THE LADIES ISSUE
LIFE + CULTURE
CELEBRATING THE WOMEN WHO ENRICH OUR LIVES

Celebrating the Women Who Enrich Our Lives
May is our Ladies Issue, and we’ve endeavored to capture that essence throughout this publication—starting with the cover! It features our talented team at Rogers City Lifestyle, including a cameo by my beautiful daughter Alex (my pride and joy). Though not everyone could be in the photo (someone had to take it!), their presence is felt. From left to right: Alex, Alexis, Riley, Sydney, Heather, and Isabella.

There’s something truly extraordinary about taking a moment to honor the women in our lives who make the world more vibrant and meaningful. Be it our mothers, daughters, friends, sisters, wives, soulmates, partners, or colleagues, these incredible women often work quietly behind the scenes, shaping our days and enriching our lives.
The backdrop for our cover and team photo—a mural painted by Rich Simmons in 2019, nestled in Old Town Rogers—perfectly embodies the strength and spirit of Rogers’ remarkable women. This mural has survived tornadoes and more, and remains strong, resilient, and beautiful.
With Mother’s Day this month, it’s only natural to reflect on the powerful impact of the women around us. From biological mothers to mother figures, they leave lasting impressions as teachers, friends, neighbors, leaders, wives, partners, and family members. They offer love, wisdom, and support in countless ways. As the youngest in my family, with three older sisters and an amazing mother, I sometimes felt like I was raised by a dynamic, spirited “pack” of women—and what a gift that was!
Let’s take this opportunity to celebrate these amazing women. Support local businesses run by women in our community, as well as those that offer services to uplift them. One of the most rewarding parts of my role is championing the extraordinary women here in Rogers. From trailblazers and creators to builders and dreamers, these women contribute so much—often in ways that go unseen. Their beauty and influence are truly unmatched.
A special shoutout to Macye, founder of Rogers City Lifestyle, whose moxie and courage continue to inspire me.
This May, take a moment to recognize the women in your life. Whether it’s a text, flowers, a heartfelt card, a phone call, a hug, or a video chat, these simple gestures can brighten their day (and yours) and remind them how much they’re cherished.
Here’s to celebrating the remarkable women who make life much more meaningful. Happy Mother’s Day to all the ladies who inspire us every day!

The Artist Behind the Mural
Simmons’ 50-Foot Legacy in Downtown Rogers

Artist Rich Simmons painted this mural in April 2019 while he was in Arkansas working with Crystal Bridges on its show “Men of Steel, Women of Wonder.” It took over 80 hours of work to create this 50-foot masterpiece. During the process, Rich invited the Arkansas Arts Academy students down to meet him, help paint parts of the mural, and discuss art.
His inspiration for this piece came from the 500th anniversary of the death of Leonardo da Vinci on May 2nd, 2019. He created the reflection of Mona Lisa in the glasses as homage to Leonardo and his legacy. Rich, who currently lives in England, says he wants to come back and give his mural a “spa day.”

DESIGNING THE PERFECT SMILE WITH DR. JAMIE DIMOND
I n the world of dentistry, where patient care often gets overshadowed by routine procedures, Dr. Jamie Dimond stands out for her deep commitment to creating a modern, patient-focused experience. From the very first moment a patient steps into her practice, they know they’re in good hands—whether it’s her gentle approach, luxurious comforts like massage chairs and paraffin hand wax, or her ability to connect with patients on a personal level. In this Q&A, we dive into Dr. Dimond’s passion for dentistry, what sets her practice apart, and how her team goes above and beyond to ensure every patient feels heard, valued, and cared for. Dimond Dental isn’t just about teeth—it’s about transforming the entire dental experience.
WHY DID YOU STEP INTO DENTISTRY?
Dr. Dimond stepped into dentistry because she felt something was missing in the dental community. As the first doctor in her family, she always knew she wanted to pursue dentistry and had a passion for it from a young age. Her passion for oral care set her apart— she was the kid who actually loved going to the dentist! That childhood enthusiasm turned into a lifelong commitment to make a meaningful impact, not only on her patients’ smiles but also on the way the dental community connects with those it serves.
WHAT MAKES YOU A MODERN DENTAL EXPERIENCE?
What sets Dr. Dimond’s practice apart is her commitment to providing over-the-top service to patients. With indulgent amenities
like massage chairs, paraffin hand wax, and soothing eye masks, every patient is treated like royalty from the moment they walk in. Unlike traditional practices where patients might encounter conflicting treatment plans, Dr. Dimond’s approach ensures a seamless and cohesive care experience. Plus, she takes it to the next level by offering cutting-edge services like implant placements and Botox treatments—adding a modern, holistic touch to the world of dentistry.
WHERE DID THE PHRASE “DENTIST WHO LISTENS” COME FROM?
First and foremost, Dr. Dimond sits knee to knee with a patient and says, “Tell me about you,” rather than immediately focusing on their teeth. This personal touch allows her to build a deeper relationship

with her patients, as she genuinely cares about getting to know them beyond their dental needs. At Dimond Dental, the team pours into patients’ lives, creating an environment where they feel heard and valued.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR TEAM?
Dr. Dimond describes her team as incredibly patient, always willing to go the extra
“MY FAVORITE PATIENTS ARE THOSE WHO INITIALLY SAY THEY HATE THE DENTIST. I SEE IT AS A CHALLENGE TO CHANGE THEIR EXPERIENCE AND MAKE THEM FEEL COMFORTABLE.”
— DR. DIMOND
mile to ensure their patients feel cared for. Their gentle touch and demeanor help create a calming environment for patients. They don’t just treat patients and send them on their way. In fact, one patient who was in pain the day after his visit was so impressed when the team called to check on him, saying it was a level of service he had never experienced before.
WHAT’S THE MOST REWARDING PART OF YOUR WORK?
The people! She particularly enjoys working with patients who initially say they hate the dentist, viewing it as a challenge to change their perception. For Dr. Dimond, every day in dentistry is different, and she thrives on the variety and problem-solving aspects of the job. General dentistry, she believes, is like the emergency room of dental care, where each patient brings a unique challenge, and she gets to make a tangible difference in their lives.

DIY DAY
INSPIRATION FOR A MOTHER/ DAUGHTER DIY DAY
ARTICLE BY MEL BOBAN
WITH MOM
An afternoon spent together is priceless with today’s busy schedules. Instead of going out, staying in can provide quaint, quiet one-on-one time for a mother and daughter (or multiple daughters). Finding time on calendars is the hard part, and filling that time is all fun from there. Here are a few favorite ideas for inspiration that may spark excitement for planning those special times together.

01 Charm Necklaces
Custom DIY charm necklaces and bracelets are trending. Gather a theme idea: birthstones, family initials, travels or even favorite hobbies, and procure charms from your local craft store or online shop. Selecting charms for each other also could be a fun way to bring delight to the crafting occasion. Necklaces and bracelets can be made for each other, or as future gifts for upcoming occasions such as a family wedding, a birthday milestone or an anniversary.
02 Interview Journaling
Storytelling makes for the best memories. Structure memory recall by filming or journaling interview-style question-and-answer sessions, cataloging information for future generations. Videos and notes with detailed family adventures are priceless, and we all always wish we had more of them.
03 Meal Prep
Text conversations around kitchen tips or ingredient procurement seem endless. Spend some time together in the kitchen preparing favorite family recipes, sharing Mom’s best tips and tricks. Choosing freezer-friendly meals is a great way to walk away with meals for upcoming busy days. There’s nothing like Mom’s recipes!

EMPOWERING AUTHENTIC BEAUTY
NWA Aesthetics & Fertility Offers Compassionate Care
ARTICLE BY SYDNEY JOHNSON
PHOTOGRAPHY BY ISABELLA RAQUEL & SAVANNAH SADLER

NWA Aesthetics & Fertility is more than a medical spa, it’s an intersection of beauty, wellness, and empowerment. Founded by Dr. Audrey Tobey and Mariah Cookinham, BSN, this female-owned practice brings together over 20 years of combined medical experience, offering treatments designed to enhance natural beauty without overpowering it.
When Mariah met Dr. Tobey, she knew she had found someone extraordinary. “When you meet someone like that, you gotta snatch ‘em up,” she says with a laugh.
For Dr. Tobey, beauty and wellness have always meant more than aesthetics. As an OB-GYN, she is deeply committed to women’s health, channeling much of her passion into her nonprofit, Straw to Bread, providing essential health care to underserved communities. Every year, she dedicates two weeks of hands-on service abroad, empowering women through accessible care.

It didn’t take long before Mariah and Dr. Tobey realized they shared the same vision— within just four months, they joined forces to create NWA Aesthetics & Fertility, a place where women can receive quality, affordable health care while embracing their natural beauty. The team, which includes a compassionate physician, skilled nurses,

and talented estheticians, offers a range of services, including:
• Aesthetics : Botox, dermal fillers, PRF therapy, and facials
• Women’s Wellness : Medical weight loss, hormone therapy, lab draws
• Head Spa : A one-of-a-kind indulgence. As Mariah puts it, “who doesn’t love getting their hair played with?”

What sets them apart is their warm, supportive atmosphere. The team operates as a unit, prioritizing clients and each other. “Having a bad day? Take off. I’ll get you a coffee,” Mariah says, highlighting her care for staff. This philosophy extends to clients, making everyone feel valued.
NWA Aesthetics & Fertility believes in enhancing natural beauty. Their approach is rooted in self-love, encouraging clients to embrace their favorite features while addressing insecurities with compassion. “Everyone is uniquely beautiful, we just help them see it.” In a world where beauty standards can feel unattainable, NWA Aesthetics & Fertility wants beauty to be celebrated, nurtured, and, above all, authentic.

From Stem To Vase:

TRANSFORMING FLORALS INTO ART
Flowers have a rich history of symbolic meanings.
As far back as the 19th century, they were used to convey secret messages. Stories throughout history recount how flowers were used to send hidden messages between people. French publishers began producing flower dictionaries that cataloged the many floral codes that had been gathered over time. Some of these meanings were linked to the flower’s root name, often derived from mythology, while others were drawn from the flowers themselves. The colors, medicinal properties, and even the superstitions
associated with these flowers all contributed to the creation of this secret language.
In addition to their symbolic significance, flowers bring natural beauty to any interior, enhancing spaces with their color, texture, and mood-boosting qualities. Floral arrangements not only create a cozy atmosphere but also infuse a room with personality, elevating the overall ambiance. There are multiple ways to creatively integrate florals into your home, and whether using fresh or artificial flowers, creative displays can make quite the statement piece.

Hanging Florals
Florals and Fruit
Add an extra burst of color and texture to your floral arrangement by layering fruit around the edges of your vase. To achieve this, place a smaller vase inside a larger one, ensuring the flowers stay contained in the inner vase to preserve their shape. Fill the surrounding space with water and then arrange sliced fruit along the vase’s outer sides. For a fresh touch, add ice cubes to keep the fruit looking vibrant longer and to hold them in place. Not only will the flowers’ fragrance fill the air, but the citrus notes from the fruit will add a refreshing scent.
For a dramatic effect, try creating a hanging floral display. Floral cones are available for this style, or you can craft your own for a more personalized, organic look. The contrast between long-stemmed white flowers and a dark wall creates a striking visual impact.
No matter how you choose to display them, flowers are a wonderful addition to any room. They boost mood, improve air quality, spark creativity, and bring a decorative charm to any space.

Flower Frogs
Using a frog to display flowers creates a minimalist yet elegant look that highlights the individuality of each bloom. It helps the stems stay in place. To set it up, place the frog on your chosen display base, whether it’s a vase, bowl, platter, or any container you prefer. Then, simply insert the flower stems by gently pressing them into the prongs. Tip: Flowers with sturdy stems and a lighter top work best in a frog, as delicate blooms tend to lose their shape more quickly.
