The Style of the Season There’s a specific morning every September when you step outside, feel that first crisp bite in the air, and realize autumn has officially arrived. Around the Bay, the shift happens fast. Summer’s chaotic rush gives way to familiar, cozy routines. Friday night football lights are back on, kids are settled into school, weekends are filled with apple orchards, and, love it or hate it (my husband loves it), pumpkin spice is officially back on the menu. As the leaves begin their slow change from green to deep golds and reds, our lives naturally transition, too. We trade sandals for comfortable boots, pull our favorite oversized sweaters from the back of the closet, and start craving warmer, richer spaces at home. And really, isn’t that what fall style is all about? Style isn’t just what you see on a high-fashion runway or in a pristine magazine photo. In real life, style is how a season feels. It’s the warmth of your home welcoming you back on a chilly evening. It’s the go-to jacket that gives you an extra boost of confidence on a brisk walk. It’s the small, intentional ways we bring warmth, comfort, and personal touch into our daily routines as the weather turns. Fall invites us to slow down, reset, and embrace the beauty of change. When stepping into a beautifully completed home, it is easy to focus on the finishing touches such as the perfectly draped linen, the thoughtfully layered objects, or the seamless layout. But for Morgan Wadding, founder and lead designer of MW Design Studio, true design runs much deeper. It is an intricate blend of structural intentionality, spatial engineering, and client advocacy. MW Design Studio is far more than a decorating team; they are a boutique, full-service interior design firm specialized in navigating complex new constructions, structural renovations, and comprehensive furnishing projects.

Morgan’s path to design was shaped by a lifelong passion for home interiors alongside seventeen years of corporate leadership. A Sandusky native with a business degree from Ohio University, Morgan spent nearly two decades gaining project management and operational expertise in Chicago. In 2013, she and her husband returned home to Ohio. After managing a full build in New Albany and executing a massive gut-renovation of a 1980s home in Sandusky, Morgan completed formal interior design education and founded her firm, quickly evolving it into the full-scale, brick-and-mortar powerhouse that is MW Design Studio today. Her deep work ethic and meticulous eye for structural balance laid the foundation for a firm that treats style as an art, a science, and a personal commitment.

Marcia, a New York native who grew up watching her mother restore an 1890s farmhouse, brought a lifetime appreciation for historic homesteads, layered interiors, and tactile textures. Together, the duo works as a seamless team, bringing complementary perspectives to every technical and creative step. The greatest strength of MW Design Studio lies in this natural balance. Morgan leads the creative vision, bringing each project to life through thoughtful concepts, innovative ideas, and a refined eye for detail. Meanwhile, Marcia is the driving force behind the scenes, ensuring every project moves forward seamlessly through exceptional organization, communication, and project management. In addition to coordinating timelines, vendors, and construction logistics, Marcia plays an integral role in custom furnishings and design selections. Together, their complementary strengths deliver an organized, highly collaborative experience from initial floor plans to final installation. For clients, this means gaining a collective design leadership team that ensures no structural detail or stylistic element is ever overlooked.

This location serves a dual purpose: housing their interactive interior design center and a curated retail boutique featuring home decor, accessories, and elevated apparel. Morgan believes that clothing and interior design are a seamless extension of one another because both are authentic expressions of personal style. The colors you are drawn to, the textures you love, and the way you layer pieces all carry over naturally between your wardrobe and your home. Both disciplines share the exact same core principles, harmony, proportion, texture, color, and timeless design. The Cinnamon Maple Whiskey Sour was inspired by the crisp air, changing leaves, and the comfort of wrapping yourself in a warm blanket after a day outside. Bright citrus balances warm cinnamon and rich maple, creating a cocktail that’s both refreshing and cozy.
