Beginning in 2020, we as a community faced a new and resilient foe that few could have ever imagined. During this time of uncertainty, we sought safety, stability, and a return to normalcy, all while trying our best to help those around us. In the midst of it all, Dr. Disha Patel not only sought these comforts for her growing family but also worked tirelessly to provide these reassurances for the community she cherishes.

Dr. Patel drew on her vast experience and compassion to help prepare and administer over 3,000 COVID-19 vaccinations to vulnerable members of the public. This selfless work became a turning point—an experience that inspired her to establish her own business, Laguna Health Pharmacy. Throughout this period, Dr. Patel found an irreplaceable sense of fulfillment in serving and supporting those around her. When she returned to the corporate world—a place she described as “all about numbers”—she quickly realized where her true calling lay: in delivering personal, heartfelt care to others. Thus, with renewed purpose and growing confidence in her own expertise, Dr. Disha Patel opened Laguna Health Pharmacy in Laguna Hills in June of 2025.

Her business model carries a deeply meaningful goal: reshaping traditional, profit-driven healthcare into one centered on people and connection. As Dr. Patel explains, “We are serving the community, as a family and a woman-owned pharmacy providing personalized care, answering questions, and being there when you need us.” Whether contacting the pharmacy online or visiting in person, patients are always met with kindness, humility, and genuine human interaction—no automated systems, crass employees, nor cold efficiency. Though the pandemic has passed, our shared need for safety, stability, and compassion remains. Decide what you want to accomplish with your trip. Is it time for you to relax and escape? Are you looking for adventure, or is this trip to entertain someone, like your parents, children, or friends? Next, you need to develop a budget—not just for money, but also for time. Both time and money budgets play an important role in defining your trip. Now, where do you want to go? What is exciting or desirable for you? When can you go? Not all places offer the same experience at the same time of year. Think of time, money, and personal constraints that may impact your vacation. It is important to picture your trip from the beginning, as it will help you during the planning process.

2. Plan

Now that you have the basic structure of the trip you wish to take, you can start planning the details. Make a short list of the “must-do” activities, and a list of "nice to do" ones. Give priority

Ready to get away? There are a few things to know to build your perfect vacation.

to the "must-do" list and build your trip around it. You should also prepare to set aside time for the unplanned. This allows you to do “nothing” or to explore and find things that weren't on your lists. These chance excursions can become some of the most memorable parts of your vacation. If you are planning to visit major cities on your own, I suggest the rule of three: three days or nights in any location will let you truly see and experience the area. This rule applies well to cruising, too. Lastly, you need to plan for the unexpected changes that can occur while traveling to your destination. Flights can have delays or cancellations, luggage can get lost or delayed, too, so pack strategically by spreading out your essentials between your carry-on and checked bags.

3. Prepare

Preparing is about making sure you have everything you need for your destination. Check documents like passports and visas, or crucial items like medication and equipment. All of this is destination-specific. Acquire a phone coverage plan and

insurance for the location where you are going. I highly recommend travel insurance in case of accidents, luggage loss, and cancellations. Further, prepare a positive mindset to accompany your great vacation. Here are a few mental reminders that are important to remember before and during your trip: Pack your bags and your patience—for yourself and others. Other cultures act and treat people differently. Your trip will most likely not be at “home,” and that is the point. Act like you are the guest in someone else’s house. Be kind, courteous, and helpful to others. Come to terms with the fact that nothing will be perfect. Give yourself a break. Vacations are meant to be fun; remember to keep it that way. Have the mindset that you will go back home one day. If something doesn’t go to plan and things are missed, just remind yourself you will see it next time. Last but not least–work with a travel professional every step of the way here. INGREDIENTS:

DIRECTIONS:

• 4 cups heirloom vine tomatoes • 3⁄4 cup kalamata olives 2- 8 oz. whole milk burrata cheese • 6 ounces basil fresh basil pesto • 4 ounces balsamic glaze • 1 cup arugula • salt & maldon salt

1. Slice tomatoes into 1 ⁄4 pieces and place in a large bowl. 2. Slice olives into thin rounds and place in the bowl with the tomatoes. 3) Mix tomatoes and olives with 3 ounces of balsamic reduction & 4 ounces of Pesto in a bowl. 3. Place 1/4 cup of arugula flat on each plate. 4. Spread 3⁄4 cup tomato mix on top of arugula over each plate. 5. Slice Burrata in half with the inside facing up to keep contents from spilling out. 6. Using 1 ⁄2 of each burrata per salad, slice each 1 ⁄2 ball into 3 pieces and spread along the top of the tomatoes. 7. Drizzle remaining basil pesto & balsamic over the top of the burrata and tomatoes. 8. Sprinkle in Maldon salt and pepper. 9. Top each with Micro Basil and edible flowers if you have across the top to garnish. 10. And the most important step, enjoy your creation!

Connection: an irreplaceable concept that the Afrasiabi family holds personally and has worked diligently to implement into their professional lives as well. Pete Afrasiabi, a doting father, owner of Timeless Remodeling Showroom, and a South Orange County local, recently opened his home improvement business in Laguna Hills. He works closely with his family to connect with the community in order to provide the public with luxurious remodeling services. In pursuit of communal connection, Pete ensures his guests feel welcome the moment they walk through the door by displaying a gorgeous showroom. The unique layout, designed by his wife and business partner, Lili Afrasiabi, was chosen “to be different from other stores and ditch display racks for a homely feel,” Afrasiabi said. It features a cozy living room space, a modern bathroom, and a high-end kitchen. Additionally, he made sure to join the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) and become accredited by the Better Business Bureau. Pete collaborates with well-known home improvement names like Sherwin-Williams and Howard’s Appliances, and also provides 3D Graphic Models to allow clients to visualize their upgraded homes before remodeling takes place.
