Since then, the show has grown dramatically. It is 100% charity and operated with an all-volunteer staff. In 2023, the show included more than 1,200 cars, brought in 50,000 people, and raised just under $500,000 for Phoenix Children’s Hospital. It also featured the elite Navy SEALs parachute team, the Leap Frogs, jumping from a helicopter at 6,000 feet to land in the show. Volny hopes Concours in the Hills, which will be held this year on Feb. 3, continues far into the future. “I’m no spring chicken, so to ensure the show remains a charity event, I donated it to Phoenix Children’s Hospital. I’ll be there to help them if they need me.” CONTINUED >

Glow Up

after 40 BEAUTY, WELLNESS, AND SELF-CARE TIPS TO LOOK AND FEEL YOUR BEST

“Incorporate vitamin C-rich foods like oranges and strawberries into your diet for collagen boosters, omega-3 fatty acids like salmon and avocado for supple skin, Age is just a number, and at 54, I’ve come to realize that the secret to radiance is happiness. The journey to looking and feeling our best begins from the inside out. Here are some tips to add that extra sparkle to your life—proving that age is just a number, not a limitation.

and antioxidants like blackberries and leafy greens to combat free radicals.”

A Good Night’s Sleep Embracing the art of aging gracefully begins with a good night’s sleep. Yes, beauty sleep isn’t a myth! If you struggle to catch those Zs, consider making friends with the sun. Rise with it, soak up some rays, breathe in the fresh air, and let your circadian rhythm dance to a harmonious tune. Creating a sleep routine, including a warm shower, a good book, and a digital detox an hour before bed, can transform your nightly rest into a beauty-enhancing ritual.

Movement This is another magic wand in our arsenal. Exercise not only ensures a restful sleep but also brings a rosy glow to your skin by increasing blood flow. So, put on those sneakers and take a stroll—it’s an underrated activity that does wonders for your joints, overall health, and that elusive radiance.

Manage Your Stress Managing stress is an art, and I’ve found mindfulness to be a trusty companion. Meditation, even if it’s just a few deep breaths with closed eyes, can do wonders for your well-being.

Hydrate Hydration is also a key player. Sip on water like it’s your favorite cocktail, and if plain water isn’t your jam, infuse it with items such as lemons, strawberries, or limes. And as the saying goes, you are what you eat—so also munch on foods that keep your skin plump and radiant.

Eat These Foods Incorporate vitamin C-rich foods like oranges and strawberries into your diet for collagen boosters, omega-3 fatty acids like salmon and avocado for supple skin, and antioxidants like blackberries and leafy greens to combat free radicals. And organic, toxin-free beauty products are crucial. Slathering your face and body with harmful chemicals is like putting the brakes on your glow train. The journey to a fabulous glow after 40 is moments that add up to a radiant life. Remember, age is just a number—a number that gets better with each laugh line and every bit of self-love.

SMOOTHIE BOWLS

ARTICLE BY ANGELA BROOCKERD PHOTOGRAPHY BY JANIE JONES Start your day with a nutritious and vitamin-packed breakfast. Smoothie bowls are a great way to add a variety of fruits and vegetables. Top with chia or flax seeds for an extra omega-3 boost, nuts or seeds for added protein, or sliced fruit for additional vitamins and fiber. Including a hint of turmeric or ginger can aid in digestion and has anti-inflammatory properties. Eating a variety of fruits and vegetables can aid in cellular repair and gut health, and smoothie bowls are a delicious way to incorporate more into your day. Try some of these simple recipes, or create your own combinations to give your health a boost.
